BookTart · 12/12/2013 18:51

toby you poor mare, burns are so horrible. I hope they can get you an appointment soon.

Excellent bonus scan frizz! I wish Id booked a private late one now - can't wait to see her.

frying if you are in labour can you pick us all up on the way in, so we can all shout CUNTPUFFINS at the triage people?

fryingpantoface · 12/12/2013 19:33

I'm up for a mass sit in!

TobyLerone · 12/12/2013 19:33

Right. Everyone stop what you're doing.

Did nobody notice Purple saying that she has BELGIAN CHOCOLATE-DIPPED OREOS???

Sultanajo · 12/12/2013 19:38

purple that's a tad mean leaving you tonight and going to a second Xmas do....! On the plus side your friend is an angel doing the cake etc. Yay!

Toby omg! That doesn't bear thinking about does it?

Felix90 · 12/12/2013 19:44

MN stopped working on my ipad and now there's mention of Belgian dipped Oreos. IS THIS REALLY A THING?! Good lord I would kill for those.

Naturegirl82 · 12/12/2013 19:47

Frizz glad you got good news Smile

Sorry to everyone else's crappy days and medical mishaps, hope everyone gets the appointments that they need. Been so many crappy days today.

I finally sorted out my display cabinet today which I'm really pleased about. Now got all our lovely crystal wedding presents on display only took 5 years!! So tomorrow's job is putting stuff away in the cupboard that has now been vacated.

Also seen one of the photos from my maternity shoot and it's lovely Grin

fryingpantoface · 12/12/2013 19:59

BELGIAN CHOCOLATE-DIPPED OREOS!!! Oh my gosh!!

belly is still tightening on and off. So, I decided to have a rummage down there and compared to a couple of days ago, i'm certainly more dilated. Which is encouraging. Roll on tomorrow at 10.15 when my tooth gets sorted

chocoloulou33 · 12/12/2013 20:43

frying sounds like u may be proving those doctors wrong!!! Keep us updated x
toby ouchy hope ur ok x
puggle I cant seem to pm you. I can only reply to people once theyve pm'd me. Stupid phone x

chocoloulou33 · 12/12/2013 20:45

Sorry about all the kisses on last post. I forget who I'm talking too sometimes Blush

Sultanajo · 12/12/2013 21:49

Lol choco! The number of times I have had to delete kisses before posting! Its so automatic!

frying sounds as though things are all moving in the right direction....ekkk!

AnotherStitchInTime · 12/12/2013 21:56

What a day for many of you!

frying hope it is nothing to worry about, was it fresh red blood? Keep an eye out for a raised temperature or yellow, green or pink discharge in case your waters have gone as you will be at higher risk of infection.

toby that sounds painful, hope it heals quickly. So lucky it wasn't your nephew.

purple that must have been scary, glad it has settled down and your dd had a good day.

sarah glad you are home, hope your bp is lower for your next check.

sultana when you have a mobile baby/toddler you become on high alert all the time, it becomes normal. You learn to scan a room and anticipate dangers. I was much more blasé second time around though.

frizz good news,.hope baby stays head down.

Hope the rest of you are coping ok.

So had GTT, sister midwife will phone me tomorrow with the result. Scan showed excess fluid and baby over 95th centile at 6lb/2.8kg for 33 weeks, they are worried I am developing gestational diabetes. Not convinced myself, I have big babies anyway and boys are often bigger than girls, we shall see. Upshot of this is I now have to see the consultant next week because I am now at even higher risk due to increased chance of early labour, am really hoping GTT is negative otherwise they might re-admit me.

Felix90 · 12/12/2013 22:01

I've posted a thread about this but you ladies may be able to help!

