Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

felix I hate those tiny, fiddly buttons. Especially the ones on the neck. Much of my life is spent chasing DS1 trying to do those up (or persuade him that being without trousers is not the done thing). Having said that the sleepsuits that do up in the back came in really useful when he hit his (mercifully brief) undressing and taking his nappy off at night phase.

I like Cal in soft joggers/leggings and tops (h and m and asda are great) or sleepsuits and vests (sainsburys imho are the best). I do have a few proper outfits for when he hits 6 months or so.

BuntCadger · 09/02/2014 14:24

sleepsuits here too, much easier. my fab are next ones with the fold over hand bits for when he's flailing. I think we will stick with sleep suits for months to come.

got lovely friends over today and they've gone to park with our kids and theirs and dh so just me and Zachary. he's still feeding almost constantly. I repeating "it's a phase"

fryingpantoface · 09/02/2014 14:38

I don't use the fold over scratch mittens, Henry doesn't like having his hands covered! It's rubbish because i really have to keep on top of keeping his nails short

TobyLerone · 09/02/2014 15:32

Definitely sleepsuits. I hate separates on babies because they ruck up round their faces and you constantly have to pull them down/straighten them. The exception is poppered long-sleeved tops like vests. They're acceptable.

MrsVDB · 09/02/2014 16:12

frying Henry is the same, I think his long arms don't help. He's dressed in a woollen romper today but will brave the trousers once his cord has fallen off

MrsVDB · 09/02/2014 16:17

Just looking at how to register Henry and it says ill need his national health number, any idea where I'd get this from?

TarkaTheOtter · 09/02/2014 16:27

Is it on his red book?

Naturegirl82 · 09/02/2014 16:39

Olivia just threw up for the first time. She looked so confused bless her.

Felix90 · 09/02/2014 16:41

MrsV have you had any letters from health visitor etc for appointments? That should have the NHS number on. May be in your red book too.

MrsVDB · 09/02/2014 16:42

Don't have my red book until the hv comes on Friday so hopefully get it then :)

fryingpantoface · 09/02/2014 17:32

It's also on the hospital band if that helps?

you don't need it to register, just makes it easier

MrsVDB · 09/02/2014 18:18

Ah ok ill have a check thanks frying

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 09/02/2014 18:52

angel how's it going?

bunt we are turbo feeding today as well. Convenient with visitors, isn't it? I've managed to answer the door with her latched on though, so that's fun.
Trying to decide whether to brave BCG clinic tomorrow or wait until she's less unhappy during the day.

The tights and dress combo lasted two nappies then we reverted to sleepsuit. But we do have a photo of the dress (DM present) and tights (friends present, multi tasking, oh yes!) which means we never have to bother with either again.

TobyLerone · 09/02/2014 18:54

We were never even asked for Meredith's red book/nhs no/our own birth certs/proof of address etc, all of which we were told we'd need.

Angelesque · 09/02/2014 19:27

STILL on induction ward; no induction of any kind happened as they've been too busy for the last day and a half. I'm not a priority which I guess I should be grateful for, but it means I'm going nowhere. Barely any contractions today either so I feel like today has been completely wasted...

On the bright side, my blood pressure is down. They've also just moved the girl from the next cubicle who went from waiting for her caesarean to waters breaking and screaming bloody murder in an hour... Selfishly I'm glad they've finally managed to move her to the delivery suite as it's been bloody awful listening to her sobbing in agony. Particularly as when she was examined she was only 3cm...

Another night on the ward I guess! #bored

TobyLerone · 09/02/2014 20:04

:( angel. Sorry you're having a dull time. You'll be wishing for boredom soon!

Sultanajo · 09/02/2014 20:05

Yup sleep suits here too!

Angel! Omg! Really feel for you! Being on ward sucks enough once you have had little bubs, but hanging around with no definitive end to aim for must be so frustrating! Come on baby Angel.... Let's get a wriggle on for your mum!

fryingpantoface · 09/02/2014 20:14

angel it was like that for me. Well, kinda. One of the women in the ward went from 2cm to 8cm in an hour and was in agony. She sounded like she was mooing. It wasn't nice to listen to

TobyLerone · 09/02/2014 20:19

Humpty, I found the swaddle wrap. It's blue and white striped, hope you don't mind that! I won't be offended if you don't want it :)

PM me your address, either here or on FB and I'll post it in the week.

MrsVDB · 09/02/2014 20:52

angel it must be so frustrating but it's good news about your blood pressure

Embarrassingly that was me making a scene at 2cm on induction ward! One of the ladies who was there saw me when waiting for discharge and said they all felt sorry for me the next day which is so embarrassing as I was trying so hard to be quiet!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 09/02/2014 21:09

toby don't mind in the least, thank you! Will PM.

angel can't they send you home? How silly to keep you in if not inducing! Agree you'll long for boredom soon. Watch a film while you can!

MrsV me too, but in my defence, I did 22 hrs with no pain relief at all, from 0-4cm, and in agony from pessary pains!

MrsVDB · 09/02/2014 21:28

humpty that's impressive! I'd had paracetamol, gas and air, pethodine and epidural by 4cm! After the midwives saying I had a high pain threshold it really didn't pan out how I'd planned! Thought I'd sneeze him out

Angelesque · 09/02/2014 22:19

Thank you guys - it's lovely knowing there's a bit of a lifeline I can whinge to while I'm stuck in here! Need to get my contractions going and waters to break while I'm waiting I think... Any tips?!

MrsVDB · 09/02/2014 22:37

angel Henry is feeding every 30 minutes to an hour this evening so I'm sure ill be around! Bouncing on the ball was the best thing for my contractions. Although it might be worth getting some sleep while you can

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 09/02/2014 23:22

angel gotta say I second the sleep plan,I wish I had.
Otherwise, sideways up and downstairs is meant to work. I did five flights ten times and it did move me from irregular to regular ctx.
