Hello!

So I'm actually due around 27th July but I went two weeks overdue with my first so I'm pretty sure this will be an August baby Smile

Is there anyone else who is newly pregnant and would like to join me?

Sorry that absolutely wasn't meant to worry anyone who's planning to have an early scan, I don't think the scan and the MC were linked, just my personal experience - huge apologies if that comment has worried anyone

2beornot · 05/12/2013 11:48

Piña - if your mum is going to pay for it then do it!! I just think as long as your are doing it just so you can see that it's not your imagination then fine, but for me (totally personally) it's not reassurance.

Have been reading up on high hcg levels. It seems that if you get pg after a mc then this happens. I can't see on my phone who this was, but is that the case?

isitnearlyteatime · 05/12/2013 11:55

I think Im going to try and resist telling others altho it is so hard only because of my previous experiences - if it hadnt been for that I would have been broadcasting it on national tv! - will probably cave in and tell people tho as my willpower is zero!

gosh am a bit not sure what to do re my scan now - have been advised to go for a 7 week scan but now Im not so sure...

isitnearlyteatime · 05/12/2013 11:59

hi 2be - thanks for looking that up - it was me with high hcg levels or what I thought looked like high readings very early on

I didnt get pg after a mc so that wouldn't apply to me - am hoping it is all normal but am now not sure whether to get an early scan or blood tests which will probably panic me - I tell you this pg is turning me into a fruit case - I am one gigantic worry ball!!

DinkyMole · 05/12/2013 13:03

I'm having a scan at 7+3. We're having to postpone our wedding for the baby so I want to announce the pregnancy at Christmas so people don't start booking flights and hotels and so on.

It's reassurance in a way - I'll be able to see if there's currently anything in there and how many there are. I know something could still go wrong but then I'll only have to wait 4-5 weeks for my 12 week scan. It's only £60 as well so not that bad.

I feel sooooo sick Shock I've been eating rich tea biscuits all morning. When I stop the nausea starts again. Clearly not a solution - I'll end up huge!!

NameToBeDecided · 05/12/2013 13:16

Sometimes an early scan can be good. I've got mine in 9 days (and 2 hours - I'm not counting honest! ) because my 2nd pg was ectopic, sadly I lost my 3rd pg despite the early scan but there's no reason to think it will happen again. A heartbeat at an early scan still reduces your chance of mc hugely and most people will be fine.
Sorry to those of you who have lost previously, lets hope for sticky beans all round this time.

Hollyjokes · 05/12/2013 13:30

Dinky same here! All I've had to eat today is rich tea biscuits! I've managed to keep about half of them down so I'm going to attempt a sandwich now, wish me luck!

I'm very limited in what I can eat at the moment. My DH made us a curry the other night but the thought of chicken and vegetables made me feel sick, so I just ate the naan bread dipped in the curry sauce! DH went to tesco to pick me some bits up last night and I gave him a list of carb heavy snacks for me to try. I was fuming when he brought home 'fries 2 go' instead of micro chips! He thinks I'm disgusting hehe! I also have a pot of microwave mash which I'm going to pour some beans over. I swear I don't usually eat this badly!!

Hungry
The OPKs can pick up HCG. That's what happened to me. A few days before I tested positive on the HPT, I was getting stronger and stronger lines on the OPKs. They'd just arrived in the post and because I'd come off the pill, I'd started testing. I thought I was ovulating until I got my BFP a few days later - and out of curiosity I also tested with the OPKs and I was getting positives with them as well.

That probably just confuses you even more! If it's any consolation, I don't really know my dates either! My last LMP was months and months ago so if they go by that then I'd have the gestation period of an elephant.

HungryHorace · 05/12/2013 14:31

Sorry for everyone who's had losses. I really feel for you. I'm scared / worried but you must all find it more scary / worrying.

Dinky, I was like that but with crisps from about the 6th week forwards last time. I hope it doesn't happen again, but if it does I'll just have to cope!

My innards are so gassy. All I can hear and feel is wind popping around inside me. Classy. I'm on the lactulose already too. Anything to stave off constipation.

Poor DD is teething today and she's been crying almost all morning. She's so tired and her eyes are sore. :-( Thankfully she's asleep on me now. Fingers crossed it lasts.

DinkyMole · 05/12/2013 14:49

Anyone else really dizzy? I have low blood pressure at the best of times but it's always lower when pregnant. I feel really light headed. Work is really stressful. I was off yesterday and they're paying me but I know they won't if I'm off again tomorrow. Have just come to sit on the sofas in the rest area and could just fall asleep.

