My verrrrrry faint line earlier gives me an edd of 27 august so I'm going to straddle the two threads providing I get a strong bfp tomorrow (which I should do!!)

Happy Christmas everyone!!!

Sorry to hear that twinkbat Take it easy and rest as much as you can. Sending you positive vibes xxx Thanks

BexBoo12 · 04/01/2014 12:53

Twinkbat consider yourself hugged Smile I'm sending positive thoughts your way, remember spotting can be normal, so try and stay positive xxxxx Thanks

BexBoo12 · 04/01/2014 12:57

Justpenny, I would also hire a private midwife if money allowed!!!!!! I feel like I need constant reassurance that everything is ok. We have decided to tell my DH's brother and his wife this evening. We are very close and they told us very early on with both of their pregnancies - before either set of parents so feel it would be nice to tell them. However, I'm worried about their reaction, they did not react well to our wedding (partly because we didn't spend £25,000 on the most wonderful perfect party for everyone like they did) and their reaction was very flat and I was hoping up share my excitement with them seeing as we hadn't told many people.

I'm worried their erection will be just as flat, which will hurt me so much. I want tears and everything lol Grin

BexBoo12 · 04/01/2014 12:58

Oh Christ on a bike!!! The end of that post should read "I'm worried their REACTION will be flat..." NOT ERECTION!!!!! silly auto correct SmileShockBlush

PunkyPod · 04/01/2014 13:09

Try and rest as much as you can Twink. Hope you see your healthy bean on Monday xx

I am also very anxious about labour. With DD1 I did NCT yoga classes which were fab. Then a lazy daisy birthing workshop thing which went through all the techniques. I used them to great effect during labour (along with TENS machine, birthing pool and gas&air) but DD had her head at an awkward angle and I ended up being transferred to hospital and having a ventouse delivery. To be honest it was horrendous. I need to have some serious conversations with the midwife about how this child will be delivered coz I just can't go through that again. But I would say the techniques and movement I learnt really helped with labour and although it hurt it wasn't unmanageable.

waffles1990 · 04/01/2014 13:23

Justpenny and Bexboo12 I am a Midwife! I will not charge for any info lol

I told my boyfriend about the BFP last night (unplanned!) and his reaction was far better than I expected! I don't think he's stopped grinning, he's over the moon. I feel like I can actually get excited now!!

So hard not to tell the whole world. I need to tell my mum next! I've only been with my boyfriend for 8 months but my whole family love him so I'm hoping they dont freak too much..!

waffles1990 · 04/01/2014 13:24

Anyone with any questions I can be September 2014's resident Midwife!

topmammy · 04/01/2014 13:36

Hahahaha bex your typo was amazing hehe made me have a good chuckle, thank you Smile

Punky/waffles is a ventousse (sp?) delivery that suction thing? I do feel lucky to have a midwife on tap (my mum) but I'm just hoping she's not actually at work when I'm in labour lol. Good luck telling your mum waffles!

waffles1990 · 04/01/2014 13:38

aw thankyou topmammy :) I think she'll take it well, just a bit shocked

yeah the ventouse is the suction cap, stops baby escaping back up the birth canal after a contraction!

topmammy · 04/01/2014 13:39

Is 'christ on a bike' from that book called angus, thongs and full frontal snogging?! Just had a flashback to my teens lol

topmammy · 04/01/2014 13:44

Hmm ventouse doesn't sound too bad. It's episiotomies (can't spell it but you know what I mean) that freak. me. out. My mum is apparently the best on her ward for sewing women back up but I don't know if I fancy my mum doing that to me. Actually I don't want to be cut full stop. Anyway I'm going to stop thinking about that now lol.

dubaipieeye · 04/01/2014 13:49

topmammy if you think a ventouse doesn't sound too bad, I absolutely will not share the story of DS1's birth with you Wink!!!!!! I don't want to disavow you of that belief. My episiotomy was so far into the madness, I barely remember it tbh.

whiteblossom · 04/01/2014 14:47

Twinkbat sorry to hear your spotting that must be so scary for you, positive vibes and a big hug coming your way Flowers

waffles glad you bf is very happy and I might just have to take you up on you advise offer from a pro midwife!! Grin

My dh has told me Im not allowed to diet now im preggers Confused I am a little carefull with what I eat as I lost a few stone a couple of years ago but I eat loads and I balance it with exercise but Im just not into food at the mo, I eat of Im hungry but that's it, I just cant be bothered!

I do have a very rounded lower belly and im only 5 weeks so im worried im going to be huggggeee, and I cant suck it in either Confused

PunkyPod · 04/01/2014 15:15

Yeh the ventouse was the last of my worries. Let's just say I had to go to theatre afterwards because of the damage. I'm just very scared about it happening again and/or the scars coming open again.

Waffles - think I'll def be speaking to you about this. Smile
Good luck telling your mum!

