It's a perfect Christmas present for me! Xmas Grin

Oh, yes yummie, What to Expect is a good book actually. It's very matter of fact.

I doubt I'll look at my copy this time though, but it was useful for a first timer. :-)

lucyfluff · 19/12/2013 07:39

Thanks for prawn tip Wink I thought they were banned too and had promised prawn cocktail for starters too!!! May have a small portion.

ukmummie - Jumping in a pool sounds lovely! wish I could join you with these hot flushes lol. I can imagine you cant wait to come home, at least until you do enjoy the rest and sunshine. Im good thankyou...had a few symptoms now but quite mild thankfully Smile

Missvaughan85 · 19/12/2013 08:46

Feeling remarkably normal this morning. I've been feeling rather ratty at home lately but it's the quitting smoking. Yes I was and still am a smoker. I have quit before you go crazy at me. But they say your never a non smoker for a few years. It's been hard!!! Anyone else in the same boat?? It's a sore subject I know.
Yummie, a dip in the pool does sound lovely!!! It's very frosty here. Quite Christmassy, but cold!!!

Missvaughan85 · 19/12/2013 08:47

So you think it's ok to eat prawns hungry?? I was unsure?? X x

HungryHorace · 19/12/2013 08:50

If they're cooked, I'd eat them.

But I also eat runny eggs and had medium rare steak on more than one occasion last time!

I'm quite relaxed about food really. :-)

HungryHorace · 19/12/2013 08:54

Basically, if you can trust the source / cook then I don't think there's much that you really need to avoid.

Ultimately it's all up to you and how you feel during your pregnancy, like everything else such as flu / whooping cough jabs etc. xx

miserywaterfall · 19/12/2013 10:01

Missv good for you for quitting, but it's none of our business if you do or don't quit, we're not here to judge :) Stay strong!
Everyone on this post seems so lovely, I find it hard to believe we'd be so mean as to go mad at someone for their own choice... right ladies? :D

Finally feel like this UTI is on it's way out, still sore and twingey but the pain's not as strong as it has been so yay! Of course now I have a stinking cold... guess my immune system is a bit meh at the moment. A friend said similar happened to her this early, she caught everything going as all the focus is on the little one growing that it leaves very little for us mamma's!

Hope everyone's okay today? Been off college all week and feeling guilty, but I am finally starting to see a glimmer of feeling better so I guess it's been for the best!

HungryHorace · 19/12/2013 10:07

I'm glad you're feeling better, misery. :-) And don't worry about college. It'll still be there after Christmas!

I've got a cold too. I sneezed so much overnight. Annoying! :-/

Still only feeling intermittently pregnant. I detest early pregnancy. I'm glad that, all being well, this is my last pregnancy!

talulahbelle · 19/12/2013 10:12

hungry I'm starting to sneeze too. Grr damn winter germs.

Not really feeling that pregnant anymore, was only up in the night once to pee, and managed to eat pretty much all of my breakfast. I'm hoping this is just the nausea tailing off as I finish my 9th week and start my 10th week on Saturday.

miserywaterfall · 19/12/2013 10:15

Ahh I know what you mean Hungry Every day is just a worry. I've calmed a bit this week because whatever's going to happen will happen, there's little I can do to stop it this early on, but it really is a 'take one day at a time' thing.

I just want my bloody letter from the midwife! I am obsessively listening for the postman every day!

2beornot · 19/12/2013 10:37

Misery - absolutely!! I never give advice to people, just say this is what I am doing because of these reasons.

I still have nothing to report. No real symptoms of pregnancy but then I didn't really with my prev two pg (1 mc, 1 successful).

Still can't decide when to tell parents and siblings. Either next week (will be 8 weeks) or wait til after 12 week scan. Tbh if the worse happened I'd need them to have dd so easier if they know I'm pg in the first place. But I know it'll invite lots of questions around te new job I've accepted and will start in march!

HungryHorace · 19/12/2013 10:57

Going back to being given unsolicited parenting advice, the only thing worse than this is smug unsolicited parenting advice. Or just smug parents banging on about sleeping, eating and developmental milestones!

Can you tell it's winding me up right now?!

miserywaterfall · 19/12/2013 11:40

Love it Hungry :D Determined never to be one of those mothers that posts every single thing about their kid on Facebook or the like!

lucyfluff · 19/12/2013 11:49

Nearly puked in co-op this morning....Sad Sad today is not a good day!!!!

