In regards to baby shower games my friend put chocolate in nappies and guests had to guess the chocolate in each nappy. I can't remember the other games she did

Vikkijayne2507 · 23/02/2014 00:58

hey pretty I believe the percentile thing is on average 10 per cent of babies are bigger than yours and 90 are smaller. They tend to see if baby remains on percentile throughput pregnancy and then after birth
33 + 3 weeks

prettyinpink90 · 23/02/2014 10:39

Morning!

blessed we played the following...
Baby bingo (can be printed off the Internet)
Guess the baby food
Guess what size the bump is
Who can dress the doll the quickest
Guess how many sweets are in the baby bottle
Guess the celebrity baby

Hope this helps and hope you have a lovely baby shower! Smile

iloveweetos I also have a MIL who can't keep her hands off my bump! I feel that bump touching is a really personal thing and would prefer people to ask first (apart from DP of course). I don't want to upset her by saying something but I do tend to try and keep her attention away from my bump.

vikki thank you for clarifying that for me. Let's hope she's not an absolute whopper Shock

Trinpy · 23/02/2014 11:50

hello! all these baby showers sound fun Smile . I'm not on fb either so can't see who's had their baby but congratulations to whoever it is!

ilove - how annoying about the rubbing your belly rubbing. I don't mind my in-laws doing it because they have no awareness of personal space at the best of times so I think I'm used to it. When my uncle did it though it felt a bit wrong. So is you mil staying for a week immediately after the baby's born?

I can't believe how tiring it is being pregnant! Feels like the 1st trimester all over again + added baby weight. I have so much respect for women who work up to their due date, it must be really tough.

34+2

Trinpy · 23/02/2014 11:55

Meant to say I'm sorry to hear you have cholestasis, blooming. Hope you're able to get some help to ease the symptoms a bit.

iloveweetos · 23/02/2014 12:10

Lol I'm trying to just sit away from her. I feel mean tho. But I don't wanna end up blurting it out! DH doesn't understand that I wouldn't like it cos I love him touching it! Men!!!
Yeah agreed to stay as soon as baby is here. First grandchild, so feel can't take that away from her.

Trinpy · 23/02/2014 15:50

Sounds awful! I think it's very generous of you to invite her to stay straight after the birth, I hope she gives you lots of help during the early days.

patsy375 · 23/02/2014 16:13

Wow weetos you are very generous allowing your mil to stay with you that first week!
Make sure you make it clear what help you need from her when the time comes though. My mil kept insisiting on "helping with the baby" when actually what I really needed was help with housework cooking shopping etc.
I hate bump touching too.
Never at any other time in life is it acceptable to randomly touch other people's bodies uninvited! People seem to forget that its still part of your body and if they start rubbing as well it makes me very unsettled. Angry

Cannotbelieveit · 23/02/2014 16:19

Family haven't tried to touch the bump at all! I had a few customers that did when I was still at work but that's about it.

I wouldn't mind my own parents doing it but they don't seem to unless he's moving and I ask them if they want to feel.

DS has had a D&V bug since Thursday night and now I have it. Not pleasant at all, I feel horrendous and can barely look after myself let alone him. Might make DH stay off work tomorrow if I still feel like this as I have a MW appt too and don't fancy the 4-5 mile round trip walking there.

31+1 Grin at least it's speeding up now!

iloveweetos · 23/02/2014 16:43

I'd said she could before things got awkward and can't really go back on it. Also she owns the house we live in whilst we save for our own so I kind of feel obligated.
I'm not really sure what she expects to do. Hopefully she doesn't try and have the baby too much. (Lol seems horrible reading over!) I feel very protective and part of me likes that the baby is inside of me and mine at the moment. Trying not to overthink it!!!!

iloveweetos · 23/02/2014 16:44

Oh poor u cannot! I dunno how id cope with d&v. Just rest up as much as possible. (Easy to say I know)

ChurrosConChocolate · 23/02/2014 16:58

weetos I agree, very generous of you to let her stay! I get on well with my MIL but that might be because she lives in Australia ;) I spent the first week after having DS crying, in bed or walking around with my boobs out or a baby attached to them. There isn't much anyone can do to help with the baby the first week so hopefully she'll do lots of cooking and cleaning for you!

cannot hope you and your DS are better soon. Definitely make your DH stay home if he can to look after you both.

Trinpy Being 2cm already sounds great, less to go in labour!! How did you find out though? Did you ask for a vaginal examination?

Noone tries to touch my bump really, apart from DH and DS, and that's ok. One of my cats likes cuddling it though :)

Is anyone else on their second pregnancy finding this time much harder? Maybe I was just a bit fitter, younger and had more time to rest rather than looking after a toddler this time but I don't remember having this many aches and pains until much later on. Maybe I'm just feeling worse as my back is still so sore though.

