Hi
This is a thread for people due in October with past miscarriage issues, so we don't scare the 'regular' October people and we don't annoy the RM thread with our pregnancy talk...

Only 1 test! I wish I could!!
I've lost count, must be 5 or 6!

TaytoCrisp · 04/02/2014 13:01

Waiting in car park to head in for scan. Sudden feel quiet emotional and shakey. Need to get a grip here.. Right.. Water...,

TinyTear · 04/02/2014 13:07

Good luck Tayto!

Good luck Tayto!

Handsfullandlovingit · 04/02/2014 14:55

tayto I've been thinking of you. Hope it was a lovely experience. I will be a jibbering wreck when it is my turn.

TaytoCrisp · 04/02/2014 15:18

Thank you so much ladies.

I'm afraid it was really not what i had hopef for at all :-(.

The sonographer identified the gestational sac and yoke sac but no heartbeat..:-(. BUT she did say it is really still very early, and if my cycle was delayed at all, it just might be too small to see yet.

My consultant was so nice and didn't focus on this, saying that really it was still to early to see for sure. He gave me the heparin so I will start them tomorrow anyway.

I now have a scan booked for 2 weeks time.. If I don't mc before then... God, it just feels like such a mountain ahead right now.. I really wasn't expecting this limbo already...

Anyway, still hopeful and anxious.. But unfortunately not as happy as i was before today's scan.

I hope everyone else with scans around now had a more positive experience.

Handsfullandlovingit · 04/02/2014 15:28

Oh tayto you poor sausage, how terrifying. I do hope they are right about it just being too early. Have a hug.

Tumtimes1 · 04/02/2014 15:33

tayto this was a six week scan wasn't it, so yes still really early and a good chance of being ok. Sending you much support and also positive vibes. I know this next two weeks will be hard - would they see you at 7weeks at all? Save the wait being two weeks?

Tumtimes1 · 04/02/2014 15:35

So I went to the doctors today and bawled my eyes out and have now been signed off work for a week. The doctor said I must try to relax and work is not helping.

She sent me for a scan and after a 4 hour wait (!) I was seen. The baby is alive which I couldn't believe and is measuring correctly for it's age. 8 weeks. I have NeVeR got past 6.5 weeks so I am feeling very shocked. So it seems it makes no difference if symptoms come and go. Lesson learned.

TinyTear · 04/02/2014 15:36

Can you ask them to see you next week?
6w is quite early so the heartbeat may come in the next couple of days

oh tayto I really hope its just too early. With ds I was told I had a blighted ovum, 2 weeks later there was a hb and now a fab 2 yr old. Don't give up hope just yet.

Hunnyangel80 · 04/02/2014 15:42

Tayto I had a scan at 6 wks and they told me I wasn't pregnant went back 2 wks later and there was a lil heart beating away. Good luck ladies I hope u all go on to have beautiful babies sprinkling baby dust xx

TaytoCrisp · 04/02/2014 15:51

Thank you so much ladies. It was a very early scan - 5+6. And as I was using the opk I know the cycle was longer than usual, so im going to focus on this and the positive thoughts and stories above. Thank you.

Many congrats tun, that's great and nice to have a good scan story today too ;-). And a great sign to be further on than ever before.

Heading back into work now for an hr.. Thanks again for the lovely supportive messages which make a big difference.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

tannyLoo · 04/02/2014 16:21

tayto, stay positive if you can. I think a yolk sac is good, when I had a BO there wasn't one.

tum, I'm really pleased you got a scan and signed off for a week. I hope both these help you to stay strong.

squizita · 04/02/2014 16:29

Tayto sorry to hear it was an anxious scan. As others have said, it is early enough that no HB is normal and in 2 weeks you may well see one! Fx!

Tum lesson learned for me too. 8 weeks, normal HB, seen on the external scan. Midwife referred me to specialist psychologist for pregnancy anxiety, but said given my history it was to be expected.

SweetPeaPods · 04/02/2014 16:36

Sorry it wasn't as you had hoped Tayto. But 6wks is early. I think 2 weeks wait is normal, when I've been to epac with first 2 mcs they scanned me and saw me 6 weeks later as they are checking for reasonable growth.
However in the recurrent miscarriage clinic they scanned me every week!
I should be 6w2d when they see me so not sure what we will see -/fingers hands toes everything crossed--

SweetPeaPods · 04/02/2014 16:37

Great news Tum, sounding very positive.

TinyTear · 04/02/2014 17:40

Tum. Just saw your post. Yay for an 8w one. Stats are much better now...

Fab news squiz! Tell me more of this psychologist! I would be interested in that side of things as I ally struggle at times with this stress wise.

TaytoCrisp · 04/02/2014 18:50

squiz really good news re: ur scan!

If you don't mind, please do share any new anxiety mgmt tips from the psychologist. You have a very interested audience here!

Millysdream · 04/02/2014 18:58

Tum seems like we are in a similar position. My last scan was just over 8 weeks at last scan and never got to this before. Congrats. Try to hold on to this good news as long as you can xxxxx

Tayto please keep the hope. A scan in a week would be better if you can push for it but depends on your state of mind. Do whatever you need to do to get through to next scan then you can get your answers. Fingers crossed all will be ok and you can stop worrying for a while at least.

fedupofrainydays · 04/02/2014 19:18

Tentatively sticking foot in the door... Hello.

Fedupofrainydays, 1 ds, ttc #2 for 15 months, 1 mmc at 12 weeks in feb 2013, and 1 mc at 5.5 wks in dec 13

Currently going mental and physically shaking when I go to the loo petrified of seeing blood. Feel exhausted after the emotions of just one day knowing I'm pregnant, any tips for surviving?

fedupofrainydays · 04/02/2014 19:20

Sorry forgot EDD 14 oct (ds birthday - which makes it more scary as don't want to doom that date. First mc EDD was DH's birthday :(

Handsfullandlovingit · 04/02/2014 19:27

Hey fedup well done for venturing over. I have no tips for staying calm, though a big pack of chocolate buttons has helped, oops. I am just trying to treasure each day that I'm pregnant with this little one. Also keeping crazy busy might help!

squiz and tum that is lovely news and so encouraging.
