Hello!

So I'm actually due around 27th July but I went two weeks overdue with my first so I'm pretty sure this will be an August baby Smile

Is there anyone else who is newly pregnant and would like to join me?

baggy yes! To the headaches. The other day I has the most vile headache ever. I don't normally bother will painkillers but paracetamol has been my friend this week! Is this a good or bad sign?!

SliceOfLime · 08/12/2013 20:45

The lure of maternity clothes... But with twins baggy it can hardly be surprising if you're in them a bit sooner! I'm 6 weeks tomorrow and had to undo a button on my jeans at the weekend Blush I think just due to too much food though... despite feeling hideously sick all the bloody time I am still managing to put plenty away - if I don't eat, just feel more sick. Holly did you get your sickness meds? Do they stop you feeling sick or just stop you actually being sick? Am seeing gp for first appt tomorrow and might ask what I can have. Am crying at least once a day at how miserable I feel and at the same time just wishing it sticks and hoping for no mc this time.

Glad things are better tallulah and welcome to queenofgeeks too.

Will go for VB unless any medical problems. I loved the gas and air.... And I want a go of a birthing pool this time! Grin

Howly · 08/12/2013 20:47

I got some sea bands (travel sickness bands ) today, they seem to have taken the edge off! Had them on wrong for a few hours but seem to dull the feelings of nausea now I've got them higher up! Another early night in preparation for another long week at work! My DH is going away with work too, so I'm not a happy bunny! Sad

HungryHorace · 08/12/2013 20:56

I get quite a few headaches. Apparently it's hormonal, so I suppose is a good sign. Really quite painful though.

ItchyBodCrane · 08/12/2013 21:17

Yes to headaches also.

Speaking of nausea, (here anyone sensitive to cat poo stories should look away), we moved our cats today (moving house this week). The house we are moving to is about 35 minutes drive away down motorway/dual carriageway. Because I am a more experienced driver than DH, I took the cats in my car, with him following in another car. Well, about 10 minutes in one of the cats did the most enormous poo imaginable (DH likened it do dinosaur poo later). So I am stuck, not able to open windows because I'm driving 70 (well, after the poo about 80) for 25 minutes, with the scent of giant cat poo filling the tiny car.

How I didn't throw up I don't know. Luckily I was wearing a high collared jacket so I tried breathing through that. I did finally throw up when we got to the house because I had to look at said giant poo. God, not a day to remember. Even typing this is making me gag.

miserywaterfall · 08/12/2013 23:04

HI everyone, newbie here, due on August 8th apparently.

Shocked doesn't even come close to describing my reaction. This will be my first pregnancy and I am a wee bit overwhelmed to say the least :D
I'm 27, an art student, living with my fiancé and a load of pets. Symptoms so far have been sore nipples, mild cramping and feeling absolutely knackered all the bloomin' time!!

Hope to get to know you all a bit better as we progress!

x

eeyore2911 · 08/12/2013 23:04

I'm sorry Itchy but that had me actually laughing out loud!!!! Grin In a sympathetic way obviously....! Blush

Mrsantithetic · 08/12/2013 23:33

Did I see someone say they had a baby in aug 12?

I'm having a freaking out day. I'm finding it all a bit crazy.

Hollyjokes · 08/12/2013 23:34

Oh no itchy, that sounds awful! ConfusedGrin

Slice, yes I got my sickness meds. I only started taking them today and have had my best day in the last couple of weeks. Basically as soon as I get up in the morning I want to throw up straight away, so today I took one of the tablets really while still on bed, then went back to sleep for an hour. When I got up the tablet had kicked in and, although I still felt queasy, I didn't feel like I was about to throw up immediately. I was able to have some toast for my breakfast and kept it down. Couldn't believe it as I haven't been able to keep even water down until at least 2pm-ish every day lately. I made sure that I took my next doses on time and also snacked regularly instead of having big meals and the result has been that I've felt sort of ok today (albeit exhausted still!) I'm hoping for similar success tomorrow. If I have to get through each day with military precision timing of meds, food, rest, repeat, then so be it! It was totally worth it to feel almost human again today! Definitely ask your GP for medication Slice, and that goes for anyone else who's suffering too. Hope your appointment goes well x

I'm hoping for a VBAC this time, had ELCS with my first because she was breech. When I went for my booking in app with what turned out to be a mmc, she said I should have as much chance of a successful vb as anyone else having their first labour. I hope so, really don't want another section.

First scan on Saturday, excited and terrified in equal measures.

