Oh, ok, then it might something else Naked. My stomach will tighten, i mean really tight. Breathing becomes a little bit difficult but i can breathe through the pain. The skin if you touch it would be tight as well so am not sure if your are BH. Have you talked with your midwife about it?

NakedMum33and3rd · 12/03/2014 16:18

Seeing midwife next week. It's only started over the past week. I feel like my skin is gonna burst open. It stings!!!

Misty9 · 12/03/2014 18:48

Sounds like you've had a growth spurt naked and your skin hasn't caught up yet. Painful. Last time I found it incredible just how much bigger I could get in the last two weeks!

Getting really uncomfortable now and bump feels very heavy. Apparently she's engaged, but that means little for a second time baby as they can pop in and out. Got the first board book about a new baby and ds loves it - keeps asking for it to be read again and again. Good sign hopefully?!

Off to antenatal Pilates now; bloody shattered but I know I'll feel better afterwards if not during the killer arm exercises

welcome Kelly! sometimes HR can be idiots, hope things get better for you soon! and welcome back isean! sorry to hear about the OC!
trinpy, you are taking a driving test in this state? Shock that's something! well, maybe the examiner won't want to fail a heavily pregnant lady! Wink
2 days to go at work! I think it would be nice to relax for a bit after that!

naked I agree with misty about the tight feeling coming from a growth spurt. I have had it for a few days now. try massaging some cream or bio oil into your bump - it may reduce the amount of stretch marks you end up with.

NakedMum33and3rd · 13/03/2014 08:05

That probably makes the most sense. Thanks! I do feel like a whale all of a sudden and have developed the standard 'waddle'! Can't believe it is imminent now! It's only just hit me that I actually have to give birth again!!!! Eek!

Trinpy! Driving test! Wow. Good luck.

Kellyjdancer · 13/03/2014 15:35

I had my 36 weeks appointment with my midwife today. She booked me in for 40 weeks and said she'd be shocked if I need it. She thinks they'll induce me early due to my high blood pressure. $h!t just got REAL!

CountdowntoSummer · 13/03/2014 16:39

Hi all, had my 35 week check up and the baby is head down not yet engaged. The midwife said I might be engaged during my next visit which is in 2 weeks time.. It's getting ore real now..

Vikkijayne2507 · 13/03/2014 23:24

36 + 1 weeks today I took a picture of bump and it looks lower than it was last week. I also realised that I haven't had any heartburn for the week which I'm hoping means baby's moved down taking pressure off of stomach. ive had a few twinges and loads of braxton hicks and bump really heavy and pelvic bone pain really sore on left leg in all positions. im hoping it's all good news baby getting into position.
I had another blood test yesterday and urine test which apprantly is standard in Portugal at 36 weeks it helps paediatrician gawd knows what. Monday I have a tour of the labour block and drs appointment next Friday so hopefully he'll tell me baby's engaged and ready.

Trinpy · 14/03/2014 00:45

Hope your babies are both engaged by your next appointments Vikki and Countdown. The heartburn and not being able to breathe is the worst bit. Mine got to 4/5ths a few weeks ago and hasn't budged since. But I'm more than happy for him to stay put for the minute!

And yes, I am hoping the examiner will take pity on me when I take my driving test. Hoping the baby bump will stop them from asking me to do an emergency stop!

37 weeks today!!! full term Shock .

BlessedAssurance · 14/03/2014 12:34

Taking advantage ahoy Tinpy. Why didn't i think of that?. Get a driving test when highly pregnant just to get out of driving off a hill. I will be getting back on the road after DC is here. I had a licence from South Africa. Never drove. Came to Norway and they drive on the "wrong" side so have to do it all over. Grrrrr.
What's this about babies engaging?. I thought if the baby's head was facing down then it was already engaged. Blush. There is more? Two kids and i do no know this?. Good thing i am going to become a nurseSmile.

Cannotbelieveit · 15/03/2014 08:42

34 weeks today!! Grin

Literally one thing left to get, the brackets for the isofix base in hubby's car and we are done!

Scarily close now

ThedementedPenguin · 15/03/2014 12:46

blessed my baby is head down but not engaged. Engaged means there head has moved into the pelvis. At the minute my baby is still free. Usually at appointments they will feel stomach and say if you are engaged or not. It should say in your notes.

Misty9 · 15/03/2014 14:05

Apparently my baby's head is engage db- but for second and subsequent babies that doesn't mean much as they can bob in and out for weeks. Bump is feeling very heavy and cumbersome now and I'm struggling to do more and more things :( including looking after ds. He's ill again today though so we're snuggling on the sofa :)

Full term next week but trying not to think like that as could well be another 5wks yet Shock

NakedMum33and3rd · 15/03/2014 21:04

So I went through my whole first pregnancy with no stretch marks and I made it to 35+3 in this one. then this morning 'pling' shiny stretch mark reaching up from my belly button!! You were all right about the growth spurt.
I have been rubbing silly amounts of bio oil since 2nd trimester too. Oh well.

Yeh misty I heard that too about 2nd pregnancy. Mine wasn't engaged last week but I think it might be now as I need to wee constantly but nothing comes out! Silly baby on bladder!!

LeeHandy · 16/03/2014 08:01

naked I thought stretch marks would only become visible after the baby was born and the stomach started to shrink!
I am officially on maternity now and I have been dreaming of contractions and labour every night. I am also analysing every twinge. the baby is definitely moving about less now, and I am wondering at what point should I start to worry about too little movement? is any movement ok?

NakedMum33and3rd · 16/03/2014 08:47

Oh well maybe I'm just very unlucky!
A few of my friends got quite a lot of stretch marks during pregnancy. I think it is quite common. I know some people who only got them after too.

Movements do tend to slow down loads towards the end but you do still get them. It's just they are not as big coz of lack of room. More of a squirm feeling than big kicks. But if you are at all worried then just give midwife a call.

patsy375 · 16/03/2014 09:28

Lee wow nearly 38 weeks! Not long for you now hopefully.
Fetal movements are the best indicator a mum has that her baby is happy.
Although they will obviously change as baby gets bigger you should still be having 10 a day.
Any hospital would be happy to see you for a monitoring on the assessment unit if you were ever concerned that your movements were reduced.
Have a look at the Count the Kicks web site if you get chance. Its ran by mums and offers lots of useful info. Smile
37+O today woop woop!

LeeHandy · 16/03/2014 23:19

pasty I checked out the count the kicks website you suggested. I am a bit Shock because I have been relying on a home Doppler to reassure myself and they say we should definitely not do that. I have downloaded the app and will monitor baby's movements to see if it has actually reduced or if it's just me being paranoid. I wish I had known about this sooner!
i am going last minute primark shopping tmw for hospital clothes.
waiting like this is so strange. I have been having vivid dreams of contractions and labour every night. Smile
take care all!

patsy375 · 17/03/2014 10:07

Lol no worries Lee I've always been scairily pale so pasty suits me!
Unless that's how you spell the savoury snack? In which case that suits too as my diet is shocking lately Grin

Cannotbelieveit · 17/03/2014 19:17

Literally any amount of walking is causing me so much pain after! My back kills and it's like I've been kicked in the foof?!! Didn't have this last time!Confused

NakedMum33and3rd · 17/03/2014 19:21

cannot, was literally about to write the same post!!! So much pain!!

I really hope this one arrives early like DS did!

Cannotbelieveit · 17/03/2014 19:26

Naked I'm fine with early too as long as he's cooked enough!!! As long as it's not march 31st as that is DS1's 1st birthday!
