Thank you everyone! two nights of continuous feeding and no sleep have left me totally dazed. I am so glad dh and my parents are here leaving me to just focus on baby and myself.
wendle I was initially concerned at being totally exposed to a bunch of strangers but honestly at the time, there was so much going on that I couldn't have cared less. and the moment the baby was put on my chest was unreal..
couldn't believe this was my own baby who had been kicking me from inside my stomach just a couple of hours earlier.

those who need inductions, please consider your pain relief options before you actually start the process. you may not have time later.
I knew I wanted an epidural and I got one but it failed (apparently 1 in 20 do for no reason) then I had to switch to gas and air while they figured out another epidural for me.
the gas and air helped with the pain but I hated the dizzy, floaty feeling it gave me. I felt like the end of a very bad drinking marathon.
and it made me nauseous so I was vomiting while contracting!
the second epidural worked and because of the synto I got from 3-4 cm to 10 cm in less than 4 hrs.
unfortunately at that point baby's heart rate started to drop and my consultant found it was because the umbilical cord was wrapped around baby's neck. at that point everyone went into emergency mode and I had to have an episiotomy and ventouse to get baby out quickly.
anyway, apart from feeling sore because of the stitches, both of us are doing very well. I was able to come home the next day.
we're yet to establish a proper feeding pattern but the midwives are very reassuring and helpful luckily and told me that for the first few days as long as baby was weeing and pooing, everything would be fine.
I was also definitely not prepared for baby's stinky farts which does not run in the family at all
wind habits. but the midwife thought it was fine too.
good to know your growth scan went well, cannot!
looking forward to all the babies arriving!
