Hello!

So I'm actually due around 27th July but I went two weeks overdue with my first so I'm pretty sure this will be an August baby Smile

Is there anyone else who is newly pregnant and would like to join me?

I think my bloating is down to constipation and the alarming amount of carbs I'm eating as nothing else appeals at all! I'm having bread, pasta, chips and potatoes and not a lot else!

Oh carbs! Chips and jacket potato with a side order of garlic bread would be a perfect dinner! !

I think I'm going to have a urine infection at Christmas and the antibiotics means I can't drink. I am prone to them so it's believable for me. Just hope I'm not jinxing myself.

Allypallyjelly · 04/12/2013 14:13

name Im used to having it but have found that D Mannose helps. You should try them as a preventative measure. Even my GP agrees to have that natural sweet is better than antibiotics. So if I were you I'd look into that!!!
Oh holly I hope you feel better soon. Same here just loving all the carbs and maybe bone broth but nth else!

flymo79 · 04/12/2013 15:18

yessss, on the sore boobs! mine have been agony for over two weeks! it is oddly reassuring though... I had to just make an excuse for my work christmas do - that I've double-booked and have to drive to the other place. People are all cross about it but I'll ride it out. it's the hiding it from other close friends that's hard - spent the weekend slyly nudging my glass of wine over to the OH, he got sozzled!!
Hi honkyponk! congratulations!!!!

NameToBeDecided · 04/12/2013 15:20

Allypally do you take it as a preventative or when you get it? Probably a stupid question as we're on an antenatal thread but is it safe in pregnancy?
I just hope that by saying I'm going to pretend to have one to cover up not drinkning I don't go and actually get one!! That would be too cruel Grin

NameToBeDecided · 04/12/2013 15:21

drinkning drinking, I haven't been I promise not a drop for months!!

NameToBeDecided · 04/12/2013 15:21

oh bugger it drinkning drinking i give up!!!

NameToBeDecided · 04/12/2013 15:23

now the work drinking looks really weird Grin does anyone else get that when you look at the same word too many times?

TwerkingNineToFive · 04/12/2013 16:56

Antibiotics is a good idea for covering up the not drinking. I hadn't thought of that.
The other thing is I gave a friend who's been trying for ages and so far hasn't had her BFP so I'm a bit worried that the news will be bitter sweet for her. I think if I do say something I'll change the subject soon after and try not to dwell on it too much.

isitnearlyteatime · 04/12/2013 17:25

hi everyone
just wondered if I could join this thread

I got my bfp last week which Im v excited about :)

Im very confused about my dates though and also had a quick question about testing if I could ask you

My LMP was on 30 October and when I tested with a clearblue digital test I tested on just 30th November so exactly one month after my LMP and very quickly it came up with pregnant 3+ however that showed that I was 5 weeks which can't be the case - surely I would only be 4 weeks??

Am now really stressing and worrying about this as it would suggest a very high hcg reading and after googling this I scared myself with some of the things that came up with a high reading :(

any reassurance or advice on this would be gratefully received

congrats to all of you on your bfps :)

HungryHorace · 04/12/2013 18:16

Hi to the newbies!

Isit...twins?! Though the digis aren't 100% accurate so don't worry too much.

I'm only 4 weeks' pregnant and I've got mild morning sickness already. It is not good! I had bearable sickness last time so I'm hoping it's no worse. Though at least I'm still on maternity leave, so don't have to struggle with work at the same time!

I hope I get my booking in appt soon so I can see if they're basing my dates on my LMP or my digi date of 2-3 weeks.

It's crap that GPs won't prescribe in pregnancy. I had the same with my surgery refusing to prescribe Piriton which was initially prescribed by the hospital ante natal doctors. Madness.

travispickles · 04/12/2013 18:33

Hi all. Can I join? Just got a BFP today, have a DD of nearly 3. Quite nauseous already!

TwerkingNineToFive · 04/12/2013 19:09

Congratulations Travis, I hope your not feeling too bad. Peppermint or ginger tea helped me lots in my last pregnancy.

Howly · 04/12/2013 19:33

Registered with the midwife today, well filled in a form at the doctors but I was quite surprised that I don't actually see a midwife until 16-17 weeks! I have to ring to book my dating scan tomorrow, hoping to get in before Xmas when I will be 9-10 weeks!

How does it work with nhs in other areas ?

