Hi
This is a thread for people due in October with past miscarriage issues, so we don't scare the 'regular' October people and we don't annoy the RM thread with our pregnancy talk...

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

So jealous there are so many of you out of the first trimester. Envy my due date is not til mid oct!

nearlyreadytopop · 14/03/2014 12:32

16th april for my 20 week scan. I have 16 week midwife appointment next week and hopefully they will do a doppler check. If I can't get a quick doppler check with a midwife at 18 weeks I will book a private reassurance scan. My latest mc was at 17 weeks though the baby stopped growing at 13. I know technically I'm further along with a live baby now but 17 weeks is a bit of a hurdle in my head. Maybe after that I can start to relax and enjoy this pregnancy.
I hope the first tri goes quickly for everyone in it now.

fedupofrainydays · 14/03/2014 16:48

Scan went ok today. Cried again! I'm 9 + 3 and the little one was waving its tiny arms and legs about! Hopefully now I can hold out for another 3 weeks til 12 weeks scan. Feel so emotionally drained again, I'm knackered. This pregnancy after mcs is so hard as we all very well know.

Hope everyone doing well today.

Hi all, I had an incomplete miscarriage last October when i was 8 weeks, which ended with me having an ERPC. I'm pregnant again and due on 6 October, I'm currently 10+4. I haven't really posted on either of the October 2014 threads as I wasn't sure which one I belonged on as I've only had one miscarriage but also didn't feel upbeat enough for the other thread.

Anyway I've started bleeding again and feel so scared. Only when I wipe and it is brown and slightly stringy, but I also have dull period type pains but this is just how it started last time and I've got an awful feeling its going to happen all over again Sad I had awful diarrhea earlier this week and started to feel less bone tired, that was worrying me but I hoped it was just because I was coming to the end of the first trimester.

I spoke to the midwife who has booked me into EPU for a scan but they can't see me until Wednesday. Can't believe I have to wait that long to find out if I have lost another baby Sad

Foxsticks · 14/03/2014 17:51

I meant to add that I had a private scan at 8+3 and everything was developing normally, there was a heartbeat and I was measuring correctly. It makes it almost harder knowing that Sad

fedupofrainydays · 14/03/2014 18:02

Hey bugs any person who was on their first pregnancy would be like 'hurrah, I don't feel sick, not throwing up, not that tired etc etc' but for those of us with tough journeys (and 3 mc for you?) it makes it so awful as the symptoms (even though they don't mean anything really) are the only thing we have to cling to without a daily scan.

But you have seen a HB and a normal looking embryo at previous scans AND had no symptoms at that time so it could just be your body's way of dealing with this preg.
Pleased you have moved the scan forward - good plan and I really am hoping for the best for you.

fox, hi. That is cruel to make you wait til Wednesday - can you phone up EPU direct and say you are bleeding and can you come in on Monday? My EPU you can self refer but I know all are a bit different. I feel for you though. As it must be so tough if it was how your mc started last time. Have you had any scans yet so far? There are people that do have bleeding and it is all totally fine but as you already know, not always. With me it's not been the case but there are people in this thread who have had bloods and it's been fine. Fx for you but definately try move the scan forward by phoning EPU. Good luck

Millysdream · 14/03/2014 18:18

fedup am do pleased for you. Hope you can relax and enjoy the next few weeks at least xxx
For those asking about scans- I had one at 6 1/2 weeks due to bad pains, 8 1/2, 10 1/2, 12 1/2, 15 (private), will have one at 16, 18(private) then 20 1/2. I have booked in another private one as am going in holiday a few days after it and want to relax on a sun longer and chill out. Last year was the year from hell. My first year of marriage full of miscarriages and heartache. Thought we deserved a break :)

Foxsticks · 14/03/2014 18:20

Thanks Rainy, I didn't know you could self refer. There wasn't a number in my book for EPU when I was looking for the midwifes number earlier. She did say they were really busy at the moment though which is why they couldn't see me until Wednesday.

I did call the private clinic this morning and they said they could scan me on Monday. Money is pretty tight at the moment though and I thought if I have to wait until Monday I may as well wait until Wednesday. I'm already regretting that decision though I think! I guess I'll have a pretty good idea over the next 48 hours anyway, it's just a horrible waiting game isn't it? Sad

I'm trying to stay positive, I know bleeding doesn't always have to be a bad thing. I think the cramps are scaring me more at the moment. They are persistently there, and different from the stretching twinges you get with your uterus growing.

Maybe I should try and get the private scan booked? You have to pay £100 when you book though, and if i bleed heavily over the weekend I'll probably regret not waiting. Plus that will mean I've given that clinic £300 in total, which is a bit galling.

SwimmingMom · 14/03/2014 18:35

Hi Fox, sorry to hear about your situation. Just wanted to say - if you are able to locate a 'baby bond' centre at travelling distance they scan for £90 with £30 to pay at booking. Also they scan on Saturdays & are accommodating for those in distress by giving them immediate appointments where possible. I hope you find one. The wait until Wednesday is too much to ask!

fedupofrainydays · 14/03/2014 18:45

Where are you based fox? If it were me I would go for the earlier scan. EPU act like an A&E for pregnancy so weird that they should say that. Mine see you on the day call up. I would give them a call on Monday morn and see if you can go in.

fedupofrainydays · 14/03/2014 18:47

Google your local big hospital as they should say where the early preg unit is and a number.

