RoseHoney · 03/01/2014 11:31

Thankyou for thinking of me. Smile Means A lot.

RosesOnTheWane · 03/01/2014 11:39

Woohoo! Congrats Rose.

flymo79 · 03/01/2014 11:52

brilliant! congrats Rosehoney.

Just been reading a great thread on the main pregnancy chat board about pf exercises and am now doing them at my desk (TMI!), might have to set up a reminder in my calendar to do them every day!!

2beornot · 03/01/2014 11:54

So pleased Rose!

I so can't wait for my scan, but I'm 9+4 already so may as well just wait until 12 weeks?

wejammin · 03/01/2014 12:09

so nice to hear good news from all the scans Smile. can't afford an early one so 3 weeks to go for me. my bump is enormous and hiding it at work is such a chore.

am also having the headaches and I think I'm getting sinusitis which is really not helping with my insomnia. I think I got more sleep when ds was a newborn!

HungryHorace · 03/01/2014 12:09

Excellent news, Rose :-)

And I'm the same, 2be. My scan is 3 weeks on Monday, so I'm just waiting too.

Are there any newbies wanting to join the Facebook group by the way?

AprilS · 03/01/2014 12:23

Congratulations Rosehoney!

I'm feeling awful today. Didn't get to sleep till 3am and set my alarm for 9am to try and get some work done. Feel like a zombie though so I don't think thats going to happen. Sofa day instead then hopefully well enough to do stuff over the weekend. I'm sure once i'm done with these antibiotics I will start to feel better.

Finnable · 03/01/2014 12:50

Yay Rose and Mama! I'm very happy for you.

Horace - can I join the FB group? I shall PM you my name!

Hollyjokes · 03/01/2014 13:17

Hey ladies! Not been on MN for a little while as been really busy over Xmas and still struggling with sickness/exhaustion so have been sleeping every chance I get! We were about halfway through the last thread when I last checked in so looks like I've got a lot of catching up to do!
Hope everyone is well x

stephie0611 · 03/01/2014 13:41

Ive been having really bad stomach pains the last few days so I phoned up hospital this morning who sent me for a scan. I was hysterical thinking the worst but everything is fine. Babys heart is beating and sitting in the right place with plenty of room. Im 7 weeks gone.
I need to drink more fluids as they think thats what the pain is as im struggling to eat and drink as just feel that sick all the time. Have been told by hospital to try the travel sickness bands as a lot of women swear by them, so fingers crossed.

flymo79 · 03/01/2014 13:53

sorry to hear about your pans stephie, but glad to hear all is ok. try adding something to the water, I found hot lemon and honey worked for me better than cold water, then switched to a nice sharp cranberry tea. xxx

Racal7 · 03/01/2014 14:00

Hi everyone, Can I join you? I am about 9 weeks pregnant for the first time and worried about pretty much everything. Can't eat much at all due to sickness and dreading going back to work. Hope everyone is well. Glad to find a thread with people experiencing similar thingsxx

flymo79 · 03/01/2014 14:16

durrrrr, obvs meant to write 'pains' not pans stephie!!

flymo79 · 03/01/2014 14:17

welcome racal, don't worry about work (everything seems so insignificant after your bfp!) it may feel like a struggle but you should be over the worst soon. try to have little amounts of what you can eat (salty things work for me) and not to worry too much xxxxx

Racal7 · 03/01/2014 14:30

Thanks flymo :) Really can't wait to stop feeling so rubbish. Mostly eating biscuits, crisps and cereal. That's all I can manage. Little and often is useful though. Got a scan booked for 24th Jan now so looking forward to that.

See you are starting PF exercises. Good luck! I need to start soon.

BunnyBaby · 03/01/2014 14:42

Rose, Mama and Steph - great news on the scans

zebeen - hope you're ok? I think you're at EPU today also.

Glad to hear lots of others are shattered, but struggling to stay asleep / go to sleep.

Got my booking in appointment today for the 15th Jan, I'll be almost 9 weeks then, very excited.

Also will be making choice about VBAC as DS1 was vaginal, DS2 EMCA, so I know I can do it, but will depend on estimated size of baby (DS2 was 10lb1oz) and whether I have placenta at front again, and position of baby (DS1 & DS2 both posterior, DS1 turned in labour, DS2 has f**kwit midwife who told me DS2 wasn't posterior and asked me to push, when she has written in my notes he was posterior.. really put us both in danger as he then got stuck - still angry with her now as resulted in EMCS).

Also was induced with Ds1 & Ds2 at 18 days OD and 11 days OD, so I know that they won't induce post-section, so we'll see what happens.

Weather still atrocious, had DS1 friends here yesterday, and DS2s today, so they've had some buddy time, but we are normally out and about a lot more and both DSs have cabin fever (and me) DH is working, so we're home alone.

This is such a busy thread, I love hearing what everyone is up to!

Flymo and Vinny - I think I remember you from the conception boards too!

Bunny x

Shakshuka · 03/01/2014 14:49

Lovely to hear all the good news from the scans :)

I got my snow day at home today - so pleased! I don't intend to leave the house at all because -9 is the top temp which apparently feels like -14 plus about 10 inches of snow! I've always felt the cold but since I got pregnant I've been freezing. Both other times I was pregnant, I went through the first trimester in spring, this is the first time I'm doing it in winter. DH is also home so he can take the kids out sledding!

My work isn't physically hard but it's the commute which I find exhausting and nauseating.

Is anyone else planning on doing the harmony test or similar? I'm booked to do it in a few weeks.

HungryHorace · 03/01/2014 15:37

Hi Racal!

Crisps worked for me last time too. I'm trying not to eat too much this time and powering through feeling crap. It's a bit easier at home where I can throw up as much as I like without the need to hide it!

This afternoon I've actually been productive while DD has been sleeping. I've made butternut squash soup, apple crumble and I've just put the rice on for our egg fried rice later on. Yummy. Feeling a bit queasy now though, with the smells. And hungry, ironically.

Shak, is the harmony test offered as standard in the States? It's only done privately here and is seriously expensive. And normally only as an option instead of a more invasive Down's test, I think.

We aren't even having the Down's testing as we wouldn't act on a result which indicated high risk. My age would skew the result anyway, so we decided last time it wasn't something we'd do.

Shakshuka · 03/01/2014 15:43

hungry

It depends on your insurance (as does practically everything here!!).

We're really lucky that we have very good coverage so it's covered if you're considered high risk which I am because of my age.

I'm not sure what I'd do if I got a positive result but I'd still like to know and I feel much more comfortable doing this test than a CVS or an amnio because it's not invasive.

Does the NHS not offer it at all???

Racal7 · 03/01/2014 15:59

Hi Hungry,

You are an inspiration powering through feeling crap and getting so much done. I have done hardly anything today apart from throw up. Like you say, it's not so bad at home, but I'll be back at work next week..

flymo79 · 03/01/2014 16:09

Shak - as far as I know it will be about 10 years before the NHS offers harmony test, because they offer the nuchal fold at dating scan and then offer CVS or amniocentesis if your NFT shows something up

stephie0611 · 03/01/2014 16:14

Thanks very much all. Flymo yeh ill definitely try that. Got they bands just now so hopefully they work. They even say on them for morning sickness as well.
