Ah, that is good news sunflowered. Buzz for some toast - I got some in EPU at 4am when I was finally up to eating again!

Good news sunflowered.

Those hospital bag lists just reminded me of my dream last night. I dreamt that I was thinking I must remember to tell the first time mums that they don't need to take the car seat into the hospital when they go in. Just to leave it in the car and get their husband to bring it in when he comes to pick them up!

So if you have been trying to squeeze your car seat into your overnight bag you can now breath a sigh of relief with that really useful advice!! I'm even boring myself in my dreams now.

SugarMiceInTheRain · 06/01/2014 20:58

Thinking of you Sunflowered. They should be able to at least get you a sandwich and a drink (they did for me when I missed dinner due to being in recovery after c-section) They sometimes have basic toiletries. nightshirts, mesh pants etc available too for those who unexpectedly have to stay overnight. Grin

misskatamari · 06/01/2014 21:17

Glad you're doing okay sunflowered. I hope you manage to get some more food!

Oh my god the third lady from my nct class has just had her baby!!!

winterflowers · 06/01/2014 21:20

Woop sunflowered that sounds positive so far fx it continues and DEFINITELY call someone to give you some food!

I'm due the first in my nct class by a week, and a month ahead.of some. Will not be impressed if someone overtakes me!

Thanks for the advice poppy saves me lots.of bag space ;)

LovesToBake · 06/01/2014 21:26

Just catching up on a busy afternoon of posts - Sunflowered sending Thanks your way and very glad to hear the bp has come down a bit and you might not need to be induced so soon. Echoing what others have said, your instincts were clearly spot on going to get checked today and hopefully having caught it nice and early and being in the best possible place for monitoring, everything will pan out for the best for you and the little one. Can imagine what a shock it must have been though. Feeling glad I packed my hospital bag today. Poor you being stuck without food or toothpaste or PJs. Are you on a ward with other preggos?

LittlePandaBear · 06/01/2014 22:02

A busy day of posts!

Sunflowered - will be thinking of you and hope all is well in hospital. As long as they do whatever is best for you and baby then that's the main thing. To be honest I don't think any of us will be completely prepared even at 40 weeks - there is so much to think/worry about and so much unknown, even if we've done this before!

Keep us posted xx

Artisticme · 06/01/2014 22:17

Hope you feel much better soon sun. Glad everything is looking a bit more positive. Hope you've been able to get some good too:) xx

Unplastered · 06/01/2014 22:21

That's good news sunflowered, fx for continued improvement. Definitely ask for something to eat, they should take pity on you!

I have pretty much packed my bags today - I found a small wheelie case that I've put all baby's things in, my stuff is still just a huge pile as I've got no bag to put it in... Carrier bags might have to do!

34+6

Artisticme · 06/01/2014 22:21

And forgot to say thankyou to everyone for the messages:) still waiting to hear back about my plan of care but at the moment sounds like I won't be getting my IV until next week because there's no appointments:( bit disappointing as I was looking forward to my sudden energy boost!! Haha

CubanoHabana · 06/01/2014 22:24

Good news about bp sunflowered, hope it keeps coming down!

Ch11 whereabouts are you again? Wish I finished teaching today bit alas no :-(

No sleep for me and mucho pain today after first day back at school... Fingers crossed tomorrow is better, although full teaching day tues and wed and then parents evening!

Littleen · 06/01/2014 22:52

Thanks for the lists, girls! Sounds about the same as mine, though I will be staying in 2-3 days. But we only live 30 mins from the hospital so np sending my OH home to pick up stuff :)

sunflowered glad to hear bloodpressure have gone down a bit, I will attempt to summon a slice of cake for you with the power of my mind! x

Spurred in to action, I've now written my bag list, got out all the baby stuff and clothes (still no sign of my hypnobirthing book and cd :( )
and have just started my fairly vague birthplan! Will I seem weird to not want to see placenta or anything else remotely gross? Hmm I'm just not keen on strange things coming out of my body..

glitterhoops · 06/01/2014 23:01

Hi I thought I'd join this thread, I'm 33 weeks today and very much looking forward to mid Feb when I have an ECS planned : )

Re NCT - if you on a low wage and or in receipt of WTC the course is massively reduced - Im not sure of the current criteria, it was 3 years ago now I did mine so may had chained a bit, but worth looking into. The actual course was rubbish (I am sure there are good ones, but my local teacher was not so good) but it was invaluable for the local friends I made and of course we all shared such an important part of our lives together - our first baby!