TwerkingNineToFive · 09/12/2013 09:24

Welcome Misery, you have joined me and slice as due date buds.
Still no symptoms! Don't know weather to be happy or worried.

flymo79 · 09/12/2013 09:28

oh pina! just read about your night out, what a bunch of prime !-holes. I would have been livid too. I told one of my best friends on the weekend, she and her DH were doing "told you so" looks, which is pretty annoying, and then quite immediately feeling sorry for themselves as they have been married a year, and I guess trying, though not really talking about it. Must say it was all a bit of a let-down! I don't know what I was expecting as really I probably need to not be getting excited until the scan....

deuscat · 09/12/2013 09:34

Flymo - I know what you mean. It's really hard to not get excited till the 12 week scan. But it's impossible! I switch between being excited and positive to thinking I will miscarry because it's so common. However, I'm just trying to let myself enjoy it most of the time now, because the majority of pregnancies ARE healthy.

So last night I was lying on my back in bed. The cat decided to jump onto the bed but landed right on my sore boobs!! Ouch!! I flinched and seemed to strain a muscle or ligament in my abdomen as it really hurt for a minute or so after. I'm guessing this was due to all the stretching ligaments etc?

Still no other symptoms here, just tired and sore boobs. 5+1.

TwerkingNineToFive · 09/12/2013 09:43

Whether not weather, brain fail! - ooh symptom!

PinaColadas · 09/12/2013 10:37

flymo I was a bit like that with me mum's reaction, I think because of my MC she didn't want to get too excited but it really upset me, I don't want to spend the time up until 12 weeks miserable, i'm just taking a day at a time. If your friend is trying it probably hit a nerve I reckon. It's sooooooo annoying when people say 'I knew it!'

I'm getting a bit fed up with my Doc, I can't ring ANC to start the ball rolling and get my booking in appt until my test comes back from the docs, they sent it off 29th November, last time it didn't take this long! Was bit shocked this morning when I rung again and she said 'Negative' my stomach did a jump then she went 'oh no that was from August' I said 'Yes to confirm my ERPC was successful after my Miscarriage. Heartless cow.

By last time i'd rung ANC at 4+4 and my booking in appt was at 7+3 and the soonest scan they could do was at 12+3, at this rate i'm not going to get booked in until i'm about 9 so god knows when my scan will be. I think I will be paying privately at this rate because i'm so on edge.

PinaColadas · 09/12/2013 11:30

I meant to say my mums, not me mum ha. I've been getting a bit jumbled up with words recently, last week I said Corrot and Carrie-ander soup... Blush

miserywaterfall · 09/12/2013 12:23

My brain has been a bit fail since finding out too! I keep forgetting where I have put things or that I have already done them! It's going to be a long 9 months ;)

Really nice to read about other folks experiences, I was feeling very alone the first week but now am slowly starting to get used to the idea!
Took a few days off college so going in today and will just reply with 'stomach bug' when anyone asks what was wrong! It's kinda true ;D

Howly · 09/12/2013 13:20

Well... Despite being so positive about the travel sickness bands last night it seems my body has different ideas this morning!

I was gagging and being sick this morning (tmi) and then was sick at work, I fought through 3 lessons trying not to be sick and it was awful! I've gone from being able to eat and it will subside to now eating and being sick!

I was sent home from work and will claim its a stomach bug but if it goes on longer I will have to tell them!

I'm really miserable and terrified its going to get worse, I don't want to be off work but can't teach feeling like this!

flymo79 · 09/12/2013 13:44

oh howly, that sounds awful. I know how you feel about not wanting to be off work, but you just need to be kind to yourself and not let it stress you. People will understand!
Pina, I'm sorry to hear about ANC, perhaps you should call up and really give em something. Makes me feel better when I do (though I know I'm taking it out on the wrong person!!) I feel a bit like that at work at the moment, the messenger who keeps getting shot...

RoseHoney · 09/12/2013 14:13

Hello! Can I join you all? I got a BFP this morning :) i know what date I conceived so due around 18th August! Grin

PinaColadas · 09/12/2013 15:23

Sorted, I've called the self referral line! Can't be doing with my doctors, they are rubbish.

Howly that’s awful Sad I hope you're feeling better soon, it's all good signs though.

Welcome on-board Rose, congratulations!

sillymeagain · 09/12/2013 15:30

Welcome rose. ..congratulations. is this your first?

flymo79 · 09/12/2013 15:57

that's good to hear pina, let us know how it goes!
welcome rose! (that rhymes!!)

Ruggle · 09/12/2013 16:59

Just peed on another £4.50, but worth it to see that my test line is now as dark as the control line! Yay! 4+5 today, and 17dpo. Doctor's appointment tomorrow, and hoping to be booked into the Royal Free. Anyone else booking in there? I went to UCLH last time but the midwife was half asleep and made loads of mistakes on my form. I ended up admitted to the RF when I had my mmc, and the staff were lovely, so fingers crossed their midwives are also nice....and awake.
