Well... we're getting there at least, and definitely ready to meet the first thread baby!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Gemlou am happy to take the survey as well. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes around week 28 so have kept a fairly pedantic food diary, although equally can't guarantee I won't be induced. But happy to contribute.

Littleen · 13/01/2014 00:59

Welcome emma :)

Can't get dates down, so won't be doing that... Perineal massage... hmmmmm. not sure about it! Can't quite picture myself doing that, though it might be a good idea. Not 100% sure!

Baby feels giant tonight, and he's moving lots of really big movements, and tummy is much harder than usual. Uncomfortable much?

Artisticme · 13/01/2014 02:39

Ooo never thought that it could be heartburn related. That's interesting. Iv banned myself from taking Rennies and what not because they are counter productive in absorbing iron apparently and I need all the iron I can get!! Haha Although I'm gettin my bloods rechecked today to see if I need anther drip so maybe be able to take them after this week:)

Had a stupid cold since Christmas which I think has left me with a sinus infection and been having headaches and toothache now on and off for a week but my god the toothache tonight is unreal!! Definately a sleepless night for me tonight and for once, not caused by being pregnant!! :(

Shropshiremummy2B · 13/01/2014 05:25

emmafrueds I had gallstones 3yrs ago, the pain left me totally incapable of moving and thinking. It felt like someone had my intestines in a vice. It's also very common to have referral pains in one shoulder. Although they say the pain is not dissimilar to childbirth so at least you'll be well versed!

EeyoreIsh · 13/01/2014 06:45

emmafreud I've had really bad rib pain since the second trimester, enough to get me signed off from work eventually. The doc and midwives haven't figured out quite what caused it, they think probably the muscles between my ribs.

Pain at top of bump can also be indigestion/heartburn. I think it can also be a warning sign of pre eclampsia, so if it's a new thing you should tell the midwives

lastnightopenedmyeyes · 13/01/2014 08:12

Gemlou I'm happy to do your survey if you'd like to pm me details Smile

pettyprudence · 13/01/2014 09:27

I can't believe another thread baby seems to be on its way! Good luck misskat!

Finally been for my wc jab at 34+3 and it was the quickets, easiest and least painful of all my jabs this pg!

Hips, knees and back are killing me in bed now - grr. I still potentially have another 8 weeks to go (but hopefully only 5-6). I spent last night booking a weekend away with friends but had to reject a lot of the cheaper dates in march in case baby hadn't been born yet or was only a few days old - it hit home a bit more then!

DawnOfTheDee · 13/01/2014 10:01

I don't mind doing your survey if you pm me Gemlou.

Also Timpani if you want to have another go pm-ing me your email addy i can add you to the fb group.

My mum is coming over today for a couple of days to help me with DD...I am honestly that decrepit that i can't manage with her for too long by myself. I feel like i'm about 90 years old and a feeble 90 at that.

Very excited about another possible thread baby....am watching this thread and the fb one with great interest. I just wanna see more snuggly newborn photos.... Smile

EmmaFreudsGivingMeJip · 13/01/2014 10:50

Eeyore I've been having the pain since about 24 weeks and bp/urine is fine so midwife wasn't worried.
Glad to be off on mat leave now - still have sickness and was really struggling with that and the back/rib pain sat at a desk.

How do I join the fb group? I want to see babies Grin

jazzcat28 · 13/01/2014 11:18

emmafreud if you PM me your email address you use to log into Facebook I will send you an invite to our group.

Very excited about prospect of baby katamari making an appearance soon!

Have just re-packed baby's hospital bag and will be sorting out mine over the rest of this week. Am only 35+1 but all these early babies are getting me nervous! Have just included some toddler sleep training bed mats in my online food shop to put on my bed in case of waters breaking...

Final week at work for me this week - hurrah! Am only commuting to the office on Tues, Thurs & Fri though to avoid tiring driving. Glad I am at home today as the traffic sounds horrific.

Think baby is still in breech position, have been spending a lot of time on all fours to try and get it to shift but don't think it's working. Going to try going swimming too.

Hope all those with sickness/aches & pains feel a bit more human soon

Julietee · 13/01/2014 11:21

My mum had horrible intercostal rib pain when she was pregnant, apparently. She still gets twisty ribs occasionally!

Sorry to all of you with weird and unpleasant pains.

Petty thanks, I needed reminding to book that!

I went on a walk with my dad on Sunday, told him I was getting tired when he wanted to take a longer way back, then proceeded to demonstrate that by going at a snail's pace much of the way. Must learn I really can't ignore my body at this stage! (Though I still feel 34 weeks is too early to be this decrepit and am grumpy about it).

I've made a mental resolution to really try to enjoy these last weeks rather than wishing them away just because other people are further along and I've always been wanting time to go faster for this pregnancy.

