Oh shit you don't need that at all. I hope he doesn't have a clot after all and is home soon. Would be such a shame to miss your holiday.

ALittleFaith · 09/04/2014 14:30

Oh no dor! Is it hot to touch? Has he been travelling recently?

FriendofDorothy · 09/04/2014 14:56

Arse. He has a big thrombosis in his lower leg and has been told he can't fly. I am so disappointed.

Right now it feels like the whole universe is shitting on us Hmm

ALittleFaith · 09/04/2014 15:03

Oh I'm sorry. That's just pants. :(

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 09/04/2014 16:03

U am so sorry, dot! :(

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 09/04/2014 16:03

I am, obviously, fat fingers

FrankelandFilly · 09/04/2014 16:54

The thing is he might not be fit to fly for at least 3 months, maybe 6 months.

I am 21 weeks already which means I am running out of time!

Really sorry you've not had better news Dor, do you have insurance?

Bugs that's crap, but at least she let you know. In better news it's almost scan day, how are you feeling?

Headaches and cramps are totally normal. I had almost constant headaches for several weeks in the first trimester - midwife said they're really common, it's the hormones. Just drink lots of water. Cramp wise it's probably just womble stretches. Hang on in there, you're almost there.

eurochick · 10/04/2014 09:45

Morning hags. I'm travelling atm, so this is just a quick one.

Sorry to hear about all the bfing woes. It sounds tough.

Bugs, it's excellent that you have passed the 12 week mark. Good luck for your scan.

Dor what awful timing. That's what my mum has too. The first one is what prompted my parents to try a cruise for a holiday and they've been doing that ever since. Will the insurance pay out so you could get a boat to France or Spain or something so you can at least all get away?

Afm, I'm 20 weeks today. Bugs I most definitely have a bump and have done for a few weeks now. I think weak abs and a tendency to both bloat and put weight on my belly meant it was inevitable that I would show early.

FriendofDorothy · 10/04/2014 10:07

Right I am getting ready to brain my sister.

Quick update - Dad is in hospital and has a DVT in leg and clots in his lungs. He is on various treatments and seems to be doing ok.

The thing is my sister is going on about postponing our trip for 6 weeks but which point I will be 28 weeks pregnant. I am not sure that I am happy to fly at that point.

Is that really unreasonable to am I being melodramatic?

ALittleFaith · 10/04/2014 10:28

I don't think you are dor. I wouldn't want to fly that late. Also there's no guarantee your Dad will be well enough to fly then either. I agree with the suggestion from euro, what about sailing somewhere? From your neck of the woods Portugal is also accessible.

bugs my MW said to double the amount I drank when pregnant so I was necking 3-4 litres a day!

I would not go to Cyprus in the heat of the summer when pregnant if I could help it. I used to live there and it will be very hot. However if you don't mind the heat then it could be OK. Most airlines will take you at that stage with a fit to fly doctors note. Check with your insurance. You should be able to get insurance if you have no pre existing pregnancy complication. Insurers are not allowed to class pregnancy as an illness. My main question to the insurer would be whether the baby is covered for nicu care if you had the highly unlikely misfortune to deliver at 28 weeks. Cyprus is in the EU, do you have ehic cards where you are? I can understand you not being keen though, I won't go out of the UK during pregnancy.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 10/04/2014 12:49

For what it's worth I am flying this weekend at 32 weeks, with a fit to fly note. Would not be happy to go somewhere hot tho...

Generally sorry, dot! You need to do what's good for you. I like the sailing somewhere suggestion.

Keeping everything crossed, but am convinced it'll be fine tomorrow, bugs. My womble still complains regularly!

Bugs I'm so sorry to hear your news Sad It may sound harsh but you need to put yourself first for the next few days, you've got a big event coming up in your scan so you need to focus your energy on that.