Me and OH have never spent Christmas together and always gone to our own parents (mine are 40 mins drive, his 1.5hrs) and this year we decided we would both go to his parents for Christmas. Due to the whole early induction situation, we could potentially have a very new baby on Christmas Day, or I'll be very close to giving birth, so we have decided it would be best to just stay at home. His Mum has been very kind and is going to order us a load of Christmas food from the posh farm shop she goes to and is going to drive down with food and presents nearer to the day, so we don't have to worry about dinner. I am just terrified that it's going to be a rubbish disappointing day with just the two of us! We will end up eating dinner then watching telly like we do every other day... We are both used to having big family Christmases so it's going to be odd! Our friends are away for Christmas so we won't have any visitors or anything.

Does anyone have any ideas of stuff we can do to make it feel a bit more of a special day? We will have a nice breakfast, open presents and have dinner etc. but what else? It's totally irrational but I'm so worried about it Blush OH really isn't bothered and is trying to reassure me that we will have a nice relaxing day, but I feel under so much pressure for it to be special. Please help!

TobyLerone · 12/12/2013 22:17

Eating a nice dinner and watching TV just the 2 (or 3!) of you sounds heavenly just as it is.

Felix90 · 12/12/2013 22:19

OH said he will just be happy to spend the day with me, which is sweet. Poor sod is going to be waiting on me hand and foot all day!

enjoyingscience · 12/12/2013 22:27

Goodness me, what a bad day we've had. So sorry to all who've been in and out of hospital - let's hope you both stay out now sarah and purple

frying I hope things move or at least that the bleeding/leaking stops soon Flowers

toby maybe stick to tepid drinks from now on, that burn sounds horrific!

felix a quiet Xmas sounds fab! but I can see why you're worried. If you're still pg, maybe there's a lovely walk you can plan? Or buy two sets of pjs and stay in bed all day. I bet you'll love it on the day!

sultana I think your own toddler learns what can and can't be picked up in your own house. DS was a mare in other peoples houses, but really fine in ours. I think we're a bit slack though, so this is probably luck rather than judgement.

It now looks like we will exchange tomorrow, and move on Wednesday next week. I've done nothing to get ready for moving, and I'm shitting it. Going to spend the weekend taking things to the tip, and am really hoping we can get a removal firm tomorrow! (If it goes ahead, I still don't trust our crazy bitch buyer).

fryingpantoface · 12/12/2013 22:28

I'm still bleeding, just when i wipe. It's browny pink. More pink. The same as it was in hospital. Sigh.

Felix - Christmas day is just going to be us three and I'm looking forward to it. Have a lie in, get changed into nice pjs, have a posh breakfast (we're having eggs benedict, croissants and fruit salad), watch a Christmas movie on the couch. Have a lovely dinner. Afterwards, have a nap, go for a walk. Just basically enjoy the peace. We'll be doing the above really, as long as toddler ds wakes up later! I'm keeping him up until 10 on Christmas eve for more chance of a lie in

Felix90 · 12/12/2013 22:35

Enjoying I do not envy you having to move at this point! Hopefully exchange goes to plan and you can get sorted. It's so stressful moving but worth it once it's done.

Frying I have had the same sort of advice on the thread I posted. I know I'm just putting pressure on myself for it to be a special day, but I should just enjoy spending time together and eating everything in sight. I'm going to invest in some new Christmassy pyjamas for the occasion! Feeling a bit better about the whole situation now. Someone else suggested Skype-ing family too which is a good idea I hadn't thought of Smile

chocoloulou33 · 12/12/2013 22:36

Hope all goes ok with the move enjoying and crazy bitch buyer goes thru with it all ok with no problems for you.
felix xmas sounds lovely. Heaven actually lol. Dont get me wrong I love our family and our kids but the thought of all the madness this year and being heavily pregnant is just aaaghhhhhhh. Watching xmassy tv and films in bed with a load of food sounds fun and maybe some board games if u into that. Me and oh are but we are just saddos hehe.

AnotherStitchInTime · 12/12/2013 22:39

Browny pink is ok frying, it is old blood. When I have had my bleeds they have only worried about fresh red.

