Hello!

So I'm actually due around 27th July but I went two weeks overdue with my first so I'm pretty sure this will be an August baby Smile

Is there anyone else who is newly pregnant and would like to join me?

Look at this
www.clearblueeasy.com/healthcare/clearblue-advanced-pregnancy-test-with-weeks-estimator.php

If you're in the upper band of normal (ie within the blue line), you'd hit the 3+ category at less than 5 weeks. So if you ovulated a couple of days earlier and have higher (but normal) HCG levels plus natural fluctuations in urine concentration, you could easily be in the 3+ category with absolutely nothing to worry about.

I'd mention it to the dr/midwife so they can maybe do blood tests to accurately measure the HCG to put your mind at ease.

MrsNutella · 04/12/2013 20:51

Sorry Talulah what I meant but didn't word very well is that I think all babies are scary and that it's perfectly normal to feel that way about it. Make sure you and DH enjoy your time together - honestly make the most of it!
I had lunch out today and DS slept right through it. It was bliss! He was absolutely cream crackered after a playgroup thing and slept in the buggy on the way home so I thought I would hence it and treat myself to lunch out instead of continuing to push him in the cold and rain... Sorry, I bet I'm really not helping am I?!

DinkyFrinkbuster · 04/12/2013 21:18

I'm in a wtf have we done phase at the moment, too. Our family is perfect as a threesome. Keep telling myself that it's just the hormones talking and that this is the best present we could give our little boy.

Hello to all the newcomers and belated thanks for all my birthday wishes. 37 ain't that bad Grin

NameToBeDecided · 04/12/2013 21:28

Wtf wobbles are perfectly normal then, that's good cos I'm a complete weeble at the moment, even though we want it so much. 3rd pg in a year so scared of so many things but unbelievably excited at the same time. Hormones in the mix make it ten times worse! Grin

SliceOfLime · 04/12/2013 21:39

Hello can I join in? I can't believe there are so many people on this thread already! I had a positive test last week so around 5 weeks now and EDD is 8 August. Already have a 2yo DD. Feeling sick, tired, lightheaded, thirsty, etc all at various times of the day which makes chasing after a deranged very active toddler something of a challenge... Like a few of you ladies I have had MCs before so just feeling very tentative about it all at the moment. Just crossing my fingers that everything is ok.

HungryHorace · 04/12/2013 21:43

Holly, I go back in March. For 6 weeks as I'll then take all my annual leave and start mat leave at 29 weeks as then I'll only have to sort temporary child care.

I've told HR. They haven't responded to me. Not even to say congratulations. Oops!

Dinky, I'm just 37 too. When was your birthday? Happy belated birthday! :-)

And I agree. No googling re pregnancy. It's not good!

HungryHorace · 04/12/2013 21:45

Oh, and YY to WTF are we doing! We will have a 13 month age gap. We are crazy!

DinkyFrinkbuster · 04/12/2013 22:07

HH I was 37 on Friday!

Parents are constantly asking what I want for Christmas and do not seem receptive to my reply of 'Money!'...they don't know I'm pregnant and won't until my scan on 23rd, so it's rather awkward. All I want is money for maternity clothes. Last time I looked very questionable and this time WILL be different!

HungryHorace · 04/12/2013 22:21

It's a good age, Dinky :-)

Can you ask for vouchers for a shop you're likely to buy stuff from, such as Next? Would they go for that more?

DinkyFrinkbuster · 04/12/2013 22:54

Something like that will work. Highly doubt I'll manage to hide it until we plan to tell them on Boxing Day, but big winter clothes might help me get away with it...if my huge boobs don't give the game away first!

HungryHorace · 04/12/2013 23:11

My boobs are bigger too. They aren't sore, but are definitely increasing in size. I'm not even late for AF yet, so god knows how big they'll get!

I wore DH's jumpers to hide my bump. I'm certain I'll increase in size very quickly again. Something to look forward to!

Definite wtf moments here too! We're going to have a 17 month gap and I keep telling myself that although it's going to be hard, it will also be so lovely and that a small gap was what we wanted!

DF I'm exactly the same - I would really like to look nicer through this pregnancy than I did last time. It was difficult because my bump was HUGE so in those final weeks I had about three tops that I fitted into and had to rotate them. I will choose my clothes more wisely this time I swear!

isitnearlyteatime · 04/12/2013 23:58

hello all
yes you're so right about googling being a VERY VERY bad idea!
so far Ive only come up with scare stories and doom and gloom scenarios on mr google whereas the lovely MN ladies are so much more helpful, sympathetic and lovely and as we're all going through it together so can hopefully reassure each other

I'll pick MN anyday :)

Im not having a wtf moment but an omg moment can I make it through to tomorrow and still have a bfp and just trying to get through each day. having had previous mcs I am super paranoid and worried :( Ive found to try and not think about it is helping and to try and occupy myself in other ways is helping marginally!!
The DH is panicking about my lack of symptoms - oh dear he was so calm before all this so think my panicked state has rubbed off on him - ooppps :(

re the digi thing thanks so much for your replies on this - I was getting myself in a right pickle as that pregnant 3+ makes no sense when I wasn't even 4 weeks! Thanks so much Shakshuka for sending the link - I will definitely look at this
GP WON'T unfortunately do a blood test so will have to find somewhere else that does this and go and get it tested