Shakshuka · 05/12/2013 14:51

That was my first sign dinky and why I did a pregnancy test to being with (given that I thought I was ovulating!) - I'd had the same with my last pregnancy. It's better now but I still feel light headed on and off.

flymo79 · 05/12/2013 14:54

yep, me too. pretty dizzy at the mo and also quite stressed at work. keep telling myself it won't do the bean any harm but it's a bit scary.

isitnearlyteatime · 05/12/2013 14:55

hi dinky - yes I was dizzy last week but not this week

am feeling very tired but think that's more to do with not sleeping at night - last night got 2 hours as pg is strangely giving me insomnia so am literally falling asleep standing up today
have started to feel ever so slightly nauseous but think maybe more that's to do with me willing to feeling a bit sick just to get some reassurance in the absence of any other symptoms
eating has indeed stopped slight nausea but Im eating totally the wrong things like biscuits - never want to eat the good stuff!

am so tired now and certainly my motivation to do ANYTHING has completely gone and sleep is just the only thing I want to do!

DinkyMole · 05/12/2013 14:56

Yeah I feel guilty that it might affect the baby but equally it took 3-4 weeks to pass last time and I can't take that amount of time off work. Might speak to a manager and ask for extra rest breaks perhaps.

isitnearlyteatime · 05/12/2013 14:58

was my first sign too Shakshuka - thought I would topple over with dizziness before I even thought I might be

I know what you mean flymo and I feel exactly the same - very hard to not get stressed with this - some things do take my mind of it but not many things!

Hollyjokes · 05/12/2013 15:06

Dizziness here too! Not sure if it's the tiredness bringing it on or not?

OP posts:
HungryHorace · 05/12/2013 15:09

Definite dizziness here too. Again, not sure if it's related to tiredness.

I'm a really moody cow too. Anybody else like to join me in admitting to having the rage?!

HungryHorace · 05/12/2013 15:14

Shakshura, I missed your message there as my phone hadn't refreshed.

Do you think the Clearblue smiley OPKs would pick it up the same? I did also use cheapy ones and the line got lighter the day after the positive smiley. It's all a bit confusing, isn't it?

Let's hope you don't have the gestation period of an elephant. How are the midwives dating your pregnancy if not from LMP?

Ruggle · 05/12/2013 16:07

I'm only 4+1 today, but constant urge to pee..just like a uti...Is this normal to have so early, or might I actually have a uti? Other symptoms are occasional cramps, shooting pains and tender boobs...
I don't have stinging or burning like a typical uti...so hoping it's just a normal part of early preg. I didn't have this with the two I lost.

isitnearlyteatime · 05/12/2013 16:25

yes hungry definitely me too - i have the pg RAGE!!
am very moody and snappy with the DH and have no patience with very much - oh dear hope the rage symptom doesn't hang around for too long!

I find those opks very confusing indeed so am not sure about that one hungry - Im finding the whole thing very confusing indeed!

thinking the constant peeing is normal ruggle - it says on the symptom list - I haven't got it but then Im hoping that all of us won't have every single symptom but just a few of them - well thats the way Im looking at it!

Allypallyjelly · 05/12/2013 17:18

Is it just me or is Anyone also throwing up a lot? I'm having twice a day and been hard to keep food and liquid down. When is the time to see the gp? Or is that normal ?

Allypallyjelly · 05/12/2013 17:20

isitnearly same here I had in my prev preg (unfortunately ended in mc) and this one with insomnia. Getting up at 3am was a norm until about 7 weeks...

Howly · 05/12/2013 17:30

I feel sea sick I'm that dizzy! Nausea is horrible too, mornings til about 10am then kicks back in around 4pm, I have to eat constantly, trying to be balanced but I'm wanting cheese and pickle sandwiches and just cheese and salami!

I got my dating scan date today - 23rd of December - merry christmas! Hope all is well !

NameToBeDecided · 05/12/2013 17:31

Not so much the rage but the tears. I'm listening to the news and a number of areas round here have weather warnings forfloods and loads of places have been evacuated. We're safe and I don't personally know anyone affected but they have just interviewed someone who has to leave their home and I'm a wreck for them I can't stop crying Sad

funnyfish2 · 05/12/2013 17:48

It's been a terrible day. My 3 year old DD decided to wake up multiple times in the night and we finally gave up trying to put her back into bed. Woke up exhausted and in the end succumbed to the cold/cough that I had been holding at bay all week. Then discovered that the very light spotting from last night has turned into a much more noticeable brownish discharge with a bit of pink thrown in. Period-like pains too, which only adds to the anxiety. We had a MC in March and we are so hoping not to go through that terrible experience again. I called the pregnancy support clinic and they were reassuring but also could not promise it would be all OK, which is I guess the truth of the matter. We'll see how the next day or two goes.
