Banning mr Whippy! Feck off! I had some unpasteurised gruyere cheese last night. Such a rebel.

Good luck bugs!

MyNameIsWinkly · 28/02/2014 08:40

Oh and the NHS says soft ice cream is fine in pregnancy, near the end of this page. I've loosely followed the NHS advice, they don't seem scaremonger-y or prescriptive.

ALittleFaith · 28/02/2014 09:18

I heard the Mr Whippy thing is about the frequency of the pipes being cleaned. Grim even when not pregnant!

I'm here to hold a hand/pinky toe/ear today bugs. Rooting and fervently praying for a positive scan.

Brilliant! 3 days out is nothing - with early scans etc my EDD ended up 10 days ahead of my initial date - ie small blob became much bigger by 12 week scan.

Shall frantically start twirling after restraining myself so far!

Mine was 3 or maybe even 4 days behind on my scan at that stage so I think it's pretty normal. Hooray for a heartbeat! :)

FrankelInFoal · 28/02/2014 10:03

Hurrah, I'm definitely getting the tassels out now Grin

Don't worry about the dates, my sonographer said that the early scans have a leeway of 3-4 days either side,

Hurrah bugs! Although Hest will be sad that you don't have a spare quad for her. Wink

Centime has been a bit backward all the way along (it was almost a day behind at transfer (5 cell rather than 8)and has been within normal range but below average at each scan). At 12 weeks it was still measuring 3 days behind, but all seems well so I'm not menkulling about it. If it means I don't have to birth a whopper at the end of all this, it will end up being a good thing.

On food, I'm loosely following NHS guidelines too. I'm staying away from pate (don't eat it anyway), rare meat, lots of caffeine and booze (although I might relax the booze ban now I'm in the second tri). I'm still eating runny eggs (in the UK as we vaccinate, I wouldn't abroad) and unpasturised cheese, although I am heating it (I can't eat cow's milk products and almost all goats cheese here is unpasturised so I need to balance that against the need for calcium).

Woooo hoooo!!! I am so pleased for you. With the first minikit I was 6+1 when I knew I was 6+4 but at 9 weeks the dates matched. He is nearly 2 now so his slower start did not do him any harm. And I can understand you not being ready to shout it from the rooftops yet. Both times I felt very weird about it till the 12 week scan. I think it is self preservation. But a heartbeat at this stage is an excellent sign. I really think this will be the one for you. I have a good feeling. First trimester after miscarriage is really hard so be kind to yourself.

FrankelInFoal · 28/02/2014 11:05

Glad you've reassured yourself Bugs, lots of growing thoughts for the Buglet now.

Euro, I love goat's cheese but have avoided it all pregnancy. I've also avoided pate (despite MIL's comments about "not believing everything on the internet" Hmm) and caffeine - I've lost the taste for coffee and only drink 1 or 2 cups of tea per day. Booze wise I've been very good, I had a couple of glasses of wine over Christmas and New Year, each watered down with lemonade and that's been it.

In other news, and don't go getting excited, but I think I might have had a contraction earlier this morning. It's only been the one and I'm not entirely sure if it definitely was - I felt it across the underside of my bump and whilst it didn't "hurt" it made me stop what I was doing until it passed after about 20 seconds. So maybe, just maybe, we may have some progress Confused

How are my fellow March-PESH doing? Sinks and Merks are you looking like beating me to the finish line yet?!

SinkyMalinks · 28/02/2014 11:09

Currently waiting for 38 week midwife appt. Am willing bump to be engaged!

Had a half white load for washing yesterday, so first batch of baby grows and sheets washed and now drying Smile

Tightenings sound good! My bh are highish I think. Contractions are meant to be low..

I also have a waterproof sheet on my bed- did I mention that before? Has slightly eased my worries about waters going/flooding!

KatAndKit · 28/02/2014 11:14

I went right off coffee this pregnancy. Can't stand red wine either. Now I am further along I allow myself a couple of white wine spritzers a week. I do miss wine though! I like pate but I am not eating it. The listeria risk is the only one I take seriously and to be honest, you hear of listeria outbreaks from all manner of foodstuffs so it is impossible to avoid entirely. I love brie but I am getting my fix of it on puff pastry tarts. I suspect 180 degrees in the oven makes most food safe to eat!

FrankelInFoal · 28/02/2014 11:17

I think it was Faith that suggested puppy training pads under the bed sheets Grin

I'm 99% certain this wasn't a BH because it had more sensation to it, not pain as such but like a mild period cramp except it lasted a lot longer!

Fingers crossed for an engaged baybee Sinks

SinkyMalinks · 28/02/2014 11:18

Baked "bad" cheese is fine I think, even if you stick rigidly to guidelines. Have also avoided pate (save a single weak moment at Xmas) but am now having a glass of red most weekend. Rarely finish if though which is v unlike me!

Luckily this baby likes coffee. Would have been royally screwed still trying to work on 3 hrs sleep without it!

Midwife seems to have had the same woman wandering in and out of her room for 30 min now. And midwife keeps wandering over to the adjacent day care room.

Harrumph. I want to be seen! My midwife keeps to time (she's on hols this week).

Boooooored.