There are a few things I wish I had taken to hospital with me for the first birth, they are:
-an eye mask - its too bright in there to sleep properly
-ear plugs - ok this is debatable as you need to be able to hear your own baby cry - however babies cries go through anything. The ear plugs just take the edge off the other 20 odd babies screams.
-a spagetti strapped vest that you wear under your PJ/T-shirt top which you pull down then your t-shirt covers the top of your chest - if you have a CS of birth complications they'll force you to have your curtain open - its not so much trying to establish breastfeeding with a load of strangers being able to peer at you. Alternatively you could just have a really big t-shirt and put the baby down your top so they are completely skin to skin.

DawnOfTheDee · 07/01/2014 03:28

Am I the only one with pg insomnia tonight? Woke up at 2 and still awake Sad I still have a bit of a cold/sore throat. And my back hurts. Nothing major just getting fed up. I can't remember what it's like to just be well, to move around freely. Feel like i'm moaning all the time. Blurgh.

Rant/moan over.

marzipanned · 07/01/2014 03:39

Hi glitter.

I'm up dawn...no reason at all, just can't sleep. Possibly worrying about MW appt later today as pretty sure that after all the positive talk of babies turning yday, mine turned herself breech when I got into bed last night..

EeyoreIsh · 07/01/2014 03:42

I'm awake too Sad it's the same every night/morning, I'm so tired but can't sleep. It makes me want to cry with frustration.

DawnOfTheDee · 07/01/2014 03:58

They say misery loves company!

Fx your baby is head down tomorrow marzi. I'm not sure what mine's up to.....has been head down so far but bump has now definitely dropped and i'm getting kicks/pokes at both sides of my tummy so i'm worried she's gone transverse. I see the mw on wednesday though so not too long to wait.

Totally hear the tired but not sleepy vibe eeyore.....then when i have to be up I'm so knackered i'm almost falling asleep every time i blink. And if one more person tells me it's 'practice' for when the baby is born I shall rip my arm off and beat them with the soggy end.

Final bit of moan - GTT in the morning so i a) have to be up probably at the time by body's given in and it actually letting me sleep and b) am not allowed to eat anything right now. Grrrr.....

DawnOfTheDee · 07/01/2014 04:00

Oh and hi glitter....welcome to the thread. I'm usually a lot jollier I promise Smile

marzipanned · 07/01/2014 04:28

Thanks dawn. Bloody GTT. I'm hungry but too cosy in bed to go downstairs so munching my way through a tube of polos I found in bedside drawer. Small comforts...

ch1134 · 07/01/2014 04:46

You're not the only one dawn! I spoke too soon yesterday saying I was sleeping fine! Been awake since 1am so given up and had breakfast now - might put on a film...
Just got so much whizzing about my head. I guess I have the headspace now has finished and Christmas is over. Worrying about the house not being ready. I really hope baby can wait a few more weeks, then the bedrooms should be ready... carpet fitters and electricians coming this week but only for estimates. i hope they're able to do the work soon! And then I'll need a plumber as no heating in baby room...
Making me think of sunflowered and how hard it must be to feel not ready, and worrying if baby is ready. Hope all goes well for you.
CubanoHavana - how much more teaching for you? I'm in Gloucestershire.

Another one with rubbish sleep but down to a stinking cold than insomnia this time Hmm

Got hosp appt and growth scan today so will hopefully see if placenta has moved up at all.

Hope everyone has a good day and hope you're feeling ok Sunflowered and your bp continues to go down. X

Artisticme · 07/01/2014 09:32

Had a full 8 hours sleep last night with only 1 toilet trip!!! Yayy:) so strange how sometimes our bodies just won't let us rest and other times we can sleep so well.

Welcome glitter :) and thankyou for the strappy top tip:)

OH is currently upstairs painting the nursery and today is a trip out to by a carpet:) all coming together I think. At last!!
