Sorry about typos...on phone. The nappy rash is quite nifty, but obv not a snappy rash Smile

enormouse · 07/02/2014 22:34

You're welcome humpty, DS1 hated being confined but Cal absolutely loves it. They're all different wee things.

Yes to the starvingness while bfing. Dp has gone to heat me up some tinned rice pudding as I'm still hungry. I may take out shares in pringles and haribo. I promise I'm trying to stick to mostly healthy snacks. Smile

Finally got Cal to sleep. And DS1 at last, poor little man is all bunged up. I feel shattered now.

enormouse · 07/02/2014 22:38

Toby I know humpty has dibs on the swaddle, but could you tell me what brand it is and where you bought it? I'm on the lookout for some swaddles as I'm crap at baby origami with blankets.

TobyLerone · 07/02/2014 22:49

It's yours, Humpty, when I find it!

It's a Grobag one, enormouse, and I bought it 2nd hand on ebay.

Pidgy · 08/02/2014 03:31

Thanks sunshine for the compression tip. I had weird visions of performing a hand squishing mammogram type thingy!

Lara only feeds for Max 10 mins each time. My DS was the same. Think I must have quick let down. She's almost 2lb over birthweight by week 3 so hv said that's fine. So whoever asked above about length of feeds, I really think it varies.

The swaddle blankets we have are 'Summer' brand. I love them! Only way to get her to sleep in the day.

My PIL go tomorrow. They've been here since Monday and have really helped out but will be nice to have my house back and be able to feed wherever I want. FIL would die from embarrassment if I whipped one out in front of him I think!

Re: contraception. Anyone got experience of the implant? I read you can use whilst breastfeeding. I want it soon as don't want any more accidents. Lara was a very happy surprise but to be fair we should have been more careful!

Bunt you are so brave and lucky too to try for 5! Deep down I'd love a big family (3 is big for me!) but not sure id cope! I'm finding 2 quite tough at the moment! Plus I was a right moany bitch during my pregnancy but could be due to having an appendicitis and feeling like death warmed up for a few weeks!.

alteredimages · 08/02/2014 07:46

Yy about you being brave to go for five bunt. I am one of five and so I know I wouldn't cope. I do feel sad that my kids won't have the same ready made gang as we did. My sanity aside, the dealbreaker for us is the cost of education in Egypt, which makes two a stretch and three madness. Or I could get them to wash cars at traffic lights and have as many as we want.Grin

Sorry to hear about your DH's test toby. I hope you het there soon!

I made crepe batter but nour has woken up so can't make them! DD seems to think nour is just thick not a baby so is showing him how to walk.Smile

AnotherStitchInTime · 08/02/2014 08:49

I have a cotton grow bag swaddle you can have enormouse, pm me and I will post it to you. Mason isn't a swaddling type of baby at all.

MrsVDB · 08/02/2014 08:54

pidgy I had the implant before and was really happy with it. Did take a while to get pregnant after having it removed but that could of happened anyway so not sure

That's so funny altered must be confusing for them!

MrsVDB · 08/02/2014 09:27

Had our first poonami yesterday. I was changing the nappy and poo just started pouring out, every time I managed to wipe it up more kept coming!! Dh had to get kitchen roll to help. Then he did a wee fountain all over himself at the same time! (Baby not dh ha ha)

Also first hair wash which was a success and bath which he was less happy about and weed all over himself when we took him out in protest

At least I can tell the midwife today there has been plenty of nappy activity!

enormouse · 08/02/2014 09:57

Thanks Toby, there are loads there. I'll keep my ebay trigger finger poised.

another have pmd you. Thanks loads Smile

altered I'm sure DS1 thinks Cals a pet. He treats him like he does his grannys cats. Lots of heavy handed patting and pointing out noses, mouths, eyes. We're lucky the cats were hand reared.

BuntCadger · 08/02/2014 10:20

Nooooooo we aren't trying for 5. We just don't know that we won't. No chance if anything for a while I'm too tired and feel fat.

YAY for nappies MrsV. We have a points system here where Zachary scores 3 fir weeing or pooing on mummy. he's got a fair few points already Hmm he's quite sneaky and looks all thoughtful.

MerryPops · 08/02/2014 12:54

Well hopefully angel is enjoying baby cuddles now, or is at least nearly there!

Xander is having tummy troubles, very windy and stinks of egg and goes v red in the face, you can hear his tummy squirming. Got some Infacol which has helped a bit but no poo for 3 days, we are solely bf'ing now and I know they poo leaa but not sure if I should be concerned? Next mw appt not until Tues.

To get us through the last couple of nights we have been co-sleeping cue much tutting from mother and we have all had a decent nights sleep. It has made Xander very clingy though, not wanting to be put down all day. We may have accidentally found a solution today though, my travel neck pillow had been thrown in the completely unused for days moses basket and after we went for a walk we put him in the basket resting on the pillow. He has now been in his basket for 30 mins, the longest he has been out of our arms in days. High five!