Justpenny · 04/01/2014 15:19

Erection!!!!! hahaha! That's just made me spit out my decaf cuppa :) hahaha! I'm so mature! ha!
I've just been bowling with my DS and his little cousin, so now am absolutely knackered and my head is throbbing. Hopefully im gonna be given the luxury of a little break and a laze on the sofa now, although I've just mentioned to my bf that I feel ill and his words were "shake it off girl"...I could punch him in the throat!!! Ive got zero patience at the moment, not only am I pregnant and tired, I've also got a 5000 word assignment due in on Monday that im yet to start, as well as 4 lessons to plan for Wednesday, my Christmas decorations are still up and I've got a pile of laundry that's taller than my 8yr old son! I FEEL LIKE CRYING!!!! I wish they gave us maids as well as midwives, I could do with some home help right about now! xx
Oh and Waffles...you're gonna regret admitting you're a midwife, I've got a MILLION questions already!! xx

Hubbythecatandme · 04/01/2014 15:20

Sorry to hear twinkbat, they do say "tell your doc if you have heavy bleeding" sort of thing, did you have heavy bleeding or just a little bit?
Think some women can have bleeding throughout their pregnancy...
DearDinah so sorry to hear you've had an argument, hopefully he'll understand you are just filled with heavy hormone cocktail!
I feel so bad, this morning I did one hour of work before flipping dizziness / am going to be sick came back.... so hubby had to take over and we didn't manage to take orders to post office as it got too late. I was away for a few days (and not sure how many customers saw this on my ebay shop even though it did clearly say) and now I am crapping myself that if too many customers leave negative feedback it's going to affect my business.... argh stupid symptoms just when you don't need them! I am -of course- fine again now, typical!!!!

Hubbythecatandme · 04/01/2014 15:25

bex and topmammy I am totally paranoid as well, I barely dare lift any box in my stockroom because I have this vision that the baby is just going to detach himself and that I am going to have a M/C!
I was going to go back to the gym but not matter what people say I am just too scared to run, do yoga or do anything vaguely too physical for the time being... I know it's just me being daft but can't help it!
Every time I feel the slightest discharge, I check for any bleeding... absolutely ridiculous... and because my symptoms are a lot "come and go" I am constantly checking if my boobs hurt still or are my nipple erect... No matter what people tell me I keep thinking this little baby is a fragile lil thing that can detach itself and disappear in two seconds :s

twinkbat · 04/01/2014 15:30

Thanks everyone. Seems it was (fingers crossed) just a small bit this morning as (TMI sorry) it went brown then now nothing. Still, I was headed to the dr monday anyway to sort out my booking appt so I'll just go get my EPAU referral. Seems your good vibes have done the trick

Anyone else crying at everything? We're watching Dr who re-runs and I'm blubbing all over the place. I didnt cry so much the first time!!

Hubbythecatandme · 04/01/2014 15:30

bexboo yup, told father in law, my parents and hubby's best friend + his wife and reactions too flat for my liking lol, bit disapppointed in a way, I think because DH and I were SOOOO over the moon, even when people are pleased for us I seem to think "is that all?!"
We too had a no-money nonsense wedding (both DH and I like to be "sensible" with money, I still haven't recovered from having STUPIDLY paid £650 for a wedding dress.... and I know people pay like thousands!!!). We had two weddings, one religious in France and one registry office in the UK with 15 guests max. The best wedding was by far the smaller one and we spent probably about £500 for the whole thing, yet it was an amazing day!!!

Hubbythecatandme · 04/01/2014 15:34

Re: labour, I am going to ask for an epidural!!!!
All my friends who had it said it was the best thing ever, hubby's best friend's wife said she didn't have an epidural and thinks she had a much rougher experience when the women she knows who had.
I think my pain threshold is okay but I am a worrier so if medicine can allievate my pains and stop me from completely freaking out then yes to epidural for me! I want to have more children and not be so traumatised by birth I never have another one!
Each to their own though...

Newlywed2013 · 04/01/2014 16:36

Jealous Bug of your early scan! where we are in the process of moving i dont think we would be able to justify the cost :( especially as we said we def want a 4d scan later on in pregnancy!

handholding twinkbat

Bex erection has me laughing so much! definitely a newly wed lol :D

Waffles I have made you official midwife on the page lol :)

In terms of labour... im not even going to think about it until after the 12 week scan!!! or later on lol! i just know which hospital i am most likely to give birth at.

had my friends 5 yr old little boy today!! he was dropped off at 8am, after i got in from work at 1am last night and im back in work at 6 until 1am :( exhausted!!!!!

Universalis · 04/01/2014 16:47

I'm crying at everything, one of my children chose Michael Rosen's sad book for her bed time story last night, that sent me over the edge I can tell you by the time I'd finished Id got two of my children in tears with me!! Might have to hide that one, mind you I wasn't much better when reading Topsy and Tim at the supermarket when Topsy gets lost and goes to the kind lady behind the cheese counter, tears were flowing again but this time the children quite rightly remained dry eyed.

nataaaaliee · 04/01/2014 16:47

oh my goodness bex just laughed way to much at that! haha

hubby so am i..If im allowed im haemophillic so im being hopeful, made the mistake of watching one born every minuite but they deffo seemed to enjot it and get exited more after they got it!
