Old thread is getting full so here's a nice new one for all our moaning, paranoia and getting each other through it. Can someone do the honers and copy our edd list over? Maybe link the old thread too?

Sorry to hear about those having problems, thinking of you.

I accidentally took someone's gin yesterday instead of water. Took a giant mouthful and then was (as per usual) panicking about what harm I'd just done. All the women there just laughed. So many women drink heavily before they even know they're pregnant, with no harm at all so I think we're safe!

I'm in Mexico, but originally from Yorkshire. Strange being away from home for something like this! My mum keeps recommending me ginger biscuits and salt and vinegar crisps for the sickness but it seems Mexico hasn't heard of them!

FlipFantasia · 23/02/2014 18:40

Puppy all in ones are great but can take a long longer to dry in my experience (I don't really use the tumble dryer and we didn't have a tumble dryer when we lived in the uk). Bumgenious etc usually dry faster (mine dry practically overnight!). Also I found my Velcro ones didn't last as well. The popper ones are definitely holding up better (I'm talking 4 years of constant use though!).

Interesting to hear where everyone's living! I'm in northern New Jersey, about 15 miles outside NYC (half an hour by train).

Bumpforme2014 · 23/02/2014 18:44

Hi everyone, went to a friends for lunch today the walking to and from tube exhausted me. I hate being this tired as normally a very active busy person so not being able to do stuff is so frustrating.

Interesting about telling your boss pebbles I am starting to think about doing the same as not sure I can handle another full week dragging myself in. If I tell him then at least I won't feel bad about calling in sick and being able to work from home, what does everyone think?

magichandles · 23/02/2014 18:47

Bumpforme2014 I was the same yesterday, I went into town to see an exhibition and the walk to and from the station plus walking around the exhibition wiped me out.

ohthegoats · 23/02/2014 19:09

I don't want work to be the first to know, so I'm not going to tell them until just before the Easter holidays. I'm a wearer of empire line dresses and leggings anyway, I think I can get away with it for awhile.

CareBearWithFangs · 23/02/2014 19:10

Pebble was it you who was doing the baby thing event this weekend? How did it go? You must be knackered.

Trouble that's what my plan is. DD starts preschool in September so hoping I can get something that means I can feed while taking her there and back if I need too.

I'm trying to be really good and not but anything (nappies/slings) until 12 weeks scan but I find thinking about that sort of stuff makes it all seem more real. I really struggled bonding with my bump last time and then with bonding with DD - only for a few months. I'm hoping it won't all be as much of a shock this time.

Also I'm already in bed, I'm that tired!

pebble82 · 23/02/2014 19:30

Yes that was me CareBear. I get tired anyway but this was so hard. It was lovely to have a proper look round though. Don't think I'll be buying half the stuff there is available. I feel a lot of brands take advantage of new mums but that is just my opinion.

TroubleAndFyfe · 23/02/2014 19:46

That's my opinion too Pebble!

Grannyapple · 23/02/2014 20:12

magic I too am in south East London (Bromley)-whereabouts are you?

bump in originally from Scotland (Glasgow) but as per above, now live down south. Has crossed my mind to consider moving back home but DH works for the underground so limited for jobs anywhere else in his field.

I had been panicking about how we'll cope with3 & pretty much assumed I'd have to give up work & put career on hold for a few years as no way we could afford 3 in nursery! But it might actually work out ok-if I take a full year off, DS will be starting school in sep 2015 so might work out ok. This is after I had finally come round to being a SAHM for a year or two Grin.

Re: symptoms...defo feel bloated/as if in showing already & only 6 wks so far. Boobs are ocassionally itchy but nothing major, & I ocassionally feel queasy if I'm hungry & especially first thing when I wake up..

..having a catch up with a friend on Wednesday to find what I've let myself in for having 2 15months apart! (hers are 13 months apart..)

DS is 3 tomorrow so we are in the midst of building his bike together & wrapping pressies/putting banners up...I'm hoping he at least has a long lie tomorrow morning after being at another party today but I fear his excitement may get the better of him...

MundayCakes85 · 23/02/2014 22:06

Evening all, I'm working a night shift Sad and am shattered already, don't know how I'll cope for another 10 hours!
Went out for a co-workers bday after work yesterday and she actually inspected my tummy when I said hello. DH bemused and now realises what I've been putting up with the last 6 months or so!!
I'm going to tell my mum next week, we have our scan in 2 weeks. We weren't going to tell anyone until after the scan but I'm sure she already knows. Got here a "I love nanny" babygro!! Grin

Neha1903 · 23/02/2014 22:44

Hi, please can I join in too?

