I remember we were due date buddies before my dd got changed Bart, so I was Shock when I read that you'd had your dd already. Im glad she's ok and I really hope the tests come back clear so you can take her home, and hopefully get a bit more sleep!

And yes, Misty, pack your hospital bag! I also have a feeling that babymisty will be putting in an appearance before 40 weeks.

Dh's best mate has bet him £20 that our baby will be born in March, so I'm trying to hold out until next month - could do with the cash tbh Grin .

Oh wow Bart that sounds crazy. Hope you get home for the hospital soon and all the tests are clear.

I had my 'show' today. Only 34+4 weeks. Had it with DS a week before he was born (39 weeks) Hope this isn't the same thing.

prettyinpink90 · 09/03/2014 19:17

Glad you are both doing well bart hope that you are both able to leave hospital tomorrow!

I am absolutely fuming and panic stricken (this will probably sound really silly!). The in-laws invited us round for dinner tonight. As I was eating I noticed a few pieces of raw bacon! They have no idea how they got in there and insist that they used a separate chopping board for the bacon to the cheese that I put all over my pasta. I'm not convinced and now worried that everything was contaminated and it will harm the baby. I've been so careful about what I've been eating and how it's prepared whilst pregnant too...!

LightTripper · 10/03/2014 10:55

Contragulations Bart! She is gorgeous.

The first of our NCT group had her baby on Sunday. She knew her DD was going to be super-early as her waters had started to go at 28 weeks. She was born at 30 weeks (yesterday!) - so is on NICU but seems to be doing well. Feels a bit odd though, as I was supposed to be first in our group and this lady was stood way down the other end of the line - must be a huge shock when they arrive that early, even leaving aside the health stress. I am still nowhere near ready now at nearly 34!

Have been a bit absent from the thread lately as things have been crazy busy at work. Got through our big deadline last Thursday so a bit calmer now. Now just need to spend the next month getting handover properly sorted out and trying to leave things in a good state. Is going to feel so weird not being at work. When I got pregnant I was really looking forward to some time doing something different - now it's closer it's all a bit scary.

Hope everybody else is doing well.

LT xx

That all sounds a bit scary bart, glad you're both well and hope you've managed to get home by now - I remember how stressful it was to feel 'imprisoned' in hospital :(

naked I'm pretty certain I had a show at 34wks (when I didn't have this until 40 odd weeks with ds) and she's still in there two weeks later :)

I hear you all re getting the bag ready, but I really think she'll follow her brother and go overdue :) and I want a home birth, which can't happen until 37wks +, so she needs to stay put for another week at least!

Having a relaxing day today as grandad has ds. Starting to worry that he's sensing the impending event and is being a bit weird with me wanting daddy all the time :( and he's in our bed most nights now... (Ds, not grandad!) I'm going to get some books about new siblings - any recommendations? The house in my mummy one is more about pregnancy...

35+5 (home birth midwife visit tomorrow, eek!)

BlessedAssurance · 10/03/2014 13:39

pretty that must have been horrible for you and you are very right to be mad. It must have been just a mistake on their part but am sure it will go well with the baby. I ate running eggs twice a week during the first trimester and a whole lot of other things i shouldn't have eaten and stopped when i realised. All is well. Please try not to think much about it and not stress yourself more than you already are.

Misty phwee, glad it's Ds in bed with you most nights not grand-dadGrin. Dd nearly 4 has been coming into our bed since she found out we were having another. We still put her in her room though and since i ditched DH for the guest room with a better firm matress that offers support for my back, Dd thinks my place is now hers. Of course she uses the i had a bad dream card and it works all the time.

No show here whatsoever. Last night had serious BH. Close together and very uncomfortable. I thought i was having the baby. Woke up this morning feeling a bit sick, had lots of energy even managed to change the bedding on my bed. I normally need DH to help me with the bedspread not pregnant, but i did it by myself this morningConfused.

I am more anxious about MIL coming back from her 3months vacation than the birthSmile. There was so much peace. She is getting back on my due date and i can not say i am thrilled. Dh promised me that no one will be allowed to come to the hospital soon after i give birth. That makes me feel loads better.

CountdowntoSummer · 10/03/2014 13:52

Hi all, I'm 35+1 today and it's my first. All the movements I feel are high up by my rib cage. Is this normal or should the baby have dropped by now?

BlessedAssurance · 10/03/2014 14:02

Very normal countdown and babies do not have a fixed schedule, thank God for that. Some babies drop earlier while others are quite happy to wait only to drop a few days before they are born. 35 weeks is not that late imo because some people will go to 42 weeks [i did] so there is plenty of time for your LO to drop.

