Hi
This is a thread for people due in October with past miscarriage issues, so we don't scare the 'regular' October people and we don't annoy the RM thread with our pregnancy talk...

Tiny I am so sorry, that is terribly unfair. I hope things go as smoothly as possible for you and wish you all the best luck next time.

fedupofrainydays · 06/03/2014 09:46

Having a panic today as boobs are less sore. In fact not sore at all. Has anyone else experienced a drop off in soreness?

tiny thinking of you xx

squizita · 06/03/2014 09:51

Fedup yes my sickness and sore boobs 'faded' (but not smoothly or evenly, some days a drop in pain other days not) from about 9 weeks, was in a panic but turned out to be related to my placenta growing quickly.

Had a scan yesterday and all was well at 12 weeks. Baby was very mobile and placenta sturdy. FX it carries on like that.

fedupofrainydays · 06/03/2014 11:09

I guess am stressing as I'm only 8 weeks and doctor said tiredness and sore boobs were better signs than sickness and although I'm knackered my sore boobs are much less!

Yay for good scan! Mine was ok too - I must be about 8 + 3 now. Next one is the biggie at 12 weeks if I get that far / don't go nuts.

squizita · 06/03/2014 11:12

Fedup my symptoms have always varied day-to-day, so don't worry! :)

JBrd · 06/03/2014 11:57

fedup I have never had any sore boobs in any of my pregnancies, successful or not, so can't help here. But my sickness varies daily, I think most symptoms are really volatile. Tuesday I felt like death regurgitated, yesterday I had no sickness at all, and today it's back, although not too bad (yet). I really don't think that any symptom is a reliable sign!

Is anyone else also really hungry all the time?! I currently live for mealtimes, it's really embarrassing. Counting down the hours to lunch and dinner Hmm. And that's on top of me having to graze constantly to keep the sickness at bay. But I nearly had a go at DH yesterday when I got home and dinner wasn't ready, what was he thinking?!

nearlyreadytopop · 06/03/2014 13:52

jbrd I have eaten a lot this pregnancy, even with the sickness. Mostly carb loaded food.
great scan news squizSmile
Another scan for me tomorrow, I should be 14+3. I am dreading it. Apart from tiredness and very occasionally nausea my symptoms have goneSad

squizita · 06/03/2014 15:03

I've started to be hungry recently.

Also having a wobble as my CM is darker today (ie not clear, creamy, and looks yellowy buff dried on the pad which I thing 'is it drops of blood?') Oh well sanity lasted 24hr.

JBrd · 06/03/2014 15:32

nearly Oh, yes, it has to be carbs. Or cheese, the saltier the better. I almost ate a whole jar of green olives the other day, I am really craving salty food now. Don't fancy sweets at all - which would normally be a good thing, but I'm replacing them with carbs now.

squiz What have you eaten in the last 24hrs? Remember, that certain foods can give your CM different colour 'tinges' (beetroot is a classic example), as can some medication. Or hydration levels can have an effect, too. So it might well be that, please don't worry about this.

I'm currently munching my way through oatcakes and am starting to get fed up with them. But I have nothing else - I really need to stock up my desk drawer at work...

fedupofrainydays · 06/03/2014 17:29

Is anyone else really hungry but don't know what they want to eat? I've gone off more than I crave. Fish, meat and sweets are out. Beige is in. Plainer or cheesier the better. DH asks me what I want for dinner and I can barely offer much other than pizza or pasta!

My cm does that squiz. Changes in colour and also thickness and texture. And I've stared at my knickers a lot to assess all of these!!

squizita · 06/03/2014 19:03

I think it's my medication and folic acid tbh. It makes my wee yellow (lots of vit B) so why not my CM? Thanks guys :)

JBird DH let me loose in the crisp, nut and savoury biscuit aisle at Tesco. it was like a frenzy.

Fedup I have developed a love for primula spread on toast + cream of tomato soup. The last time I ate that for tea I think I was six!!

Shirehobbit · 06/03/2014 19:24

Crisps, crisps and more crisps, please Blush

I don't have sore boobs, but I am knackered and feel generally bleurgh/nauseous. However, is that because I'm pregnant or because I'm running around after DS?

Trying desperately not to symptom spot, that way insanity lies, but I'm failing miserably.

SweetPeaPods · 06/03/2014 20:49

Really gone off food here, no appetite and the blander the food the better! Beans on toast tonight and it actually went down very well.
I'm also exhausted, really not sure if it's the pg or just run down with ds as both full of cold.

picklebum2011 · 06/03/2014 21:07

Salt and vinegar squares and crackers are food of choice tonight. Anyone else going off fruit? I keep forcing myself to eat at least an apple all day but it does not taste nice and I just can not face a banana!! Crazy times.

TaytoCrisp · 06/03/2014 21:20

So exhausted here too.

And constantly hungry! Got a fine Italian 3 course take away tonight to treat DD and as DH works late on thursday. Decadent but so very nice.

Got a date to go to st Mary's for a cervical stitch in a few weeks if all is well after the booking scan. But DH is abroad for important meeting so i don't really have anyone to accompany me. Such a pain! It's general anaethestic and I have no idea how long I need to stay after. And they don't tend to be forthcoming with info eg. What will it cost, do I need to stay overnight, can I o back to work the next day? It's a bit frustrating. Anyway, I wil see - he could be in London in the late afternoon which might do. I just wish they wld send me some info on the procedure do I ok what to exect in terms of time off , cost and post surgery routine. Because I am 5 fours from London I rarely have face to face consultations so maybe that's why I get so little info.

If anyone has any info on planned cervical stitch procedures (in particular modified cervical clerage), please let me know.

TaytoCrisp · 06/03/2014 21:22

Meant to say - modified shirodkar cervical clerage.. Though any info on experiences of this procedure - direct or indirect - would be great! Thx.

fedupofrainydays · 06/03/2014 21:25

Yes pickle - gagging on my banana and cereal was actually what made me do a test. Totally went off bananas!! Mango is ok but that's it... Other fruit just makes me feel queasy. Some people crave fruit but I'm all about the crisps and pizza!

Sorry tayto I've no idea about stitches. If DH can't come with you can you not ask a relative or friend? Generals are a bit scary so nice to see a friendly face afterwards. Plus keep you company with all the hanging about. Had one for my erpc - horrid!

TaytoCrisp · 06/03/2014 21:25

pickle I only ever have a fondness for fruit during pregnancy. Funny how changes in preferences are so random and individual. Have kiwis and oranges in my fruit bowl, which is usually quit bare!

TaytoCrisp · 06/03/2014 21:32

fedup mango - now that sounds perfect. I must get one for my bowl!!

Re: stitch, I don't have any of my own family in the uk, and am 5 hrs by train from London. Did think of a friend but it would require hotel stay night before, plus day off work, plus return train. So a bit of an ask. Mum in law is option if it comes to it. but you are right, it would be good to have a friendly face in the wings. Wish DH could back out Of meeting, but it is an important one so i don't really want to ask him to...

fedupofrainydays · 06/03/2014 22:01

Hmm tough one. Any RL friends in London? I'm SW London so would consider coming with you - but that's a little weird given I don't even know your real name. Ur.... I'm here to hold taytocrisp's hand. I would probably be arrested!