Foxsticks · 14/03/2014 18:59

I'm near Guildford, thanks Swimming, I'll see if there are any of those clinics near me.

I'll give EPU a call on Monday Rainy. I think this morning I was just so pathetically grateful they would even give me a scan. Last time I started miscarrying on a Friday too and called Friday, Saturday and Monday and was just told to wait it out and if the bleeding got heavy to go to A and E. I ended up booking a private scan because I couldn't bear being told to wait anymore. It doesn't sound like my hospital is that great when it comes tp miscarriage compared to others.

fedupofrainydays · 14/03/2014 19:06

Ah so yours is Royal Surrey. Near me too although mine is St Peter's. Yeah. All EPUs would say that for the weekend as they don't open then but I would have thought they would see you on Monday. Fx they do unless you go for private over the weekend. St. Peter's (chertsey) charge £60 for their private scans but pretty sure they don't have space til Thursday pm (I know cos I phoned up yesterday and bagged today's last appointment!)

fedupofrainydays · 14/03/2014 19:08

Found it for you: Royal Surrey Early Pregnancy Unit Tel: 01483 571122 extension 2321

Foxsticks · 14/03/2014 19:15

Thank you Rainy, you are really helping me with this. I'm actually booked in at Frimley Park but do you think I could call Royal Surrey? I'll try the place in Chertsey too, the private one I could go to is in Guildford, and they are open tomorrow so I could book a scan for Monday tomorrow I think.

fedupofrainydays · 14/03/2014 19:54

Hmmm you should prob try and move your frimley one forward as other hospitals may not take you if booked in elsewhere unless you were staying far away from home. Might be wrong tho! Otherwise do the private one - you need to be seen soon, for your own sanity. I know how awful it all is and just really felt for you having to wait til Wednesday - too long!

WanderingGecko · 14/03/2014 20:04

Bugs, I understand a little how you feel. I just don't feel very pregnant this time at all. But it being my second pregnancy, I don't exactly have a wealth of experience. Hope you get good news soon.

Fox, I really feel for you. Hope you can get them to squeeze you in on Monday.

So pleased for you Rainy at your scan result. Smile

My cramps didn't get worse and have stopped so am hoping it was something and nothing. Doctor said to monitor and get back to them if any worse but it is probably just normal. I'm hoping that they might let me have an early scan due to lack of symptoms. Not sure I'm brave enough to take a Clear Blue test and check how far along it reckons Sad

In the meantime, hubby has made me smile by buying me alcohol free beer and presenting it in a big heavy German beer glass Smile

squizita · 14/03/2014 20:09

Tum SNAP! Due date buddies!

Fedup :) Great scan news!

Bugs fx for you. I had similar wobbles but my scans were OK.

Fox :( What a horrible time of uncertainty. I hope you get seen as soon as poss.

Gecko Cramps... so scary. Hope doc is right and they're nothing.

WanderingGecko · 14/03/2014 20:16

Cheers. Midwife ap on Monday so will try to get an early scan to set my mind at rest.

I'm not due til Oct 30th! Envy

Tumtimes1 · 14/03/2014 20:32

Right - I have been convinced to also book another private scan and I chose baby bond as recommended on here. Only 59 quid as opposed to the usual 100 I am used to paying so that makes a bit nicer. I have booked it for the 27th march where I will be nearly 16 weeks pregnant. Ahhh I feel better now with only 2 weeks to wait. Has anyone else used baby bond? What was your take on them?

fedupofrainydays · 14/03/2014 20:40

gecko definately don't POAS again. They aren't accurate and can give you a false picture so don't do it. I gave myself POAS hell last pregnancy so vowed not to POAS since first (two) bfps and I've stuck by it. Been tempted but haven't.

My EDD is 14 oct. Same as my sons birthday so hope this one works out not least for that reason. Although I'm not really calling it my EDD until I have my 12 week scan (if get there... But am feeling slightly more positive today)

My first mc EDD was same day as DH bday which was pretty awful when his bday came around. We were on holiday (deliberately) so softened the blow a little... But then I got my period and DH got food poisoning. Bit comical really but definately wasn't at the time. I was trying so hard to not be too miserable on his bday but them went to the loo to find blood and it all caved in.

WanderingGecko · 14/03/2014 20:56

Thanks Rainy. Had never thought of it until I read someone else using one on here today. I won't! I did 4 POAS at the very start of this pregnancy just to convince myself!! Blush

Glad you are feeling more positive. Fancy being due on your son's birthday! My brother-in-law's son was born on his birthday and their daughter was born on his wife's birthday!

What a rotten experience you both had. I was very fortunate that I got my BFP this time on my due date. The day was otherwise very difficult as one of my close friends gave birth that day and we were initially enjoying being pregnant together.

TaytoCrisp · 14/03/2014 23:39

Great news re:scan rainy!

gecko very thoughtful of ur DH! Do let me know if you find a non-alcoholic beer that u'd recommend.

fox hope you can get seen on Monday. Thinking of u.

Hi to everyone else. Off to bed, I think I am always last to bed on here. Must get into the bunk earlier!

SwimmingMom · 15/03/2014 01:03

Tumtimes1 - I used babybond for my 7 week scan and found them great! Nice people & good service. Also the most affordable for most scans.

Fox - there is one in Kingston which is probably closest to you. I've used Heathrow branch & they are open on Saturdays & Sundays. Good luck.
