Hi
This is a thread for people due in October with past miscarriage issues, so we don't scare the 'regular' October people and we don't annoy the RM thread with our pregnancy talk...

TinyTear · 06/02/2014 08:47

oh my goodness, I am on an October 14 FB group as well (from the babycentre) and there are people there who aren't even pregnant?????

They should ovulate about 'now' and so it means they will be due at the end of October so in the group...

The naivety!!! the optimism!!
The innocence...

Madness!!

Tiny blimy! I wince at the POAS advert where she's telling her mate (DH always points out is could be a close relative) 2 weeks in before she's due on!
Joining a group before you are actually pregnant. Just wow.

TinyTear · 06/02/2014 09:02

I know... amazing... So far my husband, doctor and one of my best friends are the only people who know in real life... Will tell work tomorrow or next week but only because if I mc again I will probably be off for 2 weeks and need my boss to be aware this will be a possibility

OP posts:
Tumtimes1 · 06/02/2014 10:18

Tiny thats exacty the only reason I told my boss too. Either way (Whatever the outcome) they would find out so I thought I might as well let them know. It also means that whist I am signed off I don't feel guilty or have "the fear".

My next scan is 14th Feb. Why do they have scans on a friday? Why? Why? Stupid. I will never understand it... Fingers crossed all is ok. If its ok at 9.5 weeks I think I may tell my best mate. But we shall see. So far only my ma and pa and Sis know.

How's everyone doing today?

mum2kiss · 06/02/2014 10:19

Hey ladies :)

I havent read back but say tiny's post on another thread which made me realise I belong here!!

I had a mc 15 years ago and had my.first dc 5 years ago. I have an edd of 11th october this time around and I am currently on permanent crotch watch!! Terrified about dtd, exercise, and anything else that requires a little exertion!

I mc'd at 15 weeks so I wont even begin to relax until we pass that marker!!

MrsDinoRawr · 06/02/2014 10:28

Hi everyone. I am here thanks to TinyTear who pointed me in the right direction. I put my post in the wrong thread - really hope I haven't scared everybody in the Oct thread :(

I need to have a read through the posts on here - but I saw the OP and it sounds like a good idea for a thread.

I used opks all month as my cycles have been really messed up since my miscarriage in October and I didn't know if I was even ovulating. I used to be quite regular 29/30 day cycles. But have had 36 and 43 day cycles since.

This month seemed to be back to normal. Got positive opk on CD17. By 9dpo I was starting to see the line getting darker again which was either another surge or possible pregnant... By 11dpo the lines on sainsburys hpt came up within the time but were faint (With my last pregnancy they came up after 10 mins but had to take the tests apart to see them). I did a clearblue digital on that evening - Pregnant 1-2 weeks! Have done loads of tests (poas addict?) and they are getting darker every day.

On Tuesday at 1am I wiped and there was red blood (It was my 30th birthday - great present!). I went to work but started crying and they sent me home. By midday the blood started to turn brown with occasional red blood. It has not been enough to fill a pad at all and is really only when I wipe. I am still spotting today - but there is hardly anything there and it is brown not red (hoping this is good). I am 5 weeks today. Last time I was about the same time but the bleeding was as heavy as a period and red with some clotting. I have had no pain or cramps. I have been sick every day for the last week. I don't know what to think. I have booked a doctors appointment for 9.50 but I know from last time that they wont do anything until I get to 6 weeks. The other thing that is worrying me is that the school I teach in has had a few cases of slapped cheek (including a child in my class) which can cause miscarriage.

I am trying to stay positive and telling myself that spotting can be common. Clearblue digital went up to 2-3 weeks yesterday (when I had my miscarriage it didnt get past 1-2 weeks and I miscarried at 6 weeks).

Update - just been to the doctors. He said nothing they will do until 6 weeks so he has booked me an appointment for next week - said if I am still bleeding it will be to book a scan but if I am not it will be to book an appointment with the midwives. So here starts the long wait until Friday.

Hope everyone is doing ok - I am going to sit and have a read through the thread now. (Sorry for my VERY long first post - will make them shorter in the future)
x

TinyTear · 06/02/2014 10:45

Good luck Dino
I hope it was just implantation or non-bad bleeding... i know someone who has a 3 months old girl who lost a twin at 7 weeks, but one of them was fine in there and things worked out really well...

Hello mum2kiss, i like 'crotch watch'... know the feeling... every single drip in CM makes you run to the loo to check...

One day need to update the member list and ADDs and all... unless someone is bored and can do it
Grin
I am allegedly working from home because of the strike...

no, not allegedly, I am doing some work

Dino if it is spotting and has turned to brown and your hcg is rising fx it's just a bleed.

Mum2kiss Hi! Yeah crotch watch... tell me about it. Grin

I am getting sick of crisps, bread, ryvita and cheese. Sadly my body feels sick if I eat anything else. Any ideas for food variety? I'm eating plenty and keeping most of it down, just like someone off freaky eaters. Fingers crossed I'm a typical 'worst ms at 6-8 weeks' lady Blush but if I am I'll be frantic week 10 when I can eat what I like lol.

TinyTear · 06/02/2014 10:57

babybels kept me going in my last pregnancy... and ginger biscuits

OP posts:
MrsDinoRawr · 06/02/2014 11:05

squizita - am keeping my fingers crossed. I told deputy and head at school on Tues that I was bleeding and they sent me home and told me to rest. As the bleeding has almost stopped I will go back to work tomorrow. Need to think 'Today I am pregnant' and at home I am just sat thinking I am home because I might be having a mc.

