Hi
This is a thread for people due in October with past miscarriage issues, so we don't scare the 'regular' October people and we don't annoy the RM thread with our pregnancy talk...

Great news Milly Thanks

TinyTear · 13/02/2014 11:49

Just had a call from my GP about my thyroid test results and it seems I am now taking too much thyroxine (I upped my dose on BFP)

So to go back down to 150mcg instead of the 175mcg I am currently taking...

Scan on tuesday, so in less than a week i will know how things are progressing...

have taken the higher dose for just over 2 weeks so let's see if it helped...

after the scan on tuesday then i need to either make an appointment or just request a phone call with him and he can then refer me to the midwives and stuff. in a way it's good it hasn't happened yet as it means if things go bad again i won't have the worry of cancelling all the appointments and scans...

6+4 today, scan will be at 7+2... nothing more to do than wait and see

I have a scan on Tuesday too tiny and this week is really really dragging. Postive thinking required.

fedupofrainydays · 13/02/2014 12:10

Congrats milly great news! I'm worrying bout lack of symptoms here so good to know. Although I am comparing to my only successful pregnancy when I felt shit from before bfp.

jbrd I forget how many weeks are you? Can you get to EPU? It's so horrid isn't it. Both my mc started with brown too so I really know how you must be feeling. I can say brown blood is ok but in your case it obviously wasn't before (nor mine) so I would ring EPU and if you are over 5 wks they should be able to see something.

fedupofrainydays · 13/02/2014 12:11

Mine is on Tuesday too at 2pm. Petrified

JBrd · 13/02/2014 12:13

Great news Milly Hope you can relax a bit now.

ltd I can completely understand your anxiety! However, if you are certain that the cramping is due to IBS, is there something you can do to lessen it (painkillers or the like? Not sure what you can take for this when pg).
Also (and sorry for the personal question) are you sure that the pink matter came from the front when you wiped, and not the back? You might have ruptured a small blood vessel 'down there', which could explain it... Fingers crossed that it'll all calm down.

I'm still very scared - no more brown stuff when I went to the toilet last time, but I still have a back ache, and now also slight stomach cramps Sad
No point asking for a scan at this stage, I'm not even 7 weeks. And my EPU don't do anything unless you have been bleeding for at least a week. Like tiny said, nothing more to do than wait and see.

TinyTear · 13/02/2014 12:14

fedup and nearly mine is at 9h45

At least I don't have to wait during the day...

Hi jbird, definitely from the front unfortunately but nothing since the early hours. Epu don't seem concerned but then they never do in my experience.

It was just one streak of red/pink discharge. The cramps are definitely irritable bowel because they go away as soon as I go to the loo, and then slowly build up again until I go again xx

ldt87 · 13/02/2014 13:27

Is there a chance it could just be from straining? Sorry for the tmi question.

Millysdream · 13/02/2014 16:33

A few weeks ago I had brown discharge in my knickers and when I wiped. This happened the next day as well. I went to epu and they did a scan. They couldn't see any reason for the bleeding and said not to worry. Try not to panic too much. It is so hard to know what will be. These things are sent to try us! Xxx

Millysdream · 13/02/2014 16:40

fed up tiny nearly I am keeping my fingers crossed for you on Tuesday. Luckily the last who scanned me was excellent. She saw how upset and anxious I was so she said that she wouldn't keep me in suspense and she didn't. She told me straight away that she could see a heart beat with no messing around.

New dilemma- hubby doesn't want me to have the Down's syndrome test at next scan. Plus hospital said would only scan again at 16 weeks if I didn't have the test. I really want it. I need to be reassured again before 16 weeks plus I would like to know what is in store. Hubby says he wants the baby whatever. He is being very stubborn on this!!!!

ldt87 · 13/02/2014 16:54

My cramps have totally subsided, it's not unusual for my stomach to be like this the day after. I also have had a pad on all day and only lost normal discharge. I've had some suspicious discharge when wiping, but I'm only looking because I'm so worried, if that makes sense?

My husband is so optimistic and I feel like I've given up on this pregnancy already. Thanks for listening xx

allisgood1 · 13/02/2014 16:55

Jbrd I also had brown spotting in my 2 successful pregnancies. It pretty much went a few hours after it started. With my mc's it carried on and got heavier. The fact that its stopped is very very good.

milly so pleased you had a good scan! I am 10+2 and really starting to get scan fear again. I don't know when my next one is...
Re: testing. I would argue that you just want to know. If its not going to change your mind, surely its better to be prepared than not? Also, to be blunt, its your decision, not your DH's. Its your body. That would be my argument.

ldt87 · 13/02/2014 16:55

Millysdream, how far along are you? X

tannyLoo · 13/02/2014 17:20

It's all getting a bit Sad here. I came home from work this morning as I just couldn't stop crying. I hate this process and the lack of sympathy and understanding in the real world.

I don't have symptoms any more, even on a high dose of progesterone.

I really threw everything I could at this one.

Millysdream · 13/02/2014 17:23

10w5d says the scan. I can have another between 11-13 weeks if I have the testing. If not I have to wait till 20th march (16 weeks) then will have 20 week scan as normal.
I always wanted testing just to know. Plus if all is ok it is one less worry.

ldt87 · 13/02/2014 17:24

Aww tannyloo, so sorry your having a hard time. What's your history if you don't mind me asking. I hope your okay xx

Millysdream · 13/02/2014 17:26

tanny big hugs. It is so hard when everyone around you just doesn't get it. I don't think they can understand what it dies to us mentally. I was going to punch the next person who told me to stay positive. Remember no symptoms for me for about a week so ignore that x

ldt87 · 13/02/2014 17:26

Millysdream, I had issues at my 12 week scan which didn't show up at 10. Knowing that I would never turn down that scan, because I couldn't imagine not getting the news I did until 16 weeks

Not to scare you, but may be worth mentioning to your husband that it isn't only downs that scan is used for xx

squizita · 13/02/2014 21:38

Tanny :( It's awful, just awful when there's no one in RL who 'gets it'. Thinking of you.

Millys As it's been said... your body, your choice. I know it's hard but husbands/partners don't carry the baby and haven't been through our losses in quite the same way. Hope you get it resolved.

Ltd I have had 2 incidents this pregnancy where I pooed hard and got a 'pink wipe'. I'm on clexane so bleed easy. I had my scans after the poo/wipe incidents and they had done no harm. FX it's the same.

JBird FX that's the last you see of the brown blood! I can imagine the horror with all the memories flooding back, here's hoping (as in a majority of cases) it's a small bleed and means nothing.

I threw up my whole lunch today, and ate a massive burger for dinner. Replacing the calories. Wink It was a proper preggers burger as I ordered loads of extra pickles on it.

fedupofrainydays · 13/02/2014 22:52

tanny I hope that here we help with listening and can acknowledge and understand how really so crap and heartbreaking it is. I get so annoyed and let down by people in real life who give all the 'at least you got pregnant' or try and be all 'cheer up' about it. I bet you it's pretty hard to do the chin up and tits out right now. Flowers
I would have the scan milly you can ask not to know the downs result afterwards - as they do check everything else too. I agree tho, it's your body and if you need that scan for reassurance go with it. Or pay for a private one that isn't a downs checking one?

fedupofrainydays · 14/02/2014 07:48

How are you jbrd and ltd?

ldt87 · 14/02/2014 07:58

Hi fedup, my ibs has settled right down, no cramping at all, just a bit of a dodgy stomach left over. I'm starting to think it might be okay after all. No more cramps, nothing when I wipe. Hoping things will be okay

How is everyone today? Xx
