Old thread is getting full so here's a nice new one for all our moaning, paranoia and getting each other through it. Can someone do the honers and copy our edd list over? Maybe link the old thread too?

Oh and I live in Dorset by the seaside

akachan · 24/02/2014 10:13

Hi all, what a nice busy thread.

I'm knackered still but no other real symptoms. I told my mum and dad on Saturday and my dad cried! It was very sweet. I'm not telling anyone else (unless DH wants to tell his parents) until my scan.

pebble82 · 24/02/2014 10:16

Tiny, how come you're having so many scans. Sorry to be nosey, I'm just envious ;-)

having a minor panic as just got some weird discharge after wiping. Sort of yellowy brown. Not had anything up to now so thinking the worst. This is dispite knowing spotting is usually nothing to worry about. Seriously can't wait to be 12 weeks. The stress is driving me crazy. I'm an emotional wreck at work. Not good! Putting it down to extreme tiredness too. I'm snappy and teary all at once :'(

TinyTear · 24/02/2014 10:19

pebble 4 miscarriages under my belt, I'm afraid...

Got the GP to refer me for an early scan as I wouldn't be able to cope with finding out at 12w... last one was found at an 8w scan and i wasn't even bleeding my 9+4 when I had my ERPC...

And as the scan was ok (hb seen) they now will get me to see a consultant next time i get scanned to see how things are going...

TinyTear · 24/02/2014 10:20

but i know i am not in the clear... after hb seen at 6w chances of being ok atr 78% so still 12% chance of not being ok..,. after a good 8w scan the chance goes up to 98% so might feel better

pebble82 · 24/02/2014 10:31

Ah I definitely don't envy you now Tiny. Got everything crossed for everything to be ok for you this time.

I googled, I shouldn't have. Argh!

TinyTear · 24/02/2014 10:42

Thanks.

Don't google. Google is bad for you!

FlipFantasia · 24/02/2014 10:43

Still bfing here too - dd will be 2 in a month. She has no intention of weaning - loves her mummy milk! Not ideal with sore boobs...I was bfing my son when I was pregnant with her and my milk dried up around 5 months and he self weaned (he was 20 months). I'm hoping she follows suit (I already refuse/distract her when possible, as otherwise she would try to nurse literally every time I sat down!).

Ikea, totally normal for him to want more milk/be clingy with teething and illness. Total pain for you of course but hope he's on the mend soon! Love your user name btw (we love our local ikea!).

We won't find out the sex. We didn't the first time (though I suspected a boy) or the second time (when I was convinced it was another boy and was shocked at birth!). It makes choosing a name so much more fun!

FlipFantasia · 24/02/2014 10:45

X posts - pebble, definitely step away from google!

Tiny, I really hope next week's scan gives you a bit of peace of mind. Have you had any test results or treatment for this pregnancy?

ikeaismylocal · 24/02/2014 10:46

pebble I had bright orange discharge once when I was pregnant with ds, it was like jelly almost, very odd but it was normal ( so the midwife told me)

tiny I really hope everything goes well for you this time, the worrying must really be amplified after experiencing miscarriages ( hugs)

I think we will find out the sex, I think another little boy would be fantastic as bedroom sharing would be easier as they got older. Dp is convinced we are having a girl ( he was convinced ds was a girl until our scan) so I think we'll find out so we haven't envisaged either sex and then feel that we had it wrong.

TinyTear · 24/02/2014 10:50

Flip I had test after the first 3mcs, then they were all normal. Had my daughter and 7 months later was diagnosed with hypothyroid, so wonder if that was an underlying issue.

I upped my thiroxine dose after the last mc (in October) and kept it up. Increased on BFP but only for a couple of weeks as bloods said I was now hyper... will re do the bloods on wednesday so will see how it goes.

FlipFantasia · 24/02/2014 11:00

Tiny must have been hard to be hypo and have a small baby! Hope the medication is tweaked well and working this time around.

TinyTear · 24/02/2014 11:16

Hell yes! I tried to tell my husband and he said my tiredness was just having a small baby!

Fortunately the GP sent me for bloods straight away and they results were so bad they called me to start medication the day after instead of waiting for my appointment the following week... this was about a month before going back to work and I realised there was no way in hell i could work when I was feeling like that...

now feel much better thanks... and hope this will have sorted things out...

