Grin excellent news!

I love the list of Oxford names - I know a fair few Cambridge graduates and none of them have any of those names Grin (although possibly there are middle names in use)

We still haven't really decided on a name, should really get out the books and recent top 100 lists and have another go. And a boy name too, just in case!

Our first purchase was a cuddly elephant. You've got to think about the essentials, you know Grin

I have no idea about names. I've looked up lists over lunch, and I still don't feel a particular pull to any specific one, arrrgh. HOTB so far likes one more than others, but I'm not convinced (yet). The whole idea of choosing a name for a person is just weird - you choose names for pets, but people tell you their names! Maybe baybee will just look like a particular name...

Congratulations bugs! My first purchase was a fun fur panda onesie (for the baby, not me. That would be weird..). Like Draf says, it's all about the essentials.

ALittleFaith · 11/04/2014 15:31

Sounds good bugs! We first bought a teddy comforter that Faithlet has to sleep with still.

GingerScouse · 11/04/2014 15:55

Hooray bugs!! I'm so pleased for you! And yes, Kat, 'tis ver' dusty in here....

I bought 2 little hats from Asda as my first purchase.

Girl's name we're sorted-ish, but not for a boy's name, although we do still have 17.5 weeks....

KatAndKit · 11/04/2014 16:26

Nice pram blanket as a first purchase? First time I didn't get anything till 20 weeks but I cracked much earlier this time and already had new baby grows by then.

So wonderful bugs. Very exciting. My first purchase for L was a stripey jingly elephant which lives in his room and now has a slightly chewed trunk.

MsJupiter · 11/04/2014 20:20

(I wasn't baby shopping but just happened to see it in a shop and fell in love with it)

Nokkie73 · 11/04/2014 20:29

Brilliant news bugs. So bloody thrilled for you. Grin

bugs it all depends on the blood test results along with your age. Faithlet's NT was about 3 but with bloods it was only 1:3000. Try not to worry.

That 'friend' sounds very irritating and I'd be looking for the delete button! She has no idea what you've been through! A year is tough but nothing compared to your journey Shock

SinkyMalinks · 12/04/2014 09:46

Bugs, 2mm is fine for NT. I do remember that feeling though! The sonographer who did mine had illegible hand writing and eh midwife couldn't tell if it was 1.9 or 1.0 (or something). I can't even remember which the midwife decided to use on my forms but remember stressing that my result would be falsely high/low etc etc etc.

The menkul never ends!

2mm is fine, mine was 2.4 this time and the sonographer didn't say anything. Also it is in relation to the size of the baby and you said yours is looking long.

Get used to that feeling bugs. Around 4 am I was convinced my milk had dried up because I couldn't hand express. From the side I'd just finished a 25 min feed from. And despite soaking breast pads. Oh, and the several, squirt baby in face moment.. Suspect The Crazy will be with both of us for some time (18 years as conservative estimate)

bugs I am glad you are being open about it. I have not made a FB announcement, but have told people in RL that this has been a long journey and this is an IVF win. It's important to me to do that.

I've been up for AGES. I'm jetlagged. We arrived home from our hols at about 1.30 this morning. Zzzzz. Still, today will necessarily be an easy day. We live near the London marathon start, so it's pointless even shifting the car off the drive! The holiday was amazing, but really whizzed by. I can't say I enjoyed 10 hours each way in cattle class with bump and restless legs, but it was worth it. I'll probably stick a few photos on t'other place later, once I have organised myself.