NakedMum33and3rd · 10/03/2014 15:33

Yeh so normal countdown. Mine hasn't dropped yet and midwife says no problem. Sometimes they only drop when you go into labour.

I'm seriously craving kebabs at the moment. Yikes.

CountdowntoSummer · 10/03/2014 16:29

Thank you NakedMum and Blessed. That made me feel a bit better!

LeeHandy · 10/03/2014 21:14

Bart hope baby can go home soon with you! take care...
pink don't stress too much about the bacon. it can't be helped now and worrying will probably be worse than anything you may get from the meat.
today I had to leave work in the morning because I was feel nauseous. I haven't felt nauseous during the whole pregnancy so it was very strange so I was a bit concerned. feeling much better after a nap and just relaxing.
light having the baby at 30 weeks is Shock Shock! the first one in my nct group is due in 8 days and there's no sign of it yet. I am pretty certain I won't make it all the way till my date though.

37 today.

LightTripper · 11/03/2014 11:54

Hello kelly! I am a bit behind you - only 34 weeks - but also my first, also expecting a girl, and also clueless!!

NakedMum33and3rd · 11/03/2014 12:11

Hi kelly
I'm on my second pregnancy (don't know the sex) already have a 23 month old DS. Still feel as clueless as first time round though. I couldn't have have a more different pregnancy! Everyone keeps saying it must be a girl! Oh well we will find out in a few more weeks!
I'm 34+6 weeks!

Isean · 11/03/2014 12:45

Hello all!
Can I join please? I'm 33+0 today. I think I did say hello way back, but as my due date was 29th April I joined the May thread too, fully expecting to have a May baby!
However in the last couple of weeks I've been diagnosed with obstetric cholestasis and it's looking like I'll be induced early.
This is my first baby and I'm a bit clueless and slightly terrified!

Kellyjdancer · 11/03/2014 13:22

I've been very lucky, I have had a very easy pregnancy. Still working as I can work from home. My plan is to work until 39 weeks and then use some holiday before officially starting Mat Leave on my due date.

In the last few weeks I've developed high blood pressure though so now I'm being closely monitored and have been put on medication.

My work is driving me crazy though. Three more weeks and seems like a lifetime. We are changing systems and it's not going well. Add to that my maternity cover doesn't begin until April 1... my last day is April 2.... not great planning HR! I seem to be struggling getting people to agree that I should be phasing back and LESS involved in things now...

ooo, that felt good to get out! ;o)

Trinpy · 11/03/2014 14:26

Hi kelly. Glad your pregnancy is going well and that you continue to manage with work over the next 3 weeks.

Also welcome back to the thread Isean. Sorry to hear you've been having problems and will have to be induced, but it must also be nice to have a definite dd to work around.

I had my home visit from the midwife yesterday. All set to go ahead with the home birth now, and she's dropping round all the kit I need in the morning Smile .

I'm still busy trying to get all my uni work done before the baby puts in an appearance. I'm also hoping to take my driving test a few days before my due date, so hopefully I won't go into labour early!

Vikkijayne2507 · 11/03/2014 14:46

I would really be struggling if I was still working Kelly (I moved abroad in Jan as oh is Portuguese) so hats off to you.

Trinpy eek I hope you get to do your test beforehand and best of luck i was a nervous wreck before mine but actually during the test I was on automatic and was fine.

Cannotbelieveit · 11/03/2014 20:08

Welcome back isean! Sorry to hear about the OC but we are glad to have you here!

NakedMum33and3rd · 12/03/2014 09:19

Hi isean my friend had OC and gave birth to a perfectly healthy little boy at 38 weeks.

Does anyone else's bump feel really tight? I never had this with my first. I feel like my skin is being stretched so tightly over the top of my bump. It really hurts!!

BlessedAssurance · 12/03/2014 15:43

Hi Naked that's braxton hicks for you. I have had them as early as i can remember and yes they can be a pain. Take it this way, they are preparing you for the real deal.

Trinpy wow. Driving and university at 36 weeks? My brains are everywhere right now i don't think i would manage anything uni related. I have been reduced to watching hopeless trash on telly because reading a good book takes me 5 min and i am bored out of my socks. Kudos to you for taking all that up now.

NakedMum33and3rd · 12/03/2014 16:07

Blessed are these Braxton hicks? It's my skin that is sore rather than my uterus. I never had any Braxton hicks with my first pregnancy either so I have no idea what they feel like! I thought they were more period pain like?
