Hi all!

I am sorry to just butt into the thread but here I am.

First timer here. First pregnancy and first post too.... please be nice to me

I had an appointment at the EPAU yesterday after a lot of spotting/bleeding... turns out I have a cervical ectropian and that's where the bleeding is coming from. Doc told me this was not uncommon and nothing to worry about and then "Dr Google" told me more info and now I am not freaking out. My scan showed my lovely little "monkey nut" moving around and I was soooooo relieved.

Anyway, am 9w 3d today and I think my due date is 18th Aug. This is 2 weeks different to what midwife thought so I had to change the dates for my other scans....12 weeks was due to be in a week.

Please can someone add me to the list...

Re August birthdays: I'm a teacher and I'm not worried about it! It only makes a difference very early on and children catch by the end of KS1. If children are given the right start it makes no difference at all. Only a problem when coupled with other issues. As someone who is born in January, a month when it's cold, dark, everyone's broke, trying to be healthy and generally miserable, I'd swap for a Summer birthday anytime!!

'Catch up' rather!

Having not seen my bean yet, am starting to worry that I will have the scan and there will be nothing there! Anyone else have that irrational fear?

You're not alone Travis, I've seen bean and still feel like something has happened between then and the scan, it's so hard to talk yourself away from the irrational thoughts and fears, I'm sure everything will be fine, it's so exciting for us all seeing our little ones! I don't even think its irrational even, it's just natural to be scared when all out little beans are already so loved and wanted!

First major emotional pregnancy melt down tonight. It started over wanting chips and rapidly spiralled into "I'm sad! I don't like feeling like this! I miss being me!"

I never cry. DH panicked. Recovering now, but still no chips. And still really really really want chips...

I definitely have the irrational fear of nothing being there on the scan. :-/

Lynnie, I had a cervical ectropian last time. The bleeding freaked me out, but all was / is well. I've been told to expect it again this time. Joy.

Wow 5 of us for the 11th at the minute! Welcome to all the new people too.

I think the fear of them saying there is nothing there is quite normal- especially as the doctors just take your word for the fact that you have had a positive test- I was sure they were going to tell me I was making it all up when I went for my early scan but there was the little bean on the screen. Don't panic and try and relax (it's so easy to give advice but harder to follow it myself!)

hungryhorse - I totally expected to find a lot of posts on cervical ectropian on MN but there was very little said about it. I'm glad that everything went fine with your pregnancy. It gives me hope! x

It's just a little sore patch, so not serious, I don't think.

Mine bled twice, once at 20 and once at 24 weeks. Just waiting for it t happen this time!
