Ooh, Nessie, fingers crossed you end up somewhere nice!

I treated myself to a maternity pillow today, I'm hoping it'll help my swollen knee. Also love the mum & me bump products, the refresh spray is nice and the pregnancy shampoo is brilliant for my hair.

ohcluttergotme · 17/11/2013 06:57

That's great clever that your little boy seems to be taking the news well. We have been trying to broach the subject with our little boy (4) but he is adamant we doesn't want a baby in the house. We're trying to sell it as he would be special big brother. We asked him what names would he like for little brother or sister and he said 'naughty boy' and 'naughty girl' !

ohcluttergotme · 17/11/2013 07:09

Sounds like really positive talk Magpie, hope this helps both of you. Think it is hard for men to work out how their feeling and all attention is focused on mum.
Definitely feeling less nauseous here but then that makes you worry! Scan for me 2 weeks on Thursday on 5th December, can't wait to know everything is all right.
I really don't think I could hide the fact I'm pregnant, I have such an obvious bump.

MTMD · 17/11/2013 08:12

Good morning!

I'm worried my headaches are going back to pre pregnancy pattern.. which was most days and definitely all weekends. Last month was an improvement but this weekend's horrid...and I don't want to take drugs :( I hope this is just a blip and a sign of 7 months to come...

Need to sort out the mice problem today. Got steel wool, expanding foam and traps!! We're serving eviction notice!! :)

MTMD · 17/11/2013 08:13

I meant NOT a sign, oops

Emmazers · 17/11/2013 10:29

Morning Smile

Glad to hear people are starting to feel a bit better. We're nearly out of the woods!

Nessie hope you don't end up anywhere too dire.

MTMD My sickness has really been coming and going but the trend is increasingly feeling ok, so I reckon it's just a blip. Hang in there!

Just woke up after 12+ hours sleep! I have been feeling a lot better the last couple of days but then yesterday I worked at an event for only a few hours and the cycle home almost killed me. I felt dreadful. I just can't imagine doing that all the time.

DD (almost 3) has been so adorable. She's been looking after me when I feel rough, bringing me oranges and glasses of water. She keeps telling everyone that she's going to be the big sister, so it's a good job I'm not keeping it a secret. Her new favourite thing is to lift up my top, kiss my tummy and say "I love you baby". So freaking cute! Envy

Booking in appointment with the indie midwife on Monday at my place. So excited Smile

ohcluttergotme · 17/11/2013 10:32

Aw Emmazers that is so sweet of your dd, sounds like she's going to make a lovely big sister Smile.
12 hours sleep sounds bliss, yep hope we are all coming through horrible sickness and nausea and our placentas are starting to take over.
My dh has took my ds out for the day and dd had a sleepover last night so getting some peace and quiet which I bliss!

superlambanana · 17/11/2013 10:56

Emmazers that's lovely! Bless her Smile

I think I'm a couple of weeks behind most people so got a bit longer to feel rubbish Sad 8 weeks today. Getting fed up and just want to tell everyone now, but because it's my first time I'm terrified as I don't know how to tell if something is going wrong. I figured that if there's no bleeding it must be okay but since then I read of people who've not had bleeding and then found out at scan that it's not viable or whatever, so now I'm stressing out.

Also so fed up of not enjoying my food - I can't remember the last time I really enjoyed eating something. Very grumpy today!!

GillyBillyWilly · 17/11/2013 11:16

OMG!

Just found out my brother and his wife are expecting their second child (first one is a year old) and the baby is due on 7th June!!!!!!! GrinGrinGrinGrin

They facetimed us and me and my husband were so happy but just laughing as well (as our due date as far as I know is 9th June and our scan is on Wednesday!!!)

They said "have you got something to tell us too?!??" And they were smiling....Couldn't resist and told them we have our scan on Wednesday!

They are soooo happy for us and we are so happy for them! Exciting!!!!

God I can't wait til Wednesday now and hoping and praying everything is ok!!!!! Eeeeek!!!! SmileSmile

Gilly that's so exciting! Grin

Penguin13 · 17/11/2013 11:38

Ah,that's great news Gilly and what an amazing coincidence.

GillyBillyWilly · 17/11/2013 11:49

Haha so funny! More excited now as I have a real life pregnancy buddy too (not just all you lovely mumsnetters!) Grin

However I'm really going to struggle between now and Wednesday... I want my scan now!!!!!

