I had to go see my gp/nurse practitioner today and she said there was a lot of protein in my urine.
she took my blood pressure and said that it's fine. I asked at that point about pre eclampsia and she said it could be a possibility but my blood pressure was fine. Hmm
so got to go back tomorrow and give another urine sample- they must love the stuff haha!
plus she also said to get signed off work but only a gp can sign me off. Not having much luck! :(

welcome cold! I liked the mamas and papas sola and armadillo. we didn't go for them in the end because of the handle heights though, as both dh and I are tall. we are getting the uppababy and though we ordered ours back in January we are only picking it up in mid March 2 weeks before I am due. your warranty begins when you pick it up so from that point of view it's worth making the actual purchase as late as possible.
I have a scan tmw so looking forward to that.
I checked with my nct lady about bh and she says that apparently we have contractions every day of our lives whether we feel it or not. so it's perfectly normal to have them and feel them when we are pregnant. she did also say that it's rare that they hurt, but in the end they are nothing to worry about.

I hope it isn't preeclampsia smiles. Hope you can get signed off asap and get some rest.

That's interesting about the bh Lee. My mw also said completely normal to hurt a bit but to call the labour ward if worried and they can reassure. The really strong bh I've been having recently have made me 2 cm dilated so I think that's probably why they hurt so much!

LeeHandy · 20/02/2014 18:17

omg trinpy what happens now that you are already 2 cm dilated? do you need bed rest or something to stop you from going into labour? Shock
I had my scan today and it was lovely to see baby again. He weighs 5lb 15oz already and is really long, unsurprisingly! Grin

Well done baby lee for being healthy and longGrin

Trinpy · 20/02/2014 23:08

No I haven't been offered anything and mw doesn't seem concerned. I googled it and seems like loads of women are dialated early on and it doesn't mean premature labour so I'm not too worried.

Congrats on the scan. Sounds like baby is growing nicely Smile

smilesallround247 · 21/02/2014 12:12

got another gp appointment today- they must love me in there ha!
I'm going to get signed off or at least try to.
What do I tell the gp? that I'm struggling at work etc? Thanks

ColdCottage · 21/02/2014 12:35

Smiles - this will mean your Mat leave automatically starts which will mean less time once the baby is born. Can you speak to work about reduced hours perhaps if you want to avoid this? You might not mind starting it early though, just thought I'd point this out just in case.
Know I'd love to stop now as knackered but need the money.
Hope you feel better.

smilesallround247 · 21/02/2014 12:55

Work has reduced my hours as much as they can and they can't offer me any sat down work- I work in a pub Sad If I could keep going I would but im not going back to work after I've had her so it doesn't matter about how much time I get with her. Thanks though. Smile Thanks

LightTripper · 21/02/2014 14:01

Sorry you're having a rough time smiles. Hope you can get signed off quickly and feel better soon. I imagine you just tell the GP what you have told us, and then if they need to ask any specific questions they will!

And well done baby Lee that is indeed impressive growing!

Still haven't had any noticeable BH... weird to think people are having them all the time without knowing!

Work still crazy, but big deadline is less than 2 weeks away now, so should get calmer by then.

Also ordered our buggylast night (going for the Graco Evo Mini). Mothercare were offering 40 off, and we had a 50 voucher, so it was only 90 in the end - feel quite chuffed with that! Hope it is OK now... It is a very jolly colour (Latigo Bay) - which is obviously the most important thing.

Hope everybody has a good weekend!

LT xx

hi smiles. Just tell your gp everything you've said on here about how much you've been struggling at work and about the nurse advising you to be signed off. Unless you've asked to start mat leave earlier, your work can't make you start it earlier than 36 weeks if you are signed off. Though I know this isn't so much of an issue for you if you're not planning on going back anyway.

Really hope things get better for you soon, it sounds like you're having a really tough time of it atm.

smilesallround247 · 21/02/2014 14:30

Hey everyone thanks so much for all the support. saw a gp and been signed off now :) :)

prettyinpink90 · 22/02/2014 23:33

Haven't wrote on here in a while but I'm always lurking to see what everyone is up too! Hope you are all doing well?

Oooohhh first baby of the group but I don't have facebook so can't see who it is. Congratulations Thanks

Had my midwife appointment on Wednesday, baby is a good size apparently and measuring on 90th centile... still a little confused about what this means?
It was my baby shower today which I celebrated with friends and family! We played lots of baby themed games and I received lots of thoughtful gifts... I just have nowhere to put anything atm whilst the nursery is being decorated.
Really enjoying our NCT classes and I finish work on Friday to start my maternity... only 5 working days to go!

BlessedAssurance · 22/02/2014 23:57

pretty i have a baby shower on yhe first of march. Would you be willing to share with me some of your baby themed games. I could not think of a single one. TIA.
ilove i know how irritating that is. My MIL and i are not close so the idea of rubbing my tummy would never cross her mind. However i have stopped people from work from rubbing it because i was starting to feel like Budda, something people rub for luck and i hated it. Just put your hands in front of you when talking to people.
Not on facebook atm so won't be seeing the gorgeous babies. Just hate FB with a passion but might have to go back when baby comes to share a pic with family and friends.

iloveweetos · 23/02/2014 00:40

Blessed we got on ok until a disagreement a while back. Since then a few things were said by her couldn't be taken back. Which makes it all the more the more odd lol
I'm trying to cover bump but she manages to just touch it anyway or touches my leg. (Not in a weird way lol) i just wanna have my own space!!!!!! Hopefully she's only staying tonight! I agreed for her to stay a week after the baby is born. Hopefully she's not too in my face...worried lol
Sorry about the rant! Lol x
