I am jealous of your heart beat recording HOTB! SB comes along but pretends to be all casual, while I weep...

I sometimes think I feel stuff, but suspect it's wind, as I have an anterior placenta. 18 weeks tomorrow, so it might happen sometime in the next month or so...

Noks, get laying, we need space for euro Wink

evilgiraffe · 03/01/2014 17:38

Yep, Frank, next scan is 30th Jan, the day before we swan off to York for the weekend (in lieu of our anniversary weekend away, which got postponed due to IVF being imminent). So fingers crossed the scan goes well or we'll be all wobbly Confused

MyNameIsWinkly · 03/01/2014 18:09

Chances of it going well are sky high draf, I won't say don't worry because that would be a stupid thing to say, but try to not worry very much. York is meant to be lovely, where are you staying? My next scan is 12/2, and we're away the week before that, staying in a naice hotel near Darlington then visiting HWCA's uni friends.

evilgiraffe · 03/01/2014 18:18

I can't even remember where we're staying Blush HOTB and his parents sorted all the details as my Christmas present, so I just have to get on a train and do as I'm told :)

Oooh, we stayed at the Hotel Du Vin in York when we went up to watch Frankel run in August 2012. It was tres nice.

frank how does your other half, whose nickname I have completely forgotten, feel about competing with Frankel for your affections? Grin

I have seriously lost an important part of my brain. Did I already share the sugar story this week?

FrankelInFoal · 03/01/2014 21:13

HWHNN knows his place Wink

Tell the sugar story...

OP posts:
Nokkie73 · 03/01/2014 21:15

Who mentioned sugar ?

Nokkie73 · 03/01/2014 21:17

Hang on a cotton pickin' minute. drizz I going to be thrown off the Fred when I lay my baybee ? Sad

Nokkie73 · 03/01/2014 21:20

draf congrats on the 16 week appointment going well. You'll start to feel, flutterings soon and then have a Tasmanian wriggler in your tumtum just like franks

MyNameIsWinkly · 03/01/2014 21:20

The sugar story isn't that interesting, it just illustrates my current brainlessness.

When we were at MIL's the other day, she offered me a cup of tea, and asked if I take sugar. I said no, thinking to myself "she must know how I take my tea by now surely?" She came back, handed me a mug saying "tea no sugar". I said thanks and took a big gulp, then wondered why it didn't taste nice. Turns out it was because I have taken sugar in my tea for the last 30 years. I am a pillock.

norks I reckon we'd have a job throwing you out if you didn't want to go! This fred is like my new maternity skinnies - plenty of room for expansion :)

Nokkie73 · 03/01/2014 22:12

twonks Is that cos of my a. Weight b. Big bum c. Yobbish tendencies d. Surname, or e. A mixture of all four ? Wink

stages sit-in. Realises that sitting on the floor is folly, given old lady hips and mahoosive belly

Dafty old Twonks. Here, have a sugar lump excuses herself for lame old dad joke

evilgiraffe · 03/01/2014 23:01

Oh, winks, that is hilarious Grin HOTB also giggling (in an affectionate way!) :)

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 04/01/2014 07:51

Silly norks, of course you don't need to go, just the nipper, into the big wide world!

Winks, I luff your sugar story too!

My brain is replaced w snot, tis not right...

FrankelInFoal · 04/01/2014 09:17

Aww, poor forgetful Winks Grin I keep forgetting random stuff too, t'other day I was trying to log on to my colleagues computer at work and it kept rejecting the password. After about 6 attempts I realised I was entering her old password from 6 months ago, I couldn't for the life of me remember her up to date one, despite using it several times a week for the past 6 months Hmm

We're not going to shove you out into the big bad world Noks, plenty of CRESH still hang around here and they are very welcome - plus great sources of advice.

If anyone us planning on shopping at Kiddicare in the next little while PM me as I've been given a 20% off code for their online shopping. Could make a big difference if anyone plans to buy big items from there. Sadly I wasn't given it until after I'd been shopping there Sad. I don't think it's got a use by date and several other people I know have used it already so it's not got limited usage.

OP posts:
MyNameIsWinkly · 04/01/2014 19:14

Glad to see its not just me frank! I'll have that code if it doesn't run out soon, Kiddicare do the Vista and 20% off that and a car seat is a lot.

I'm tired. I expected to have broken nights when I was massive and after the baybee came, but I couldn't tell you the last time I had a proper night's sleep. I can't get comfy in bed, its as if someone has replaced my lovely mattress with an ex-demo 20 year old cheapie, and I'm sick of peeing. I thought the peeing should be easing off now, not getting worse? The tiredness is making me weepy and anxious :(

FrankelInFoal · 04/01/2014 20:10

I'll PM you Winks. I used the code myself today and got £54 off a pricey order, plus Quidco are doing enhanced cash-back (12.5% if you spend over £300, or 10% if you spend £100-£299) until Monday.

HWHNN said I've been tossing and turning at night recently. I've not noticed it during the night but have definitely been feeling tired in the mornings.

OP posts:
evilgiraffe · 04/01/2014 22:29

Aww, winks :( I'm not too bad tiredness-wise, but am still confuddled at waking up needing to pee - I am a lifelong good sleeper so broken nights are very strange.

I am feeling quite defensive and vulnerable, though - people keep being congratulatory or questioning or "you've got all this to come", or talking about no sleep, or talking about birth plans. It's all well-meaning, but all of it makes me want to run away and hide. It feels weirdly invasive, especially given that the idea of me being pregnant still feels utterly laughable.

FriendofDorothy · 04/01/2014 22:32

Winks I slept better after The Little Mister was born. I was just so much more comfortable!

ALittleFaith · 05/01/2014 09:39

I remember rolling on to my right hand side after Faithlet was born and thinking what bliss it was! I highly recommend getting a maternity pillow. I couldn't sleep without mine.

Someone asked about sleep training, was it Noks? We did controlled crying but that's definitely not for under 6 months and not for the faint hearted. I would recommend reading The No Cry Sleep Solution and The No Cry Nap Solution for gentle ways to improve sleep/prevent bad habits.

GingerScouse · 05/01/2014 10:07

I seem to have the inability to pee in the middle of the night if I wake up Sad. If my bladder is really full I just CAN'T release it Sad

CatsCantFlyFast · 05/01/2014 18:14

Hey PESH, Frankel gave me a nudge to pop in yesterday... I've been lurking since my bfp but as I never was more than a part time BESH I never made it all the way to these parts. Am nearly 30 weeks now, (edd 21 Mar) and in all honesty have discovered pregnancy is not my thing Grin I regularly get told how easy/nice/enjoyable every other woman in the world found it though Wink Am struggling with gradually worsening SPD and issues with my breathing, as I'm normally never 'ill' I'm finding it tough to not be able to carry on as normal. Anyway not long now, looking forward to her making an appearance and being able to sleep on my stomach again! I think I'm due just after a couple of you... Don't think I will be winning the first lay sweepstake but will give it a bloody good shot Wink

JethroTull · 05/01/2014 19:29

Yes Faith!! The comfort of sleeping post baby is amazing. Even if it's just for a few hours each night Grin
