Hi
This is a thread for people due in October with past miscarriage issues, so we don't scare the 'regular' October people and we don't annoy the RM thread with our pregnancy talk...

Hello pregnantagain and welcome...

Are you being offered any early scans?

Pregnantagain7 · 03/03/2014 10:09

Hi tiny
No not been offered any early scans to be honest I only called the midwife on fri have been too nervous of jinxing things before!
Not sure about brave I think slightly crazy! There will 13 months between them if everything goes to plan am trying not to think about it too much! My bfp was a bit of a suprise a lovely suprise but I must admit a small swear word may have slipped out! Couldn't be happier now though :)

TinyTear · 03/03/2014 10:21

I think the question is, would you want early scans... for me I wanted them as the not knowing is worse... and the bleeding starting at 10w and 8w was quite a shock. so even though it was terrible to go to a scan to be told there was no hb and no growth past 5 or 6w at least it wasn't the 12w scan... so i have fought for early scans in my last pregnancies.

I am saying brave as my dd will be 2y9m when this one is born (all going well) and I am struggling to see how I will fit it all...

But I guess you have more children so you are used to bigger chaos Grin

Pregnantagain7 · 03/03/2014 10:31

Totally understand why u would want early scans especially because of the way your mcs happened. With mine I started bleeding at 5-6 weeks and passed everything there and then sorry probably tmi! I'm kind of hoping (praying) that I maybe out of my personal danger zone now but as everyone knows nothing is ever certain.
Am still on constant knicker watch and every slight cramp has be panicking however am trying to positive and embrace the nausea ha ha! X

Pregnantagain7 · 03/03/2014 10:33

And oh yes chaos rules in this house!! :)

picklebum2011 · 03/03/2014 11:08

Congrats pregnant wishing you a boring sticky pregnancy.
I don't get paid if I have time off so another reason to wait as if not good news I would need to take time off, horrible having to be so negative. Does anyone knows how many wks 2-3 on a clear blue means? Is it 4-5?

TinyTear · 03/03/2014 11:14

I think it is 4-5 yes, add 2 weeks.

But personally i wouldn't trust the digis that much... concentration varies throughout the day

Last time I had a digi and it actually goes blank after a while, so you can't keep it... i opened it up and saw it si basically two normal strips, a scanner and one battery and the scanning of the strips gives the message pregnant and the weeks...

Pregnantagain7 · 03/03/2014 11:15

Thanks pickle! I got 1-2 weeks on a cb when I was 2 days late which works out 4 weeks and 2 days so would guess at 2-3 being 5-6 weeks if that makes sense!:)

picklebum2011 · 03/03/2014 11:32

Thank you... Not sure what to think now. Has anyone else been getting headaches?

TinyTear · 03/03/2014 11:35

No headaches here, but my latest worry is a small lump on my armpit.

A quick google (i know i know) says it is common in pregancy or could be sign of an infection (and I have been nursing a cold for 3 weeks, better now just the odd snotfest). I think I willw ait until I have the results of the scan tomorrow and then go and see the GP with it. this will also give it a bit more time to go or grow...

Pregnantagain7 · 03/03/2014 11:50

Yes pickle headache central for me! I found upping the amount I'm drinking helps a bit and paracetamol when they're really bad and as much rest as poss (know that's not always possible!) hope you feel better x

picklebum2011 · 03/03/2014 11:57

Good luck for scan tiny. And ahh to google. It is prob hormone related.
Thanks pregnant yes trying to rest isn't easy as have dd and work part time, not going to moan love having days with her.

I also get headaches quite frequently when pg, and I think they are mainly due to low blood pressure - something I also struggle with when not pg. Staying hydrated is very important, especially if you work in a place with air conditioning.

Welcome pregnant! You might want to ask your midwife or GP if you could get referred for an early scan - with your mc history, they might well want to check things out before 12 weeks.

tiny If you are currently fighting an infection, it could definitely be a swollen gland or lymph node, very common. I agree that probably best to keep an eye on it for a few days, before going to the GP.

pickle As far as I remember, the Clearblue calculates from ovulation, but I might be wrong here (it's been a while since I have used them), so you will have to add 1-2 weeks to the date shown... But don't hold me to it. It should say something about that in their instructions, might be worth checking?

picklebum2011 · 03/03/2014 12:05

Thank you for responses, can't help worrying as only had them in my first pg which I then missed miscarried at nine weeks.

Tumtimes1 · 03/03/2014 13:11

Hi all, I am very pleased to say that my 12 w scan went well. I have been put forward to 12w 3d. Yaya so 3 days for free. My new EDD is 12th September. I am feeling very happy and hoping that this really is it for us. xxx

TaytoCrisp · 03/03/2014 13:13

Great news Tum!

Welcome Pregnantagain.

Fantastic news tum. Yaay.

juniorcakeoff · 03/03/2014 13:59

Congratulations tum that is fantastic news. Hopefully you may be able to relax a bit now? And welcome pregnantagain hope you have a relatively calm next few weeks!

I have been brave and booked in (apparently can't get a 12 week scan without doing so). The appointment was pretty hard as the poor MW hadn't heard of some of the million things that have occurred/gone wrong in any of my previous pgs. Have got a date for the 12 week one - now on scan doom countdown again. Squiz have you had yours now? Think you are a couple of weeks ahead of me?

fedupofrainydays · 03/03/2014 14:08

Yay tum hooray!

Wow... I'm a little jealous of these people past the 12 week mark already... Feels like an eternity til I will get there, if I do. Odd how I wish my life away.. But I found I did that in the 2 ww too when ttc for so long.

Just arranged my booking in for two weeks time. I should be 9 or 10 weeks by then.

Having a lie down... Mum has come round to look after ds. Really struggled last two days with MS do this is a welcome break.

fedupofrainydays · 03/03/2014 14:12

Oh and pickle... I never had head aches til this pregnancy. Maybe my first preg I had them too. I think it's a normal sign of pregnancy too. Try not to worry but I know it's much easier to compare what happened to the mc times...

fedupofrainydays · 03/03/2014 14:16

And hi pregnantagain

I've got my second Scan tomorrow... Starting to feel nervous again. Should be almost 8 weeks...

TinyTear · 03/03/2014 14:31

fedup we are a similar levels...

tomorrow (according to dates from the first scan) I should be 8+2

What time is your scan?
Mine is at 10h30, but I am counting on it being delayed
