Hello!

So I'm actually due around 27th July but I went two weeks overdue with my first so I'm pretty sure this will be an August baby Smile

Is there anyone else who is newly pregnant and would like to join me?

PinaColadas · 07/12/2013 20:34

Aww Talulah I feel bad thinking I swayed you away but I think you've made the right decision. I'm worried I've done too much, after the sniffing my drink I stepped it up a notch and even ended up dancing and staying out til 2 when all I wanted to do was lie in bed. Why must we prove ourselves. Hope you have a nice relaxing night and good to hear your spotting has stopped.

RosesOnTheWane · 07/12/2013 20:38

Can I join? Not sure of due date, complete miracle and surprise - took 7 yrs to conceive our twins who are now 4 and so thought no need for contraception.
So got 2 strong lines this morning after feeling surprisingly grumpy and tired at work this week and realising that my last af was several weeks ago. Think mid July to Early aug due date. She'll shocked as we hadn't planned any more. Keep thinking I will wake up soon.

travispickles · 07/12/2013 20:42

Wow roses! I thought mine was a surprise! Still when it sinks In its a nice feeling. I am determined to not let the worry and angst ruin a moment this time unlike last time

Nulanoo · 07/12/2013 21:47

Hi everyone, spent the evening wrapping presents, I'm feeling less sick today too which is nice!

Just wanted to see if anyone knows with the 12 week scan do you automatically get given a time slot or can you choose? I'm starting a new job in January so really don't want anyone knowing and would prefer to go after work if possible (bad timing I know but we are still over the moon!)

X

HungryHorace · 07/12/2013 22:11

Hi Roses! That must have been one hell of a surprise! I hope you've both recovered now. :-)

Is anybody else quite windy / burpy? I'm just SO attractive at the moment with wind escaping at regular intervals.

Polkadot1 · 07/12/2013 22:56

Nulanoo I got my 12 week scan appointment through the post- a set time. You could probably call and change if though? In our area there aren't evening clinics- so you'd probably have to say you had a "Drs appointment"? Or take a half days holiday if you really wanted to keep it quiet?

Nulanoo · 07/12/2013 23:22

Thanks for your reply ooh this is tricksy as can't really book holidays in my job. I suppose they'll find out sooner or later!! Just nervous!

funkymonk · 07/12/2013 23:54

Welcome Rose! What a suprise for you!

I didn't go to my works xmas party last night either. I had already paid for my ticket but that was back in September so kinda felt like I wasn't losing any money as paid so long ago. I just said I wasn't feeling great so couldn't be bothered with it. Again like Tallulah I wouldn't have been able to relax there anyway as now on my 8th day of brown cm and am on crotch watch like a mad woman! It's been so hard to concentrate on work this week. I have repeat scan on wednesday so am debating taking monday and tuesday off as I literally can't focus on anything else!

Mrspeacock81 · 08/12/2013 07:05

Hi all, can you add me to the list? BFP just yesterday- due on 11th August. Im 32 and this will hopefully be our first. Been trying for well over a year. Had one miscarriage ending with an ERPC almost exactly this time last year:( hoping for a better outcome this time but don't think I'll be able to settle until I'm further down the line. (just like the rest of you!)

Missvaughan85 · 08/12/2013 09:59

Hi ladies, can I join, expected due date 15th August. Still can't believe the bfp, line isn't as dark as I would like. So I'm going to keep testing. To reassure myself. It has gotten darker since Thursday. Anyone else had this. I've been using clear blue. Non digi's. Don't want to waste it just yet!!! X x

deuscat · 08/12/2013 10:17

Hi ladies. I'd like to join this thread please. I've been lurking for the last few days since I got my BFP on Thursday as I didn't want to get too excited at such an early stage but I've been obsessively reading and downloading apps so I've decided to give in!

This is our first baby, 3rd month trying to feel very lucky. Due date 10th August.

The only symptoms I've had so far are very sore boobs and sore / aching hips. Also some strange cramping feelings very low down. Also on constant knicker watch.

I've not been to the GP yet. I just registered at a new GP on Friday since moving and I have a 'new patient' appointment with the nurse on Saturday so I'll ask her about what to do next with regards to midwife.

So excited Grin

Oh and I think I read about a private Facebook group? I'd love to join if it's totally private and won't be seen by any of my friends.

HungryHorace · 08/12/2013 10:44

Hi newbies!

Sorry for your loss, Misspeacock. Let's hope you have a totally uneventful pregnancy. :-)

Deus, if you PM your Facebook details to Hollyjokes she can add you to the group.

Missvaughan, I don't like blue tests much. They don't seem as good as pink ones. And your hcg levels will double every 48 hours or so, so the line should darken every couple of days. :-)

Hollyjokes · 08/12/2013 10:49

Morning ladies, hope everyone is well today?