Mrsantithetic · 19/12/2013 11:53

Bloody hell you lot don't half talk. I posted on the last thread at 700 and something and now here you all are gassing away on a second thread nearly half way used. Wink

Nothing much to report here. No symptoms except I felt sick late last night but had forgotten to eat fro lunch so a banana later I was ok again.

Had a two hour showdown with dd last night trying to stop her from only sleeping if boob is in her mouth. It's so hard she would feed round the clock if I let her but I need to wean her or at least get her not reliant on it over night. I would love for her to be sleeping through by the time lo arrives. It can happen in 7 months right???

Told the parents who all think it's hysterically funny.

Sorry to see some losses Confused
Welcome to everyone I haven't already said hi too.

2beornot · 19/12/2013 12:14

Oh no, Mrsanti. Poor you (and poor dd too!). How old is she? I have no experience I'm afraid but I can't imagine breastfeeding a toddler and a baby so hope it will work out. Will your body be confused whether it should be producing newborn friendly milk or toddler friendly milk (sorry - I ff fed dd so this is interesting to me!)

Mrsantithetic · 19/12/2013 12:37

She is 15 months. I had intended on feeding her alongside a newborn but tbh she is obsessed with boob and s terrible sleeper so as heartbreaking as it is I think it's time to start the process. She is also still in our room and co sleeps preferably with a nipple in her mouth!!!

So many rods. So little back. Grin

I'm still in shock at being pg tbh. It took nearly three years for dd. although we had planned for a second it wasn't meant to happen straight away!!!

I'm in a panic about my eldest feeling pushed out. She is too little to understand.

HungryHorace · 19/12/2013 12:45

Oh dear, Lucy. That wouldn't have been good!

Mrs, apparently your milk starts to taste different when you're pregnant so it may be that your DD self weans soon enough clutches at straws

LakeOfDreams · 19/12/2013 12:46

Just found this thread not managed to read it all but will definitely catch up at some point.

I'm currently 5+4 really sore boobs and absolutely exhausted all the time. I feel like this is going to be one long old journey. Got a faint positive on the 10th tested again on Tuesday and had a definite positive. Seeing midwife on 9th January which seems so long away (absolutely no patience)

I'm 30 it'll be our first EDD 17 August (according to phone app!!!)

sharkey1187 · 19/12/2013 12:54

Hi lakeofdreams, I'm also 5+4 and due 17th August! also very tired with big, sore boobs...! Welcome!

my Appt is the 7th Jan.. It seems like a lifetime away, especially with Christmas in between Sad

yummiemummieuk · 19/12/2013 12:55

hungry I love prawns, sushi, rare steak, runny eggs etc but I think I'm too scared to risk em! Lol
missv congrats on being strong enough to quit-go girl! And as misery said we won't judge hunny x
lucy and missv yep loving the pool and getting some extra vitamin D from the sun! But it's hard to feel Christmassy :/ keep thinking next Xmas will be amazing though :D
mrs bless you and dd x I think you might have to do a supernan my on her for your own sanity? Lol
Well it's bedtime here so night ladies x keep safe x

yummiemummieuk · 19/12/2013 12:58

Hi lake I'm also 30 and this is my first :) due date ATM is August 12th, got my dating scan 3rd jan-cannot wait! My boobs kill! They were a 36f before I got pregnant! :( I'm living in maternity bras! Xxx

HungryHorace · 19/12/2013 13:34

Hi Lake! I'm seeing the midwife on 9th too, but I'm due on 14th. And yes, it feels like forever away, doesn't it?

I keep trying to go to bed early, but it doesn't work very well. Though I could sleep all week and still be exhausted. :-/

You may feel a bit different, yummie, after a short while of going without! :-) And the prawns I had in Oz were the best I've ever eaten too. Whereabouts are you?

Hollyjokes · 19/12/2013 13:47

Hi ladies, I'm playing catch up again after two awful days of pretty much non stop vomiting. Feeling very sorry for myself at the moment and not wanting to do much except sleep. I'm feeling really guilty that my poor little DD is doing a lot of self entertaining because I just don't have the energy to play with her all the time Hmm

I'm so sorry to hear the bad news of the last couple of days. Sending hugs to you all. X

How are you doing today bronya? Hope your scan brought good news?

Vitamins wise I was just taking folic acid but not managing to keep many down so I'm hardly taking any!

I'm an ex smoker too MissV, well done on quitting Smile
