Vikkijayne2507 · 24/03/2014 17:58

well those braxton hicks turned into real labour. They started hurting me around midnight last night. i was convinced it was a stomach bug as I had a temperature and diarrhoea for most of the day. decided to go in at 4am this morning was 6cm dialated. I was stunned. I had epidural which was great in my experience. James Sebastian was born at 9.20am. was is amazing although a bit sore. He was born at 37 weeks + 5 days

BlessedAssurance · 24/03/2014 18:07

Vikkijayne2507 · 25/03/2014 10:44

thanks guys had a hard night of bad feeding but started today with good feeding so many things to learn on zero sleep am a zombie. He is my first so have everything to learn he weighed 5lbs 7 ozs so is diddy and very sleepy which causes feeding issues. am waiting for oh to come and give me goodies and keep an eye so I can sleep a bit

mamapants · 25/03/2014 14:32

Make sure you get a rest vikki and don't worry about the feeding. Just go slow remember his stomach is only tiny and he only has room for I think a tea spoon of liquid at a time anyway. So if he doesn't manage to latch for long don't get too worried.
I remember the midwives at the hospital really stressing me out about DS' feeding and it really didn't help. But he started on 9th percentile and by 6weeks he was at the 75th so obviously we did just fine Smile

ChurrosConChocolate · 25/03/2014 14:38

Agree with mama, Vikki. They only need a tiny bit at the moment. Just try and get the rest you can and look after yourself. I found being in hospital really tough, especially the nights, but once I was home everything started to fall into place.

patsy happy birthday for yesterday, did you do anything special?

blessed I'm pretty sure you'll go before me! I'm not due til the end of April!

cannot good luck for the growth scan.

patsy375 · 25/03/2014 16:43

Thank you for your birthday wishes ladies.
I had a nice quiet day as older 2 were at school and toddler went to nursery, bliss Grin
In the absence of any alcohol the day revolved around food.
Had lunch with my best friend followed by a slow stroll in the sun then went out for tea with my husband whilst my lovely mum babysat.
Not very rock n roll but all I could handle at 38 weeks especially as it was the non event that is a 39th birthday!
Very grateful that the baby didn't make an appearance too.
Didn't fancy spending my birthday in pain and exposing my nether regions to strangers Blush

LeeHandy · 25/03/2014 19:08

hi all, I started contracting on Sunday morning and went in to hospital. my waters were broken in the evening and was given a little syntocinon to help me along and we had our gorgeous little baby boy at 9.25 pm! no name yet but he is really adorable and so far the feeding is going pretty well. he is much smaller than we expected. only 6 lbs 12 oz at 39 weeks when we were told he was 5 lbs 15 oz at 34 weeks. so have had to order a new bunch of tiny baby clothes.. Smile
congratulations Vikki!! hope you are doing well!