Excited to hear about the first baby! Also not on the FB group so will have to wait patiently for an announcement here but hope all is well with whoever it is!

Cannotbelieveit · 23/02/2014 17:37

Thanks girls I feel terrible still x hope it's gone by tomorrow Blush

This is my 2nd preg and I'm finding it harder churros but I think more because I got preg when DS was 4 months so my body hasn't had a break

BlessedAssurance · 23/02/2014 17:53

churros it is the opposite for me. This time around i am very fit, did not gain wait other than the bump itself and feel really great. I have moments when i might feel a bit dizzy or tired but it goes over quickly. What helps is my toddler is 4 when the baby comes and she goes to daycare mon-fri and from 9nish to about 3-4. I would like to fetch her earlier but she hates it so it works for me. I have all the time in the world to read and clean but most importantly just be alone. It doesn't help that your back is sore. It is one of the reasons why you are so tired-poor you. Hang in there, the time is getting closer.

Trinpy i was also wondering about the same. If you had a vaginal exam. There is nothing i fear on this earth than a vaginal exam. I was induced and the worst was people touchong me there, i hate it and i am not looking forward to it. I told DH to leave when thry were checking me because i felt so humiliated and it just felt wrong. I guess i should have thought about that before getting knocked up againSmile.

Cannot get well soon and hope things will be better tomorrow. Let Dh take care of you.

Weetos you are a saint among saints. The only person i would want after giving birth is my DM. I spent two weeks with my boobs out because they were sore and bloody. I could not wear clothes and my friends were banned from coming until things had calmed down. I hope your MIL will help with other chores just like the others have already said. She can watch the baby while you sleep too.

Pretty thanks for the suggestions. They sound great and i have played a couple of them. It should be fun. I am looking forward to the shower but not to making the food[me lazy]. Around 15 people coming and i have no idea what to feed them. Thank God for DH who is a wiz in the kitchen so we will both come up with something. As long as there is rice all will be well. I have my lovely Asian friends who will not hesitate to let me know what a rubbish shower it was if i do not provide riceGrin. Experience and all...

36 lovely weeks..yey!!!

BlessedAssurance · 23/02/2014 17:58

cannot get out of hereGrin my word 4 months?. At 4 months i did not know where my boobs or bum was from the pain and the confusion of having a new baby, let alone DTD. It took me ages before i allowed DH near me. He was after all to blame for the labour being so horrible. No way was he gonna be allowed to dip into my honey jar that earlyGrin. Honestly, i wanted to but had no feeling for it so we waited. I am impressed..

Cannotbelieveit · 23/02/2014 18:18

Lol blessed I know we're crazy. It was the first week in our new house and he was going away to a car thing at the weekend!

BlessedAssurance · 23/02/2014 18:23

So you decided to make the best of itGrin i hear you girl. I have to say these days i am living in my bathroom. I have to pee every 5 min. It is a pain as i do not like going anywhere because as soon as i stand up or walk a few steps i have to pee. Why oh why? I am going to stay indoors till this baby comes..

bLooming2 · 23/02/2014 19:58

Connot did you get my pm about Facebook group don't no if I have done it right if I haven't could you pm me sorry to be a pain x

Cannotbelieveit · 23/02/2014 21:22

Vikkijayne2507 · 23/02/2014 21:44

hello all it was running girl who had a lovely little girl called skye weighing 5lb 5oz im on the fb group and she said I could announce it as she rarely comes on mn. Baby is beautiful and runninggirl is doing brilliant as well so exciting to have first baby

ChurrosConChocolate · 23/02/2014 22:06

blessed haha, I was the same! I wouldn't let my husband near me for months (but then I did have a 3rd degree tear so a good excuse!). Glad you are feeling better this pregnancy, I am the opposite way round to you!
cannot you are a little crazy to be pregnant again so soon but I think even though it might be hard in the short term later on it will be lovely as they will be so close together in age.

Congrats to runninggirl! Lovely name too. Makes it all feel a bit real!

prettyinpink90 · 23/02/2014 23:26

Congratulations runninggirl Flowers can't believe we have out first baby of the group already!

prettyinpink90 · 23/02/2014 23:34

Does anyone use a wrap/sling? I really like the idea but have no idea where to start... can anyone recommend one?

MoominIsWaitingToMeetHerMiniMe · 24/02/2014 09:20

Can't believe there's a November thread already Shock

ThedementedPenguin · 24/02/2014 09:50

Wow there's so much happening in here. I usually just stick to Facebook but thought I'd come over and have a read.

Had my 34 week appointment on Friday, baby is measuring small but is following her line/centile so I'm happy enough. Estimated weight on Friday was 4lb 6pz. They reckon she will be 7lb something same as ds. So I'm very happy with that.

Been having a lot of trouble sleeping over the weekend. Just cannot get over to sleep even though I'm knackered. Hoping tonight will be better.

Is anyone planning on watching OBEM tonight?
