Hi
This is a thread for people due in October with past miscarriage issues, so we don't scare the 'regular' October people and we don't annoy the RM thread with our pregnancy talk...

Hey Fedup, pleased to see you here.

If you're anything like me, then you probably feel like you'll be back on the ttc board in a few days! It's just pants, this early bit, and we are all gibbering wrecks. Sorry, that's not very helpful!

There is talk of psychologists, mindfulness and counselling here at the moment, which might help.

Tiny has a post it at work that says "TIAP" - today I am pregnant - I've stolen her idea and it has helped me...

We're all here for hand holding.

fedupofrainydays · 04/02/2014 22:17

Thanks ladies... Oddly it's comforting that we are all in the same situ and you haven't got someone 38 weeks bleating at you that it will all be fine!

At this point with my last bfp I had spotting so an holding on to fact that I've no blood yet.
Tanny - did you stop testing / did lines get darker? As I Recall you were worried.. Same happened to me this morn. But I'm having pricking in my boobs and lots of milky cm (which makes me run to loo stressing!) which are both good signs.
Love the post it idea - what do you say if someone asks?! Let's think of another acronym it can be...

Well I'm busy all right... And prob a few mins go by without thinking about my pants! I've got a lot on and actually this month was very inconvenient for a bfp which I think it's why I have it Grin

Handsfullandlovingit · 04/02/2014 22:29

The Important Activity Proceedure? Think Important And Proceed?
Throw Igloos And Party? Theatrical Infants Aren't Pleasant?

I am worrying about no spotting fedup, we are the opposite! If we can find something to worry about, we sure will. Tanny gibbering wreck neatly sums me up at the moment. I'm trying to lose myself in my little choir, do you think I can get a bunch of 5-11 years olds to do a convincing 'Gimme Some Lovin'? I'm going to try, just for a laugh.

Hurray for inconvenient bfps!

Handsfullandlovingit · 04/02/2014 22:30

The Infinitely Amazing Pants. I'll go to bed now.

tannyLoo · 04/02/2014 23:11

Hmm I'll have to try and think some up. In my work we have acronyms for everything, no one will bat an eye!

Fedup yes I had 4 days of weak tests without much sign of change, so by this time last week I was convinced it was going to be a chemical pregnancy. I felt so low.

After talking to an EPAC nurse about it all I started trying to rationalise it. I really can't control my body or the pinhead ball of cells, all I can do is support it as best I can for these first few weeks. They'll see me for a scan anytime after 6 weeks, and I know the support from them is there.

I made myself get up and go to the loo in the morning without turning the lights on so I wasn't tempted to poas, but I did test again this morning and got a nice clear line.

In reality, so many things can still go wrong, but I can cross CP off the list. Confused

JBrd · 05/02/2014 09:45

Wow, look at you all chatting away! I don't check for one afternoon and evening and promptly have to wade through pages and pages of posts Grin

tayto Like the others said - hang in there! I am amazed they agreed to scan you this early, to be honest, they should know that at this stage, it is very rare to see anything! Not all is lost, so much is happening in terms of growth at this stage. I once had a scan where they also could just see the sac and nothing else, and only a week later, there was a heartbeat.
And if I may give some advice - stop testing!

squiz Fab news, this is excellent! I was thinking of you yesterday and had everything crossed. I really hope that you can manage to relax a bit now.
Also great news for you tum! Get some rest now, make most of being signed off.

5+3 today, and I have gone in auto-pilot mode, putting my head in the sand and trying to ignore that I'm pg. This outward calm is interspersed with moments of panic when I'm convinced that I am heading for another mc Sad
DH asked me yesterday 'Do you feel pg yet?' and no, I don't Confused

squizita · 05/02/2014 10:10

Jbird Thanks. Don't wobble too much about not feeling pg at 5+3 ... I was nothing but slightly swollen boobies then. Didn't feel it at all. Got all worried. Now I'm queazy as anything and have a brain like mush. Also DH pointed out I'm looking a bit 'filled out' compared to usual possibly the epic wind.

SweetPeaPods · 05/02/2014 10:36

I'm at a day spa today for mil's bday with both sil. Trying to hide the fact I feel very queasy, look very bloated on top of mummy tummy from ds and trying to quietly ask for decaf coffee is not easy. DH doesn't want to tell them for a few weeks.
They will be very happy but surprised at small age gap so hoping they don't suspect today. They might guess when I don't have bubbly with lunch or don't go in hot tub mind.

JBrd · 05/02/2014 10:42

Sweet You need some stealth and distraction tactics! How about telling them that you have mild food poisoning? Then go into great detail about diarrhoea and vomiting, to put them off asking any further questions Grin. That will also then help to explain why you don't want to drink alcohol (although a small glass of bubbly won't hurt!) or do some of the treatments. No one will question you not going in the hot tub if you have an upset tummy.

SweetPeaPods · 05/02/2014 10:59

That's a good idea. Dodgy tummy bug from ds possibly. Hence feeling queasy and bloating, and no hot tub! Don't think I could stomach the bubbly even if I wanted it!!