Tired and hungry today. I had runny fried eggs for second breakfast and they were so gooood.

Julietee · 13/01/2014 11:24

Oh, and we've got our first NCT class tonight. Got an email about it yesterday and apparently there's no parking, the doorbell doesn't work and the heating is set too high. Why have it at that venue then? Oh, and we need to bring our own cushions/ bouncy balls if we want to be comfortable. Did anyone else have to bring comfort items to NCT classes?

Question for you all - is anyone mainly sleeping on their right hand side? I can't get comfy on my left anymore, but I got told by my doc that the right side should be avoided if possible. Wondering how worried to get about this. I'm so tired I'm happy to get any sleep I can.

EmmaFreudsGivingMeJip · 13/01/2014 11:28

thanks jazzcat I have pm'd you.

jazzcat28 · 13/01/2014 11:38

emmafreud you should have an invite waiting for you in your email.

julie that sounds awful - particularly given how much NCT classes are! I would be of a mind to write a complaint to be honest (maybe once you've been and sussed it out). We had our first session last week and chairs, tea/coffee/squash/biscuits were all provided.

I am struggling to stay sleeping on my left to be honest. The weight of me+bump is causing hip pain and pins and needles. Then I roll onto my back and wake up thinking 'this is bad'.

EmmaFreudsGivingMeJip · 13/01/2014 11:48

yay i'm on there. Nice to see everyones bumps Grin

KalevalaForMePlease · 13/01/2014 11:57

Well some sort of next stage pregnancy switch has turned on this weekend for me. Had huge emotional preggo rage/sob fest at DH on Saturday, and on Sunday started feeling really exhausted and puffed while out for lunch. Feet and ankles have swelled up. Lying on sofa feeling like huge pregnant whale. Six more weeks of this!

PoopPoooDeDooo · 13/01/2014 12:44

Hi all,

Sorry for being AWOL for so long, I've been having internet issues!

Whats this about misskat? Have I missed something, I never did get round to getting FB invite sent so if its on there thats how I missed it!! Who do I send details to again?

Not much happening here... BP is up so having twice weekly MW appointments for monitoring but thats it! 39+2 now and shattered all the time!

I am off to try and catch up!

Smile
jazzcat28 · 13/01/2014 12:51

poop if you send me a PM with the email address you use to log into Facebook I will invite you to the group. misskatamari's waters broke early hours this morning and at about 9am we had an update to say she was having a bath and a bagel with mild period contractions. No further news yet!

EeyoreIsh · 13/01/2014 13:02

emma sounds similar to my rib pain. It's been much better since I've been off work as I can move around rather than spending hours sitting down.

It's so exciting about missk. Although I'm a little nervous that she's only a day ahead of me, and she didn't seem to have any warnings that her waters would break. It makes me realise we're not really in control, are we Shock Grin

tinypolkadot · 13/01/2014 13:27

Very excited about misskat hope she's doing ok.

Yesterday was a bit of an odd one. My blood pressure has been high for the past couple of months so yesterday I had swollen ankles and flashing lights in my vision and went in for monitoring. During which time my bp went nice and low and everything was fine, which was good but felt like I was being a right pain in the arse.

The baby spent the last 10 mins of the monitoring trying to kick the monitor off my belly. It was very targetted kicking at this particular point, very amusing!

Gemlou I don't mind doing the survey either.

Also suffering with rib pain and am sleeping on my right as well. I have to alternate sides otherwise all my limbs would drop off from lack of circulation!

Middy75 · 13/01/2014 13:35

Hi everyone and sorry I've been so rubbish at posting on here, although I have been trying to keep up to date over the months. Now on maternity leave and joined FB group. Currently 34+3 and another gestational diabetic, currently on metformin and insulin. Have found it a really rubbish pregnancy so far but my bags are packed and looking forward to meeting our daughter Smile oh and she is also breech at the minute! Have got a acupuncture session booked for Thursday for some moxibusion, hoping that will get her spun around,

Oooh exciting stuff... how many weeks is she again? I've sent you a PM Jazz- Thanks Smile

marzipanned · 13/01/2014 14:15

Julietee We had to bring cushions/balls, it wasn't for comfort though (the chairs were basic but fine), it was for practicing different labour position. Yours is probably the same. Very annoying about the other issues though.

Champs Great news about your BP, hope this means you will be at the birth centre after all.

Eeyore I know! We had our first NCT group birth today and that was also a couple of weeks pre due date. All feels a bit - yikes.

I go to sleep on my left side but don't worry if I wake up on my right or back (I have the dream genii pillow though so never fully on my back, more at an angle) This comes up very regularly at my yoga class and the teacher always says that (a) if it wasn't okay, your body wouldn't do it and (b) any studies done on this have been inconclusive. Very surprised that your doctor told you right hand sleeping was bad - any reason?!