Hollyjokes · 04/12/2013 19:36

Hello and welcome to Travis and isitnearly - do you have your due dates and I'll add you to the list? Smile

Hungry I'm still on mat leave at the moment too, thankfully as I'd no doubt be off sick otherwise. When are you due back? I think I'll be returning end of Jan so I'm hoping my sickness will have improved before then. I'm dreading telling my boss, are you?!

Isit - I thought maybe twins too! Although it sounds like the test has only put you slightly further ahead than your dates and they're not 100% accurate so try not to worry too much about what it could mean. Maybe you just ovulated a bit earlier that cycle than you thought?

Hollyjokes · 04/12/2013 19:40

Exactly the same here Howly, booking in around 8wks, scan at 12wks, midwife at 16wks, scan at 20wks then I think the next midwife appointment isn't until about 24wks or so? Could be wrong about that last one though. It's not until closer to the end that you see the mw regularly, assuming you're low risk with no concerns of any kind. You do feel pretty much like you're left to get on with it a bit in the early days!

Hello, just popping in to sort of join... I will probably be a very slack follower. I hope you don't mind :o

Although I'm due 30/7 DS was 5 days late and I'm sure this one will be an August baby :)

DS is just 11 months so we will have a 19 month gap. - yikes!

isitnearlyteatime · 04/12/2013 19:59

thanks so much hungry and holly for your replies

its reassuring to hear that the clearblue digis aren't that accurate
I would love twins :) its just the other scary stuff I read about which petrified me and is really not good at all

due date is 7 August apparently although haven't seen anyone medical whatsoever so its just on going on the nhs due date calculator!

Im not having any symptoms whatsoever either apart from some cramping which is mild to moderate but no sickness sore boobs or anything else so am a bit bricking it as I have no symptoms and what looks like a scary high hcg reading from a digi test - helllp!!

are there any others who are about the same as me (just 5 weeks today) but no symptoms only cramping? Surely that's not normal to have just cramping? Im really panicking now :(

MrsNutella · 04/12/2013 20:10

isit other than being tired (but then chasing around after DS all day could be the reason) I have no pregnancy symptoms. Didn't with DS either Hmm it is a bit weird at first but once they start kicking you hard you will miss these days Wink. When are you going to see a GP?

isitnearlyteatime · 04/12/2013 20:20

thanks mrsnutella - great name by the way :)
that's reassuring to hear you've had no symptoms
I was expecting the full on nausea sore boobs etc and have had previous mcs so am really anxious about my lack of symptoms but its reassuring to hear from others who've had no pg symptoms

I have a scan booked in a few weeks time so will go and see the drs then
Am just concernced as I seem to have got a very high digi reading which doesn't seem accurate for my dates at all
pregnant 3+ when I was barely 4 weeks can't be right??? :(

googling comes up with a whole array of scary things that makes you more petrified than anything - sometimes google is the enemy I think!

talulahbelle · 04/12/2013 20:21

Does anyone else have a WTF have I done wobble? I have been with DH a good number of years, we are financially stable, have a house, but I still can't quite believe we are going to be parents - even though this is an IVF baby.

travispickles · 04/12/2013 20:34

Perfectly normal. My whole pregnancy was one big wobble last time. This time am more relaxed. You only get it when they are born!!

Shakshuka · 04/12/2013 20:38

I'm wobbling like that talulah. It's number 3 but numbers 1 and 2 are 10 and 7 (next week) so I feel like I'm diving into the craziness of pregnancy and babies and toddlers all over again (plus being that much older which makes it all riskier and harder). i ask myself a few times a day what the hell am I doing????????

DinkyMole · 04/12/2013 20:43

Yep - my two are 9 and 7, eldest just diagnosed with autism, two stepsons aged 4 and 3 that I don't yet have contact with... This absolutely what I want but still very scary!

Tea time - I had that too, HCG levels can vary massively and the conception date indicator is really not reliable...

MrsNutella · 04/12/2013 20:46

talulah DS happened sooner than we expected and so has this one it is making me a bit Confused but I'm trying to move on past the Shock feeling onto "Ooohhh squishy baby" Grin - with lots of emoticons to help.

isit never google anything pregnancy/baby etc related! (Unless it's food to avoid because you can't remember every detail even though it's different in every bloody country and I really want sushi) Treat MN as your google. Dr google will only give you nightmares! But you're in good hands here Smile