Grannyapple · 24/02/2014 11:22

Just been to docs to register the pregnancy...it all starts to get a bit more real for me from here on in..

Bumpforme2014 · 24/02/2014 11:27

Morning everyone, gawd I was really relaxing now I am almost 8 weeks but then you hear about people having miscarriages at that stage and it makes me terrified again :-( can't believe it happened without a bleed tiny, you poor thing :-(

I called in sick today as doing a five day week last week almost killed me so decided four days is much more managble. Turned out I needed it as slept from midnight until 11am.

TinyTear · 24/02/2014 11:36

SOrry bump didn't mean to scare anyone...

That is why I tend to lurk here and stay mostly in the RM October thread....

TroubleAndFyfe · 24/02/2014 12:21

98% is much better odds Tiny, I hope the next scan brings you some comfort though I doubt I would be able to stop worrying until I could feel the baby moving every day. It's so odd to think of our mothers not having any scans...

sazzlehopes · 24/02/2014 13:27

Tiny, I don't think you scared anyone. It is good to be realistic, and it makes us feel grateful for what we have. I don't think any of us doubt how lucky we are to have conceived (especially if you've spent time on the buses, or infertility boards) yet at the same time worrying about it, not discussing things further ahead, the sex, nappies whatever will not change the outcome. Things don't work like that!!

Trouble i'm in east sussex too! I really want a wrap sling i think this time. I have an ergo which i like, but would like a lighter more comfy one if I'm going to run after my 3 year old round the house!

Puppy I have stuffed/pocket nappies and have found them good - they dry overnight. I have mainly bumgenius. And I agree, poppers last better, more tricky to get used to, but longer lasting for baby no2/3/4...etc etc hahaha! Vecro are easier though. I have a mixture and find that best.

I'm 8+4 today and have my midwife apt on thursday where hopefully I'll be able to book in my scan. Eeek! Oh and my belly popped out today. Properly. In the eve it has looked big, but this morning there is no hiding it. So glad I work from home and don't have to hide it from work colleagues. I'm quite slim with non existent boobs, so my tummy shows up pretty bad if i eat a big bowl of pasta!

TroubleAndFyfe · 24/02/2014 13:45

I looked pregnant in my swimming costume this morning sazzle! Stretchy wraps are so handy for popping baby in and out too - you only need to tie it once then just wear it all day. I'd like something like an ergo for DH though as he doesn't wrap and I think it's a shame he misses out on babywearing. He's not bothered though! We're on the coast, are you on the coast or inland?

Cakebaker35 · 24/02/2014 13:49

ohthegoats I'm just outside Oxford Smile lots going on in the area so a lovely place to have little people. My parents are about an about and a half away and dh's even further so we don't have loads of help on hand but manage somehow!

to everyone else and the newcomers. I'm 8+3 today and go through waves of being convinced I've had a mmc or something grim to forgetting I'm pregnant, I just don't feel it, apart from wanting to eat everything in sight. But I try to remind myself I was the same with dd1 and just keep away from doctor google as much as possible, it really is not helpful.

My gp booked my 12 wk scan and I won't see a midwife for at least another week or so apparently as there is such a shortage here and loads of babies due in sept apparently so they're still busy booking those mums in.

sazzlehopes · 24/02/2014 14:08

Cake - I'm the same, worry think mmc, think nothing, then be super confident and think why is there a reason for something t o go wrong?
I've decided worrying is pointless though it will not change anything! I am SO hungry too! Eep I hope there's only one in there!!

Trouble - coast too Grin big town!

sazzlehopes · 24/02/2014 14:59

Oh and OBEM starts night - who will be watching?!

Bumpforme2014 · 24/02/2014 15:11

I've waited ages for OBEM to start, it's my all time fav show, along with all other birth and baby shows lol be very interesting to see how I feel watching it now I'm actually preggars!

Loopylu84 · 24/02/2014 15:25

I can't wait for OBEM either! I'm intrigued to see if DH will sit down and watch it with me though!

akachan · 24/02/2014 15:26

ooh yeah I've always found stuff about childbirth grimly fascinating. I guess I will be watching it with a different frame of mind. I still don't feel at all like I'll get there though.
