Thinking of you sunflowered.

misskatamari · 06/01/2014 17:26

Oh gosh, x-post sunflowered.

Try not to worry, I know it must be really hard, especially as things are happening much faster than you had been expecting. As Eeyore says though the most important thing is keeping you and baby healthy. Big hugs xxx

winterflowers · 06/01/2014 17:33

Hugs sunflowered it sounds rubbish but so good you did go and get it all checked out and that LO is doing ok. Bp drugs can be super effective so fx they start to kick in and yiu can be monitored from home.

I have the hard bump when I walk as well, although haven't been doing much of that lately...

Have only had one nct class so far and it was fun but didn't feel I'd learnt much, hopefully will pick up and they'll tell me what the hell to do with a baby once I get to take her home...

jazzcat28 · 06/01/2014 17:38

sunflowered just try to keep in mind the positives - you've detected the pre-eclampsia early, you are in the best place possible for you and baby, and you get to meet your baby in a matter of days! I know you're scared but they are pretty amazing positives (very jealous of you meeting bubba soon). Thoughts with you and your DH Flowers

Sassy20 · 06/01/2014 17:42

Sunflowered sorry to hear about you having to stay in hospital now but you're in the best place. Glad to hear baby's ok and that they're holding off as long as possible before delivering. Take care and keep us updated. Thanks X

marzipanned · 06/01/2014 17:58

Sunflowered can only imagine all the things running through your hard and how fast it is all going. I'd echo the positives jazz has said, and remember all the ladies on this thread (like Dawn) who've ended up having monitoring/CS and have had really positive experiences. Also a bit jealous of you meeting little one soon :)

gnittinggnome · 06/01/2014 18:00

sunflowered you're in the best possible place for your health and for your LO, so whilst it all seems a bit scary, you'll be fine! Glad they caught it and are taking care of it now. You might be the first one to have your baby home!

Lots and lots of hugs and Thanks

laura0007 · 06/01/2014 18:22

Sending lots of hugs sun! If it makes it any easier my bosses friend was due 6 days before me and had her baby last week via emergency cs due to pre eclampsia. She literally went to the doctors and he sent her straight up to the hospital for a section it was that bad so at least they've caught yours earlyish and you've time to prepare yourself. Her baby is absolutely fine weighed 5lb2, just a bit jaundice. It's amazing how big they are inside us now!

Julietee · 06/01/2014 18:24

Sun This must all feel so overwhelming. Thinking of you and sending you calm and supported vibes. Remember they're pretty much good from 34 weeks! xxxx

EeyoreIsh · 06/01/2014 18:26

sunflowered you're in the right place, it's good they're really keeping an eye on you and baby. I hope you respond to the drugs, and your DH puts the right things in your bag.

hugs Thanks Thanks Thanks x

Littleen · 06/01/2014 18:37

Lots happening since I checked last night!

Chocofrog You have my sympathy! We are not organised or ready either, in any way at all! No bag packed or even list made, still got furniture to build in nursery and cotbed to paint, and so on. Can't find my hypnobirthing book after we moved either, but on the plus side, we got a mattress today :P It's a start I guess!

Champagne It can be pretty awkward :P Mine just tends to kick at both sides at the same time, or swap sides within 5 minutes of me turning. Luckily only for half hour or so in the night, and for a while when I first go to bed in the evening :)

sunflowered sorry to hear about the pre-eclampsia and everything, try to relax if you can and just look after yourself and baby. Hopefully they won't need to get labour started this soon, so you have time to prepare a bit more! If it helps, my midwife says that doctors are not worried about babies born after 32 weeks but before 37, even though they are not quite finished. Keep us posted xx

Makes me think of sorting out my bag asap, I'm 33+1 as I'm just a day behind!

Littleen · 06/01/2014 18:42

Just on a lighter note for the cat-fans amongst us; This one got a nice little game:

Sorry to hear about the pre eclampsia sun. You must be feeling so overwhelmed and under prepared. I'm really glad it was spotted before it got any worse and you really are in the best place even though it wasn't what you had hoped. You get to meet your baby soon! Smile Good luck with everything and keep us posted when you can. x
This gave me a push to pack my bag today at 36 weeks although I think I'll be going over the EDD.
Fingers crossed for a full nights sleep for all of us tonight.

ChocoFrog · 06/01/2014 19:24

Sunflowered hope you're okay and everyone is right when they say think of all the positives. It's a shock but you'll have a beautiful baby soon so yay! Thinking of you though and off to pack my bag right now...

Your list missk has reminded me that waitrose currently have nakd bars on offer, and some of them contain dates Smile

Unplastered · 06/01/2014 20:06

Echoing what everyone else has already said sunflowered. Thinking of you!

sunflowered · 06/01/2014 20:08

Thanks for all your messages and Thanks . Bp gone down a bit and blood results are ok so might not have to resort to an early induction. Told the dr that if it comes to it my main priority is healthy and safe however necessary (though 'with minimal damage and poking if possible' did get whispered as she left the room).

In the meantime keep packing those bags (and don't go anywhere near a midwife without them - even for a 'quick bp test for reassurance'...)

In other news, missed supper while changing wards so all I got was a sandwich. I'm starving and already sent dh home when I realised so nobody to send out for Biscuit or Cake. Or toothpaste, makeup and pj's. I'm going to look gorgeous when all those nice young drs come round in the morning.

Glad it's all a bit more positive now Sunflowered. How annoying that you missed dinner though! X