Thanks for your reply on this too dinky - did you say you got the same scenario as me?? - how many weeks are you now and when did you test? I tested before my 4 weeks so was so startled to see the 3+. It would be so reassuring if you got the same reading as me and would put my mind at rest

Shakshuka · 05/12/2013 00:16

But isit if I udnerstand correctly, a lot of the early pregnancy symptoms, especially nausea, are due to high levels of HCG but you know that you're producing more than enough HCG!! Maybe you're just lucky :)

HungryHorace · 05/12/2013 04:19

I'm having the opposite problem. I should be 4 weeks today but just got another 1-2 on a digi so now I'm worried my hcg levels aren't rising enough. :-/

I feel like an idiot as I wasn't meant to use another until Sunday and now I'm upset that I didn't see 2-3.

I knew my wee was quite dilute and still went ahead and did it, so it's my own fault, isn't it? :-(

talulahbelle · 05/12/2013 06:36

horace I got 1-2 weeks on my digi at 4 weeks exactly, and an early scan showed me one healthy embryo. Don't panic, leave it a few days and test again.

Today I woke up and feel ever so slightly nauseous. I've had waves in the day when I've been hungry/over full, but this is the first time it's been when I wake up. Possibly the start if morning sickness...

PinaColadas · 05/12/2013 07:15

Morning ladies hope you're all ok.
Feeling very vom this morning, sat getting ready for work nibbling a ginger biscuit and sipping lucozade.
I'm not wobbling yet, think I probably will when I have a scan and see something other than an empty sac on screen, I still don't actually believe there's anything in there, so when I do I'll probably be the weeble that fell down!

HungryHorace · 05/12/2013 07:20

Thank you, Tallulah, that's reassuring. :-)

I feel sick too. Could be tiredness from DD though. And this is just the start of it!

The weather sounds appalling today. I may stay indoors and play with DD.

mszeenwithabean · 05/12/2013 07:24

Morning all,

Thank you for all the welcome messages... Smile and hello the new joiners since me.. Smile

isit I agree that MN is definitely the place to go for advice much less scare mongering... Wink

Happy belated birthday dinky ... I loved your looking 'questionable' during your last pregnancy. I've looked horrid questionable through my last two pregnancys and would rather not do the same this time round especially as I'm planning to work up till D day.. Grin

So far I think that I am 4+4 and I've had relatively few pg symptoms (bit worried) darker fuller looking boobs, slight dizziness and slight waves of nausea and pains that come and go in my pelvis... I know I'm being extra paranoid but I do hope that everything is good in there and we have a sticky bean.

oh and yesterday I pee'd myself a little when I sneezed Blush counting that as a pregnancy symptom too. Blush Grin

by the way am I the only one who has been going round telling people? lol.... work as an assistant in a special needs school and our children in our class are seniors with challenging behaviours so had to tell the teacher and ta's in there... but I have not been able to keep it to myself... short of an announcement on fb I've told loads of ppl and then said "not telling many ppl so keep it hush hush" nearly everyone knows lol... is it just me? Grin

DinkyMole · 05/12/2013 07:33

Full on nausea this morning. Having to lie still and breathe deeply. Yuck.

My CB digi was negative at 3+4, 1-2 at 3+6 and 3+ at 4+4. It says it's 92% accurate -/+ 5 days, so not that accurate at all. It's really not worth worrying about as it's "normal" to vary between about 200-3000miu/ml at that stage.

Right, better drag myself in the shower and make myself look half presentable for work Hmm

funkymonk · 05/12/2013 07:47

Morning all. Was also about to say clearblue 92% accurate +/- 5 days but dinky beat me to it! I got stressed about them too. It seems a lot if women do.

I'm still spotting brown stuff and yesterday there were a few teeny teeny bits in it. No idea what's going on. Hoping the bits were from day befores dildocam.

2beornot · 05/12/2013 07:54

Morning ladies.

I'm not having a wtf moment, more of an OMG moment. I've been ttc since jan and got my BFP the day I went for job interview. I've since been offered (and accepted) the job. So will have a very awkward conversation with my new boss after 12 wk scan but before even starting! Absolutely rubbish timing. DH and I had agreed if we for Bfn and job offer we would put ttc on hold for a bit!!!

HungryHorace · 05/12/2013 07:54

Funky, I hope you get some idea as to what's happening soon. When is your next scan? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

And thank you both for giving me the virtual slap I needed. :-) I'm such a bloody worrier. But those stats all combined give me hope.

If anyone is in the market for digis they're selling for about £8.50 for a twin pack on Amazon. I should probably steer clear apart from the two on the way !

HungryHorace · 05/12/2013 07:56

That's the law of sod, 2be!

I hope your new boss takes it well. How big is the company?