TinyTear · 05/02/2014 11:11

TIAP Today I Am Pregnant

Can also mean "today I am pantchecking"
[Grin]

Just in the waiting room at my GP to get in the system.
Took a second test today and the lines came up really quick and strongly...

Feeling positive

And hello everyone. Hope the tube strike isn't messing up your plans if you are in London.
I work from home on Wednesday so I'm ok but tomorrow will need to brave it all...

Paranoia of the day: people saying "I'm 9 weeks and can't do any of my clothes up I need maternity clothes" (!!!) I am 8+3 and still in my regular clothes. My tummy looks a bit bloated but am deffo still in normal clothes territory. I don't even think I've put on much weight - at the hospital my weight was similar to normal post xmas.

TinyTear · 05/02/2014 11:44

Just been to the GP. Got the flu jab straight away. Now on my way to get blood tests. A random glucose one and a thyroid function one. My pulse was a bit high so tomorrow need to get it checked again.
And he was lovely and actually called the epu for me and booked me a scan at 7+2 on the 17th.
Feeling good!

nearlyreadytopop · 05/02/2014 14:30

10 weeks for me and I don't notice a difference in terms of clothes. I think at this stage the uterus is still tucked down in the pelvis so its perfectly normal not to notice. I was however eyeing up maternity jeans as those big over bump bands look so warm and comfy.

bakingtins · 05/02/2014 14:36

Ladies - hello! Can I appeal to those of you who regularly posted on the RMC thread to keep us updated with how you are doing? I don't want to stalk you all here but I miss you! I can understand you don't want that whole thread to be about pregnancy after RMC when there are people still going through testing, but there's a happy medium somewhere.

TinyTear · 05/02/2014 14:40

I think i needed new jeans at about 10/11 weeks last time, but i didn't look pregnant until at least 17 or 18 weeks

JBrd · 05/02/2014 16:01

Squiz Remember, every pregnancy is different! Honestly, I think it's perfectly normal not to show before at least 12 weeks, esp if it's your first! And be glad if you are not putting on much weight! It will come, don't worry Grin

I put on over 3 st with DS, and it was such a pain to loose it again, took ages. Because for me, it didn't 'just drop off' after giving birth, like for some lucky people (not that I'm jealous or anything). But eating was the only thing that kept the sickness at bay in the 1st trimester, and then I just carried on... Not good. I'm really hoping to keep the weight gain at bay this time!

SweetPeaPods · 05/02/2014 17:41

JB I'm exactly the same with weight gain. Hoping running around after ds I won't gain as much!

Can't remember when I started wearing my mat jeans last time but it definitely wasn't before 12 weeks, prob around 16 weeks.

fedupofrainydays · 05/02/2014 19:39

I can remember not being able to wear pencil skirts and tights quite early on but I wasn't in mat clothes for a while with ds. Mainly cos I didn't tell work will I was 15 weeks so just wore loser clothes. I have a short body so it sticks out quite quick.

I put on a stone in first trimester but was literally cos I are none stop as was only thing that didn't make me feel sick! In total I was 3.5 stone! One stone was easily lost the other 2.5 I had to work at...

My paranoia today has been doing a poo. Sounds crazy maybe. But last mc I started spotting when I did a number two. I managed to go which was a bit painful as not gone for a few days out of fear. Fortunately it also pushed just clear / milky cm out as well. Thank god. Sorry for the tmi about my bowels but been so scared!

squizita · 05/02/2014 20:11

Fedup I had that too- the fear of poo. Thankfully some dry fruit and veg-rich dinners stopped the straining.

Handsfullandlovingit · 05/02/2014 20:57

Weight - gained a stone after the last one we lost just before the 12 week scan. Carbohydrates cure my morning sickness. It's not gone, whereas with the other two I have breastfeed the weight off without too much effort. I will have my work cut out after this pg, starting at a disadvantage!

fedup glad to hear your bowels are in order. Any trip to the loo is terrifying at the moment.

My efforts to be Mary Poppins failed mahoosively this evening. Kids were revolting. Not entirely sure I deserve another baby.

tannyLoo · 05/02/2014 22:34

Fuck me! Who donated their huge knockers? They clear the bath water by a full couple of inches!

Thank you progesterone pessary inventor x

tannyLoo · 05/02/2014 22:36

Unfortunately it's viewing only for DH as I think he'd get an involuntary slap if he touched them...

TaytoCrisp · 05/02/2014 22:42

The first time I was pregnant I didn't need mat wear until about week 22! The second time it was about wk 16; the third time about wk 12. This time... I'm not yet sure what will happen.. But if I get past wk 8 I think I will be looking for roomy clothes soon after!

I get a strange restless legs/heavy legs feeling when I'm pre mestrual; also got it prior to last mc. And feel like that tonight. Perhaps a bit paranoid but I think I better have a rest.

Glad to hear of the positive experiences today. Keep well ladies!
