Morning. Just woken from another horrendous nights sleep, now laying on the sofa with a bowel of cocopops to cheer me up! Living the dream ladies!

Sick of everyone asking me if there is any news yet,via facebook, text etc.

I have my 40 week check tomorrow and I think they will discuss inducing me, but from what I can gather, they don't offer it until 41+5. The thought of 2 more weeks of this is hard to accept, but I'm really sure I will need to be induced.

For the third day in a row, I WILL attempt to go shopping, as the last two attempts ended with my sleeping instead!

Hope everyone else is good!

Sorry for my rant, sleep deprived and fed up.

LeeHandy · 02/04/2014 08:24

good luck, trinpy, badfur and patsy! hope something happens today for you..
blessed,I would love for my baby to be a feeding, pooping, sleeping machine like yours. we took ds for a walk and met our neighbours who have been hearing ds cry at night.. Blush Blush Blush Blush
but we also made massive progress last night and ds slept in his carrycot for the first time instead of on my chest or while I was rocking him. Grin

Sounds like we all had a crap night patsy and badfurday. Cramps got really intense during the night and I started to feel sick, so had a lovely time camped out in the bathroom waiting to throw up. I have a driving lesson tomorrow and thinking of cancelling now. I just don't have the energy to deal with it anymore. Sorry for the self pity. Babies out soon!

Trinpy- don't you know i have friends in high places say HEaven?i am on very good terms with Jesus so i will put in a good word for you tonight when we have our datenightGrin. Pity He just told me that when it comes to dealing with MIL He will not send her to Siberia as requested but told me to hold on because He would be with me all the waySmile.

Badfurday-you call that ranting? Girl you have seen my posts. Please feel free to rant as much as you can. This thread has been the best therapy ever for me. Each time imhave ranted i have come away healed but for you please rant away. These last few weeks are hell. Don't rule going into labour on your own yet though. These babies have a way of surprising us. A few hrs before i went into labour i climbed a small hill with Dd from kindergaten. I had so much energy and felt nothing that it pissed me off. Thought it would go another week, lo and behold exactly 4hrs i was wriggling on my floor with a hot water bottle on my tummy wondering why the BH were so painful that day..

Patsy,Trinpy and Badfurday good luck. We are here to cheer you on, as bad as that sounds because we know what a frustrating process it is. Please babies, come out soon!!
A bigGrin for little Lee who graduated with honours to his carrycot. Well done mini Lee. Mini Lee may want to start thinking about joining the gifted and talented threads with mini BLessed. It's not hard to see how talented these to areSmile.

prettyinpink90 · 02/04/2014 16:41

How are you all ladies? Who will be next to go into labour I wonder???
My DP is convinced that our little lady will arrive on Friday although I'm hoping she stays put for another week or so as I've decided to start decorating the bedroom today Hmm and I have a hair appointment on Friday afternoon for a last minute root touch up before she arrives.

hi mums already James has started to spit up his feeds. im producing a lot of milk and I think he's taking too much in. After he was sick I had tried winding he didn't want more food so I left it until next feed that I'm doing every 2 hours. is this ok I just did a feed but he's in for max 10 mins but didn't throw it up and appears settled and he burped. advice really wanted

LightTripper · 02/04/2014 18:01

Gosh, gifted and talented!! Baby Light is so far behind, she hasn't even graduated from the womb yet Grin

LeeHandy · 02/04/2014 23:19

Hehe blessed, I think I will wait to see if babylee can repeat his feat 2 nights in a row before nominating him for g&t..Grin
Vikki, as long as you have offered a boob to baby, I think you shouldn't worry too much. I don't stick to a schedule with babylee and feed on demand so sometimes if he does a short feed, he will be ready for another one in an hour or quicker and if its a 45 mins feed he can go 3 hours before he demands one again.

Quick update ladies... my waters went about 15 minutes ago! No noticeable contractions yet but have to go in so they can check baby ok. I'm so nervous... Shock

LeeHandy · 03/04/2014 02:35

congratulations pink! Your lo will be with you very soon. Hope everything goes quickly and relatively painlessly. good luck! Grin Grin Grin

prettyinpink90 · 03/04/2014 02:45

Thanks lee the hospital confirmed my waters had gone, checked us both over and I've been sent home to let things progress. If I'm not in active labour by 11pm tonight I have to go back to be induced. Currently getting period like cramps that come and go.

patsy375 · 03/04/2014 03:11

Exciting news Pink! Grin
I am very jealous.
Keep us updated.

patsy375 · 03/04/2014 03:15

Hey pink ive just remembered, didn't you say your dp was convinced baby would come Friday?
Looks like he might be right! Shock
Better cancel your hair appointment!