Crossing fingers that your exchange will go through enjoying, I'm sure you would like to have that sorted before Christmas.

Low key Christmas is great Felix, slob about in pj's all morning, cook and eat when you want, nap after gorging yourself, watch what you want on tv....

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 12/12/2013 23:28

felix been meaning to say all day - on your hospital bag list, you need going home clothes for you. Been niggling me that I didn't say it earlier because you are not of course a grown adult who will think of it herself

toby ouch ouch ouch. Thank goodness you are okay -ish and that nephew didn't get splashed.

enjoying you cannot do the moving, therefore you should stop worrying. Your mantra must be 'pregnant ladies do not move, they are moved.

yule log was good, but not enough sponge - going to up mix by a third for Christmas one, and put Tia Maria in the cream filling, I think. It's a v easy recipe - just the rolling is slightly difficult/technical, but not even that is really hard.

Christmas cake is just out of the oven and looks good - now to FEEEEEEEDD it!

Hope everyone has a better day tomorrow - and that pains, worries etc all subside. We're down to Dorset for a wedding, so no MN until Sunday for me. Sending you all hugs in the meantime.

Felix90 · 12/12/2013 23:33

Humpty that's the most obvious thing ever and I can't believe I forgot it haha! I'd have ended up sending OH home to fetch clothes and I know for a fact he would turn up with a pair of jeans I've probably not fit in for about 5 years, and a leotard (obviously I do not own a leotard, but that's exactly what he would bring if I did!!). Thank you Grin

enormouse · 13/12/2013 01:25

Low key Christmas sounds lovely felix. Sounds like you'll be very pampered.

Toby wishing you a speedy recovery. I've done that to myself with tea.

Everyone seems to be being put through the mill today, so I'm hoping you're all asleep or resting up at least.

Am still up, listening to DP snoring and watching how I met your mother. I am so uncomfortable, any tips for dealing with a sore pelvis, thighs and fanjo? I feel like I've been kicked by a donkey. Mws says they can't do anything about it, as I can still get about and walk. It's just bloody sore right now. Can anyone recommend some good sleeping positions? Should I get a special pillow?

Oh and I've finally got my tree, at last. Xmas Smile

MrsVDB · 13/12/2013 07:00

I feel sorry for all of you with snoring dhs. In our house its me at the moment. The Wide awake mouth train impression im doing means I'm dribbling like a trooper too. Woke up the other day with a rash on my arm due to having slept in a pool of dribble. Yes it really is that bad. Think it's due to the way my face/ neck is swelling up cake but poor dh hardly ever wakes me up over it

Sultanajo · 13/12/2013 08:43

morning ladies! Heres hoping for good days all round!

felix your quiet Xmas sounds lush and do you know what will make it special? The fact that it will be just the two of you and it will be different from any other year! You will always remember this one!

Toby hope they sort you out today.

enjoying (I think....) fingers firmly crossed for exchange going thru... I really don't envy you right now, but it will be totally worth it once you have moved!

Sleeping upright is the only way I can get comfy WRT sore hips, pelvis, fanjo.....

frying hope you are ok this morning....

Arghhh, cant remember everything else I have just read!

Felix90 · 13/12/2013 09:13

Enormouse I have SPD so have been suffering with pelvic pain for a few months now and it's only getting worse! I find I now have to sleep on either side but sort of at an angle, so not entirely on my side or entirely on my back if that makes sense? Normal pillow between the legs as it seems to stop a bit of the pressure on my hips/knees. I toss and turn a lot though (but not as much now as it's so much effort to turn over!). Can't sit on the settee for too long any more as it's too painful. Found sitting on a higher up solid chair a lot more comfortable!

Don't bother buying a special pillow as I'm sure it's just a gimmick. Just use a normal one. I also read a trick about sewing two pillow cases together if you wanted a longer pillow for between your legs Grin