So good to know that so many mums to be are due in October! I just found out last week, I was 5 weeks pregnant (first time). Totally freaked out by the 'morning sickness' which appears at random times during the day. I feel better knowing its not just me!
Waiting for my first appointment to find out more :)

ExcitedCJ · 23/02/2014 23:42

My boobs are about to explode and fly off my chest bouncing off the walls like uncontrollable missiles!
Horlicks before bed is helping me sleep better.
Working all weekend so no chance to catch up on the thread. Hope you are all OK. I'll read back tomorrow. Sleep well everyone. I ordered a sleep support tonight, a little early but I'm trying to get into the habit of sleeping on my LHS already & it might help.
Anyone used one they recommend?

officelady · 24/02/2014 06:26

Back to work today after a week off - how hard was it to get out of bed this morning?! And I have no idea how I'm going to get through the day without my afternoon nap Confused
Hopefully I'll be too busy to remember how tired I am!
Still grappling with my dilemma over telling my boss the truth, or lying to get time off for my midwife appointment next week. This morning I am leaning towards lying. At least until after I've had my first scan and I know for sure whether there is definitely an actual baby in there.
I can't believe how different being pregnant is this time around - with my first children I told absolutely everyone almost as soon as I found out myself, and we started buying baby stuff before the first scan. I wish I still had that youthful optimism!
Hope everyone has a good week x

BlueberryPoppy123 · 24/02/2014 06:30

Hi everyone :D I'm due October 14th still haven't made a drs app yet as only found out at the weekend! I've been testing since 10 days after ovulation and now in week 7 it's finally shown me a positive... This will be my second baby, the tiredness is just starting to kick in... May start taking naps with my son, the last few evening my breasts have been so painful and my skin has become ridiculously itchy as like my first pregancy I think a soap allergy has emerged :( exciting times!

BlueberryPoppy123 · 24/02/2014 06:32

and I'm in Hampshire by the way :)

Mrsthedog · 24/02/2014 06:49

Welcome blueberrypoppy123! We're EDD buddies! Huzzah!

I have some beautiful pregnancy paranoia going on this morning! 6+6 today and I am worried that I feel less 'in' than I did.

This is probably more due to the fact that I am going back to school today after half term, but I am enjoying the stress nonetheless...

ohthegoats · 24/02/2014 07:36

Paranoia here too today. 8 weeks 6 days, and horrible dreams and have woken up feeling not at all pregnant. Back to school, so it's good I'm not wanting to puke up my breakfast, but still. Paranoia.

TroubleAndFyfe · 24/02/2014 07:42

Sorry to all the teachers having to go back today, it's certainly easier being pregnant this time as a SAHM!
Excited I used a DreamGenii and found it brilliant. I recommended it to a pregnant friend recently who said it has stopped her aches and pains. I forgot about the left hand side thing. I may have to swap sides of the bed with DH but then I'm further from the loo...

olilos · 24/02/2014 08:27

Hi again everyone. I've been quite quiet on here as not much to report. Symptoms are there, but mild. First appointments this week. Hope everyone has a good week.

Oh and, i live in NW London. :)

TinyTear · 24/02/2014 08:47

Hello olilos where in NW London, I am in NW London as well.

Just caught up... been half trying to stay away as don't want to keep my hopes up too much, even though had one good scan so far (at 6+2)

One week until the next scan - should be 8+2 then...

Judging by the sore boobs when feeding my daughter I am still pregnant... ouch!
Anyone else still bf-ing?

TroubleAndFyfe · 24/02/2014 08:56

Glad you've only got one more week to get through Tiny! Little steps.
DS self weaned at 14 months so it's been a while here. He's 2 on Saturday!

TinyTear · 24/02/2014 09:05

I now wish my daugher would self-wean... she is 2 (and a few weeks) but still wants mummy milk on wake up and bedtime...

But i have started to say no at other times like when we are out...

ikeaismylocal · 24/02/2014 09:07

tiny I'm still breastfeeding my 14 month old, it has been really really hard so far, ds has started to feed all day and night and become hysterical if I'm more than 2 feet away from him. He has never been like this before, he's usually so confident and I'd have to offer feeds in the day or he wouldn't have any. He's ill and teething and I'm ill with the same virus he has so I'm hoping thatis the reason, if this continues I'm going to have to consider at least night weaning as I really can't cope :(

I know it's a long way off but has anyone decided if they are going to find out if your having a boy or girl ( if possible!) or if your going to keep it a surprise? I'd love to keep it a surprise but I think I'm too nosy ;)

MundayCakes85 · 24/02/2014 09:09

Well I survived my night shift and even managed to get around Tesco and home in one piece. Off to bed now, hope I can get a decent sleep. Have struggled recently with being uncomfortable and constantly needing a wee!
Good luck to those teachers back to work today and welcome to the newbies x

TinyTear · 24/02/2014 09:10

I will find out. I did with my daughter and want to again... i want to start thinking of the baby as a person, a he or she and not an it... if it makes sense