prettyinpink90 · 03/04/2014 03:42

Thanks patsy yep DP said he thought she would arrive on Friday which is weird as it's very possible. Tried to have a lie down to rest but these niggly pains (mainly in my back) mean that I feel better pacing the house. Keep thinking about taking some paracetamol but not sure if it's too early and whether I should wait a bit longer. Getting quite anxious about how much this is all going to hurt!

badfurday · 03/04/2014 06:19

Yay pink, fab news! Thinking of you!! X

LightTripper · 03/04/2014 08:26

Exciting news Pink - your OH is going to be exactly right or very close!!! Sad that you miss your hair appointment though ... does BabyPink have no respect for appointments? Grin

Looking forward to hearing the whole story when BabyPink is in the world!

BlessedAssurance · 03/04/2014 09:09

Great news Pink-keep us posted and let us know how it's going. Too bad about the hair appointment though i doubt it is on your mind right now,you will look hot anyway. Baby on the way!

Breastfeeding is killing me now. I have big nipples so Ds does not have it all in his mouth, which means the black area outside his mouth is swollen. My nipples are sore and bloody. I breastfed the whole night but on waking up my boobs are so full i could feed all of china. He is properly latched, i just have shitty boobs and i do not know what do to. Expressing is not helping, will it get better? Please someone tell me not to give up because i will heal and not cry just at the sound of my Ds wanting a feed..

LightTripper · 03/04/2014 11:52

Poor you Blessed. I only have second hand knowledge, so probably not much help, but FWIW everybody I know who has breastfed has found it hard to begin with, but many have gone on to breastfeed successfully. Does your midwife unit have breastfeeding counsellors? I know around me there are various council/hospital run breast feeding drop in centres where you go to a baby clinic and they can help you try to figure it out. If you are in London and don't mind throwing money at the problem a friend also sent me details of a private breast feeding counsellor you could try. Let me know if you are interested and I can send you her number.

Maybe there is also kit you can get to help? I know some people use e.g. nipple shields, and all my friends SWEAR by Lansinoh nipple cream: are you using any of those? At least one of my friends has also pointed out that although it feels a bit odd, if your boobs are really overloaded and uncomfy you can squeeze some out yourself (either for LO to drink later, or my friend has just unloaded some into a toilet when she was out and super-uncomfortable!!) But sounds like you are already expressing, so maybe that doesn't help?

Plus I have several friends who did not manage to breastfeed who have gorgeous lovely intelligent secure children, so just remember it is not the be all and end all.

Thanks Light. I haven't had any help at all this time unlike with my first baby. I had a HV come to my house to show me and later at a health center. This time however, They just left me to it when in hospital because Ds latched on properly right away. I am in Norway so some creams available in the Uk might not be available here. Just hope it will get better soon. I wanted to breastfeed as it is si easy to just whip out your boob and feed. At night even better. Thanks again and i will be speaking to a proffessional soon.

LightTripper · 03/04/2014 14:42

I forgot you were in Norway! This seems to be Lansinoh's distributor in Norway - there is a phone number on the website ... might be worth a try. www.poapharma.com/index.php/site/products/dermatology_lansinoh_creme_56g

But basically it is a Lanolin cream I think, so there must be an alternative if not that.

Hope you are feeling better soon - the FB thread also had some interesting ideas re using a shield just for a short time, or squeezing a bit out first before they start feeding ... so those might be worth a go. Hope it gets better soon!

badfurday · 03/04/2014 16:46

Sorry you are having a hard time with bf blessed. Id love to offer some advice, but I am a complete newbie to such things. Hope it improves soon!

Just had my 40 week appointment. They are worried about my blood pressure and did some bloods. I think my blood pressure is borderline, so they have asked me to get it checked twice next week at the GP. Baby is now fully engaged and the doctor I saw thinks she will pop out anytime soon. He said I had lovely wide hips and should "have no problem pushing her out" Oh god, I hope so! Just got told to rest a lot and come back next Thursday if nothing had happened. Ho hum, the wait continues.....

Hope everyone else is doing OK.

prettyinpink90 · 03/04/2014 17:10

Sorry to hear that you are having a few problems breast feeding blessed I can't imagine it's easy at all. I am going to give it a go but not putting any pressure on myself if it doesn't work out.

Hoping that your baby decides to make an appearance soon bad and hope she just 'pops' out as the midwife says!

Not much to report here... I have been in slow labour all day which stopped for a while but now seems to be starting up again after a walk and lots of bouncing on my ball. I have to go back in at 11pm tonight to be monitored and if I'm not in active labour they will induce me... not what I want and will certainly be requesting an epidural!

37+6 (and in very slow labour!!!)