I am feeling the same about food - all I want is dry savory stuff. Bread, crisps. Strangely I am ok with milk! If I have chocolate I am sick. Shame as it was my 30th on Tuesday and there is quite a lot of my moms famous chocolate fudge cake and loads of her ice cream cake left.

I am worried that I am not eating anything much that would be nutritional for the baby.

squizita · 06/02/2014 11:10

Dino I am eating limited variety too, but I think that is normal for the first trimester. Bean is tiny so doesn't need huge amounts of food and provided you're taking folic acid docs seem unconcerned.

Tiny babybels are currently a whole food group of their own as far as I'm concerned.

tannyLoo · 06/02/2014 11:18

Oh Dino poor you! I always have my MCs around 5-6 weeks, closer to 6, and it's horrible because no one seems to want to take concerns seriously. I think the reality is that they can't see anything at this stage and can't do anything, but it feels all wrong. I've heard people say that bleeding without cramping is better than with, so I hope it calms down and you get some good news next week.

Welcome Mum2kiss too. It's nice to have some more new bods to be paranoid excited with!

Squiz I totally agree with Tiny on the Babybel front. I have some in work and some at home. Those and mini sausages Blush. I'm mostly eating them and Dr Karg Emmental and Pumpkin Seed crackers, but if this pg carries on, I will have to change, as when MS kicked in with my other successful pgs, I couldn't do "bits" in anything and was reduced to Ritz crackers and satsumas!

I'm in a completely head-fuck zone at the moment. Boobs are still big (the grew even bigger overnight) which must be my hormones rather than the progesterone, and the smell of coffee seems to have gone from "mmm, heady aroma of dark roasted loveliness" to "yuk, burnt soil - why would I ever?", but I am having loads of cramps, which have always preceded MC before.

squizita · 06/02/2014 11:52

FX Tanny if it's any comfort I had all the same twinges and cramps as usual before loss a couple of weeks ago, but nothing came of it, as scan on Weds showed. Must have just been bits moving around.

TaytoCrisp · 06/02/2014 12:50

Hi Dino - what a tough few days for you. Fingers crossed that that is the end of the bleeding, and the blue lines stay put..

Hi MumtoKiss. I will be with you are you aim to pass the 15 wk mark.. one week/day at a time. Welcome!

Less paranoia here today after a good sleep last night.. And the heparin injections are not so bad as i had remembered... Still on countdown til 8 week "viability scan" in 12 days time.

This working from home is great!I can't logon when at work in my tiny shared office!

SweetPeaPods · 06/02/2014 13:32

I are loads of mini babybels when pg with ds. Only thing I have gone off so far is my morning cup of tea. After half a cyclizine tablet I'm fine.
Feeling a bit odd today, not sure why. I'm actually really terrified of having another mc.

mum2kiss · 06/02/2014 14:03

Called to make my booking in appointment this morning. Its not until 12th march!! I will be 9+5 by then! Seems a lifetime away!

tannyLoo · 06/02/2014 16:25

Could crack out the maternity tights but that would only jinx things to cover my windy belly. Totally look 20 weeks. If only!

SweetPeaPods · 06/02/2014 18:28

Mum2kiss my mw appt is at 9w3d so must be the norm.

Tumtimes1 · 06/02/2014 19:26

Guys is the booking in appointment the midwife meeting? I haven't booked mine I am 8w2d. Does anyone know when I should book in? Xx

SweetPeaPods · 06/02/2014 19:38

Depends on your area but where I live I would try to arrange an appt soon. As after your booking in appt your mw will arrange your 12wk scan. But yes it's your first appt with mw. Basically loads of form filling, plus height, weight, I think they took some blood and urine too. That's where you will be given your antenatal notes.

SweetPeaPods · 06/02/2014 21:34

I am aching all over. Really not sure why. My legs, my tummy, my back. It's really odd but going to have an earlyish night if your listening ds and see how I feel in morning.
Hope everyone else is feeling ok.

Handsfullandlovingit · 06/02/2014 22:06

Hope you get some sleep and feel better tomorrow sweetpea. It could be anything, no panic. I'm just 5 weeks but starting to feel the tiredness setting in.

Yup tum I would get thee to a midwife or at least log it with gp so you are brought into the system ASAP. Our midwife is dotty and liable to forget you, so I will do much shouting this time.

I have wind and twinges all over my pelvis. It messes with your head. Loving crotch watch. Sounds like it needs a theme tune. Jaws theme seems appropriate...

TaytoCrisp · 06/02/2014 22:07

Good plan Sweet, an early night does wonders.

Tum The booking appointment is the first meeting with midwife where they go through all your details. It can take up to an hour (or maybe that's because i had a midwife who was very nervous about typing and couldn't navigate the screen and dialogue boxes well..) In my area the booking appointment and scan are arranged at the same time. I rang my GP and they gave me the number to call. It would be good to make your appointment soon.

mum2kiss · 07/02/2014 07:26

The reception at my surgery said that the booking in appointment can take up to an hour.

She also said appointments go like hotcakes so to make an appointment right away

fedupofrainydays · 07/02/2014 07:39

Yeah you norm book in around 9 to 10 weeks. My doc arranged the scan date when I register the pregnancy with them / get mat exemption etc. but that's how they do it in my area.
Booking in is v dull (I took DH with me first time as thought would be fun in my naive days) and is the first in a long line of urine and blood tests!!

So feeling v sick today. I think I'm 4 plus 4 so still ridiculously early. Been managing to go to the toilet (no 2) without too much fear. The crotch watch is still constant.
