I third the sleep angel.

was it here someone suggested white noise app? I used it after bath tonight and I don't know if Zachary was just super tired or the app working but he slept in his crib long enough for me to get dd and ds2 in bed with stories, song and nurse dd. made such a difference to the household, just giving that bit of 1-1 time.

Zachary finished his antibiotics now so I'm doing nights solo as no need for dh to draw up medication. means he will be more rested and it works for us as one adult tired is enough.

I'm going to try and take dd to dance group tomorrow which is a bit daunting but I plan to sit and nurse Zachary throughout. dh dies morning school run which will help. Mondays are mad here as ds2 can't stay at school x for lunch and he dies morning and afternoon. session on a Monday so lots of things and froing.

ds1 birthday is Tuesday and he will be 14! I can't believe it's gone so quickly.

I really rambled there Grin sorry x

Evening/ morning all!

Lara is in sleep suits most days except for a party when she wore tights and a dress (highly impractical) and we also have some leggings and tops which are actually quite easy to put on and off.

Know what you mean about struggling to poo. Lara grunts and groans in her sleep when she needs to go and then eventually does. Often picking her up gets things moving. Her poos are very liquidy so think it's a case of her learning which muscles to use.

Felix90 · 10/02/2014 10:01

Angel the same happened to me. Was told they could break my waters then there was an influx of ladies in labour and I was pushed to the bottom of the pile until the next day Sad hopefully it will quieten down and they can see to you.

Bunt I am the white noise app advocate! Seriously it's amazing. She also falls straight to sleep when DP puts the hair dryer on in the morning. It's funny to watch.

Had a better night with Sylvie last night. She didn't wake up once with tummy pains and just woke up to feed at 3 and 6. We've been giving her gripe water since yesterday, and also changed to 'comfort' formula (and I caved and gave her a dummy yesterday Confused) so not sure what exactly has made a difference but something is working! Although as I type this she's laid next to me pulling her legs up and grunting/trying to push. Also she did three poos on her own yesterday, yippee!!!

Felix90 · 10/02/2014 10:04

And she just filled her nappy Grin

Frizz1986 · 10/02/2014 10:36

I agree with the poops and straining. Aurelia looks in awful discomfort which i think is her trying to fart! Then all of a sudden exploding poo! Its sounds like her bum is blocked and then she manages to break the seal. Its a really strange sound.
She gets hiccups lots too and they make her cry!

Bad night last night. She woke loads and wouldn't settle. I cried a lot!

First solo day for me today. Olivia has been a bit unsettled this morning but has fallen asleep now. Aiming to go shopping in a bit, hopefully it will be ok.

fryingpantoface · 10/02/2014 18:40

Ive still not had a solo day with the kids. That is saved for Next Monday when my mom leaves the country

flyawayblue · 10/02/2014 20:23

Had a lovely day but feeling like crap now as Alice had bad wind and can't settle. I've passed her to dh but feel like a failure as I can't make her better.

Sorry for the pity post.

fryingpantoface · 10/02/2014 20:49

Don't feel bad fly Henry gets like that too.

if we were breast feeding he'd be cluster feeding. It isn't fun.

i think he wants to just be close. I cam never work out what he wants

BuntCadger · 10/02/2014 20:54

fly - they all get like that. I've passed Zachary over just for me to recoup and take him back. often really quickly

flyawayblue · 10/02/2014 21:54

Thanks, think that's part of it. I am mostly breastfeeding and all she seems to take from me today is milk, not cuddles or comfort. Rationally I know she's just saw or grumpy but it's hard to belive that while it's happening.

Also my bleeding has ramped up today so generally feeling pathetic.

Hope I don't feel like this tomorrow as dh is out all evening for his work leaving do. Had a few hours by myself but this will be the first evening.

Forgot to say earlier angel I hope you have baby cuddles now and the long induction is behind you.

Frizz1986 · 10/02/2014 23:03

Hope thinhs are going well for you angel

I have been massaging aurelias belly for most of the eve, resulting in giant poops and lots of farts. We even had wee coming over the top and put of the sides as she had just done a poop that filled the nappy and there was nowhere for it to go. Yay pee jeans again!