Welcome and congratulations to all the newbies Smile

Deuscat - pm me your real name & email address and I'll add you to the FB group. It's completely secret, don't worry! Smile

Piña I'm angry on your behalf too! If you wanted your colleagues to know you were pregnant this early then obviously you'd just tell them, it's so annoying that they feel it's ok to gossip about you. My colleagues are very much the same and I'm thinking about giving my Christmas Do a miss next week for this very reason Angry

Silly I might be having an ELCS too. Undecided at the moment but will discuss with a consultant later on.

Talulah sorry to hear you've had pink/brown cm again. I was talking to the MW about mine on Friday and she told me it's completely normal and as long as it's not fresh red blood and/ or pain then try not to worry. I hope that everything turns out well for you x

Holly, are you veering more towards an ELCS do you think? Or will you keep your mind open until after you've seen the consultant and see what they recommend in your situation?

The tears have started here now too. DH thinks it's hilarious as I was crying at all sorts last time, including camera adverts (one which showed a wedding in particular as we got married two days after my BFP last year!).

Hollyjokes · 08/12/2013 11:33

Hungry I'm trying to stay open minded as I think there's pros and cons for both an ELCS and a VB in my situation. It's going to be a tough decision!

OP posts:
DinkyMole · 08/12/2013 11:37

Yay Missvaughan! Congrats! Line getting darker sounds great to me. Do the digi, I bet it will come up Smile

talulahbelle · 08/12/2013 12:15

Hey all - touch wood no more tinted CM today. Although I'm on knicker watch.
I had a cornual ectopic back at the start of the year, so am recommended an ELCS after that. Rather glad as I didn't fancy the idea of a VB anyway.

Just had to cancel going to a friends bday meal later this month (cash problems, DH wants to head to his family that night, and as I am getting steadily worsening evening sickness I don't think I will be able to cope with the food smells, not in an Indian restaurant) and she has not taken it at all well. Guilt.

Missvaughan85 · 08/12/2013 14:36

Hi dinky, it's nice to be here. Still feeling a little dubious about bfp, I've looked back at past couple of days sticks af the line has faded on them. Although it came up writhing the 3 mins, now I'm here I feel so worried about it not being true x x

HungryHorace · 08/12/2013 14:45

Miss, I'm sitting here feeling just fine and normal and really not pregnant thinking exactly the same. I think it's normal until symptoms kick in. If they do. Some people have amazingly easy pregnancies but really don't feel pregnant until they feel kicks / hear the heartbeat.

A good mantra I was told last time was: today I'm pregnant. And that's the best way to look at it in the early stages. :-)

travispickles · 08/12/2013 15:27

Hi all. Well feel a bit nauseous but my boobs don't hurt which is making me a bitConfused. Glad things better talullah.

QueenOfGeeks · 08/12/2013 16:17

Hi, I think I will join you. Just got my BFP on Friday, from an FET. So really early days here but think I am due on the 9th August.

Am feeling anxious due to lack of symptoms and nervous that I have to wait until after Christmas for my 8 week ish scan at the clinic.

This will be dc#2 and ds1 is 3yo.

I have no more tests to poas, but trying to resist buying more...

baggyoldcow · 08/12/2013 16:47

Hi all, quick check in on Sunday night. Welcome and congrats to all newbies, this thread is filling up (well, quite a lot of space is taken by us July interlopers Blush)

Pina - can't recall if you mentioned your occupation - but it sounds like a horrid bunch of 'colleagues' if they sniff your drinks and sneer at you for not drinking, whether or not it's anything to do with pregnancy. Very thoughtless. Sorry you had to go through that.

Does anyone else have dreadful headaches? Mine seem to last days.

(Self-pity alert) I've got a stinking cold which is not going away and is keeping me awake all night (along with the peeing).

I also look about 6m pregnant already - I know with twins it's generally meant to be more obvious quicker, but really! There's no way I can hide this from work. I've been away from the office for a week and when I go in tomorrow I know where everyone's eyes will be. There's an assistant who's been making a big thing of how much weight I've lost since my last pregnancy (true) which is very nice of her, but also means she's keeping a close eye! Argh.

I am now officially in my maternity clothes.

I have a scan on Tuesday (7+6) to look for heartbeat/s! Fingers crossed all is well.

Forget who was asking (sorry) but I'll be having a CS - had and EMCS with my first and elective since then.

Oh, and I'm a lawyer btw.

Phew! x

travispickles · 08/12/2013 17:13

Hey baggy, I am having headaches. Are you having twins then? I too have puffed up quick but this happened last time too. Went for a run today but had given me slight pain lower right side - not sure if it was there anyway? Want to keep fit as was woefully unfit last time which I am sure contributed to my EMCS outcome. Will probably go CS this time as couldn't go through the trauma of my last birth again.

RosesOnTheWane · 08/12/2013 17:26

Hey baggy, I was in maternity clothes from 7 weeks with twins too. I seem to have a pg belly already (gawk, hope it is just 1 this time, two sets of twins would be hard work...)