MrsVDB · 08/02/2014 13:15

merry we have an eggy baby too and have been using infacol since the day we got home. Lack of poo was the reason I'm expressing rather than getting him to latch on as he just wasn't eating. Maybe call mw for advice as ours was worried about no poo for 24 hours.

MrsGSR · 08/02/2014 13:28

I haven't caught up as I'm very sleep deprived, but hoping for some advice!
Breastfeeding is going really well, but she is cluster feeding all night, last night from10pm to 8am without going more than half an hour between feeds. I am so tired! Shes done this for the last 3 nights. DH took her downstairs this morning so I've had a few hours sleep but during the week he works long hours so I don't want to wake him. She's fussing whilst feeding and unlatching herself frequently so even cosleeping didn't lead to any more sleep! All I've read just says it's normal, which led to me breaking down in tears as I don't think I can do another sleepless night!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 08/02/2014 13:31

toby you are an angel! thank you.

merry we have the same, straining, red face, no poo on 48 hours regularly, but when it comes it's soft. I'm not too concerned, as she's putting on weight and wetting nappies regularly.

I had the implant, but didn't get on with it, made me bleed a lot. I had the copper coil which I intend to go back to, the lack of artificial hormones improved my skin and mood and energy levels immensely. Have to wait until 6 weeks pp to get another one May wait longer as not sure I want anyone poking around there soon but I loved the last one. Also no fertility implications as no hormones.

Angelesque · 08/02/2014 13:44

Helloooo... V quick one while I have escaped the endless monitoring hospital ward. I've been back in today for more tests and they've diagnosed pre-eclampsia Sad - very borderline (it's taken them hours to make up their minds - but no lovely MLU water birth which I'm gutted about. Probably due to now being 11 days overdue! Baby is all fine though which is the main thing.

Induction at 6pm tonight... Hoping to finally meet our little one tomorrow! Any tips for induction...?

MerryPops · 08/02/2014 14:24

Thanks for the poo advice everyone, we have just had a poonami of epic proportions with an added spray wee for effect, so that will have hopefully have got things moving again. Like someone else said, can't believe I am so excited about poop!

Don't think I'll fancy a curry for a while, mind.

Percypiglet · 08/02/2014 15:16

Hello all, random question but does anyone get really sore nipples when you feel cold? It really hurts!
Still only producing 10mls breastmilk on each expressing, poor child would starve it wasn't for formula. Now on fenugreek and GP prescribed medication to increase breast milk supply. So depressing when your body doesn't work properly!

BuntCadger · 08/02/2014 15:17

mrsg - can you sneak to bed in the day or snuggle baby in bed and read/watch TV etc so you can snooze. I just went ape shit at dh. finally got Zachary settled as he's cluster feeding velcro baby like everyone's here and his total lack of parenting our 2 and 6 year old meant they woke him. Sad I banged plastic jug down so hard i broke it Blush

BuntCadger · 08/02/2014 15:18

I don't think the amount expressed reflects the amount the baby takes as they are much more proficient at getting the milk .

Felix90 · 08/02/2014 15:34

Just catching up quickly as we are at the in-laws!

Angel good luck for your induction. The only tip I have is if you end up on the drip, make sure you request any pain relief you have in mind ASAP as the drip ramps your contractions up like nobodies business! I requested an epidural quite near the start and by the time it was administered and started working I was in so much pain. Also take lots of entertainment as you will probably be waiting around for things to happen. You'll have your baby soon, how exciting Grin

We are going to take Sylvie to the drop in centre soon. She's still having tummy problems but I'm sure it's not wind, and now she's come out in a rash on her face and down her neck. Totally convinced its milk intolerance so will see what they say.

TarkaTheOtter · 08/02/2014 15:44

Let us know what they say about the rash felix as Alex has exactly the same thing. From googling I was hoping it was "erythema toxicum" and would just go away. It's pimply and quite red and angry looking. Having given up carbs when pregnant I will be PISSED OFF if I now have to quit dairy.

Felix90 · 08/02/2014 15:59

Hers are pimply too! They only appeared after I stopped bf and changed to formula. I hope they don't just try and tell me it's wind because it's definitely not!!!

MrsGSR · 08/02/2014 16:49

percy my whole breast hurts when it's cold, very annoying!

bunt I'm trying to sleep during the day when she does, but she tends to sleep at really awkward times so I'm either busy or physically can't sleep as I'm overtired!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 08/02/2014 16:53

angel my tips are to ask for pain relief as soon as you need it, don't wait 22 hours like I did, I was too tired to consider not taking the epidural. The pessary pains can be bad enough to need help.
Oh and take films/magazines as it's hard to concentrate through it DH seemed to think the Times crossword was ideal entertainment for induction

bunt I'd have broken more than a jug. Nob.

Still no poo. 36 hours on Poowatch, considering asking Chris Packham to spot me while I nap...