So atm we have the moses basket in whatever room we are in as we havent figured out her sleeping yet (she normally sleeps long in the day but not in the eve)
Are we making a rod for our own backs as should we be putting it in our bedroom in the eve and leaving her on her own so she gets used to it.
We tried it one night and she lasted 15 mins before she woke up and yelled and then she didnt go back to sleep.
We normally just take her up when we go to bed.

Long nite here Sad w year old thrown up all over her bed poor thing. All. she wanted was mummy and Zachary been permanently latched on or screaming. he's been sick several times and poonamis so thunk he might have bug too. It's ds1 birthday today as well and me and dh going to be knackered

BuntCadger · 11/02/2014 01:06

2 year old*

TobyLerone · 11/02/2014 02:16

Oh, bunt, that sounds like a nightmare. Hope everyone has a swift recovery and DS' birthday isn't too badly affected. Bleach everything!

frizz, I don't believe there's any such thing as making a rod for your own back with a newborn. They don't follow the rules and we do whatever we need to do. You're doing bloody well to have her sleeping in the basket at all!
Babies don't start to realise until they're about 4 months old that when we disappear we're actually coming back. Newborns think we're gone forever as soon as we leave their sight. That's why sleep training a newborn never works.

Hope you're ok, angel.

I'm dying of tiredness!

MrsVDB · 11/02/2014 03:10

frizz that's what we do too. I thought due to the SIDS risk they were supposed to sleep in same room as you including for naps?

MrsVDB · 11/02/2014 03:14

The last 2 nights I have woken up grabbing dhs head and trying to pull the cover up on him to keep him warm. When I'm half asleep I'm convinced he's the baby! First time it took him waking up and telling me he didn't have the baby for me to realise ha ha. They look very similar but I'm sure I should be able to tell the difference!!

Angelesque · 11/02/2014 05:31

Short but sweet update - Finn Thomas Sullivan (Sullivan is second middle name) born today at 2.41am by EMCS (eek) - 9lb 9 oz. He's the most beautiful baby I've ever seen.

More to come once I've slept...

Pidgy · 11/02/2014 05:45

Oh bunt hope you're all ok. Not what you needed. Xxx

Bad night here and terrible day yesterday. At one point all 3 of us were crying! Made it out to a toddler group which was fine but once we got in was when it went downhill! Oh well.

This is probably a bad thing to say but not sure i'm really 'enjoying' these past few weeks. Just surviving each day. Lara is so needy compared to how my DS was! I could put him down and he'd look around and coo. She looks at you for about 20 seconds and then the crying begins. She's a good sleeper as long as she's being held which is tricky! My sister came up yesterday afternoon and held her for 3 hours and she just slept. If only she'd sleep like that at night.

Keep telling myself it's just a phase!!
Hope everyone else who is tired (everyone it seems!) and struggling is ok. We will get through this and look back with rose tinted glasses ready for the next bubba!.

Pidgy · 11/02/2014 05:48

Congrats Angel!!

Love the name! (I might be biased tho!! Have probably outed myself but I'm sure I've mentioned DS name in a post many moons ago).

Looking forward to hearing your birth story and hope it wasn't too stressful with the section. Hope you're both ok. X

fryingpantoface · 11/02/2014 05:58

Congratulations angel!

TobyLerone · 11/02/2014 06:20

Congratulations, angel!

pidgy, Meredith is the same. She rarely seems happy if she's awake, and she only sleeps properly if she's being held or is in bed with us. It's hard, and I sympathise.

Felix90 · 11/02/2014 07:26

Yay congrats angel! Is this the last baby to arrive then?

Frizz1986 · 11/02/2014 07:37

Yay angel

pidgy it's the same here although she does sleep in her basket at times. She seems to always wake up and just look around or cry. My boob is often the only thing that settles her so I think she feeds when she isn't really hungry.

Oh bunt that sounds horrid. Hope things get better

Well me and Dh have proved our sleepiness today. Dh gets up at 6 to leave at 7:20. Aurelia stirred and we both woke up looking at the clock and it was 7:05! Both slept through and thank god she stirred.

Congrats angel, lovely name. I hope it wasn't too scary with the induction then emcs - few of us have done that route recently if you need to talk.

At the moment enjoy finn cuddles and don't try to do to much Smile