Emmazers · 17/11/2013 11:54

That's awesome Gilly! So nice to have someone to share it with. My cousin, who I'm very close to, is about 10 days more preg than me, so I understand your joy Smile

MinaLeeds · 17/11/2013 11:58

Gilly how exciting! My bil & his wife are pregnant too & expecting their baby in March. Then one of my oldest & closest friends is also pregnant and her baby is due in May. Quite excited about all the impending babydom. :)

Superlambanana I know what you mean about being scared first timers. My bil & his wife didn't tell anyone until the scan was over and family was told the day before they announced it on FB. I understand why people do it, but surely if something does go wrong the last thing you'd want is to have absolutely zero support network around you. At least that's how we felt. DH and I told immediate family (sister, brothers & parents) as soon as we found out at about 4 weeks. It's been wonderful to be able to phone my mums when I've been panicking about having horrible tummy cramps or to get ideas on what I could eat or anything else I was worried about. They have not just their experience, but the experience of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends etc to draw on to help reassure us. I'm glad I've found my way onto here now so have more people who are going through just what I'm going through at the same time which is awesome. But I'm also glad I've got my family around me through good or bad.

I would try not to worry too much about baby. Being stressed out and pregnant is not good for baby. And if the unthinkable does happen, then deal with it when the time comes but don't borrow trouble. Think positive thoughts!

littlepickly · 17/11/2013 12:11

Awesome news Gilly.

My bro & sil are expecting their second a week before us and I have 2 close friends one due in May and one due in July!! It's going to be a very exciting summer! Smile

GillyBillyWilly · 17/11/2013 17:07

Babies everywhere!!!!!! Grin

So glad this week is almost over! Every second getting closer to my scan! CMMMOOOONN!!! Grin

wispaxmas · 17/11/2013 18:07

Awesome, Gilly. My sister is due in Feb, and I was so excited to tell her I was pg when I found out. It would be nice to have someone closer in dates, though. TWO days! Grin

bellygazing · 17/11/2013 18:18

Hi all, hope everyone's having a happy Sunday. Someone said they were a worried first-timer - for me I'm much more anxious second time round because with DD I never really thought anything could go wrong. Having had a MC earlier this year, I am much more aware of risks - I've sadly lost that naivete. For that reason I've been reluctant to tell anyone. So far the grand total is DH, my Dr, a friend I went away for the weekend with, then today, bizarrely, the fitting woman in Bravissimo and a couple of close friends as I was visiting their gorgeous three-day-old new born and couldn't resist:) no early scan . So roll on 7 December when I'll actually believe it's real...

hackneybird · 17/11/2013 22:20

I've had a couple of mcs and the first time, learned the hard way what it's like having to 'untell' people. A well meaning friend of mine told her sister (who works as a nutritionist) who emailed me lots of tips for healthy eating in pregnancy. It was upsetting having to tell her the pregnancy had failed. Mind you, I think it depends on your family. When I told my mother I had miscarried, MY MOTHER, she said 'well how did you manage that then'. I was so hurt.

So now I keep quiet! It would be nice to have family I could really on, but with a mum like mine, no chance.

dramajustfollowsme · 17/11/2013 22:35

Midwife appointment tomorrow. I don't have any of the forms to start filling in, I've always done as much as possible before going in with previous pregnancies. I'm going to make the midwife late with all the stuff that has to be noted down.
I've written up a reminder on my phone of all details and dates. It meant looking through the memory box for my little boy we lost in late pregnancy. I think I had blocked out a lot of those details. Sad
Seeing the pictures we have made me so sad. He was so like his sister, who was born, a year to the day, later.
I feel so strange this evening. Tomorrow's appointment makes everything real. I feel vulnerable to disappointment and hurt again. I have to keep focussing on my dd who is healthy, beautiful and bright as a button. My pregnancy with her was so difficult, both physically and emotionally. I really want to relax a bit more this time round and be less anxious.

wispaxmas · 17/11/2013 23:13

Sadly, I'm not naive, but wish I was! No history of mc myself as this is my first pregnancy, but my sister has had recurrent ones. I know I wouldn't want many ppl at all to know. Ideally just H and I and maybe one friend..

CleverOl10 · 17/11/2013 23:14

Good luck, drama

GillyBillyWilly · 18/11/2013 06:14

MORNING ALL!

It's Monday.... New week.... Hooray! Grin

Hope everyone is well Smile

I still feel like crap but I suppose I feel marginally better than last week so I'm going to work! Thinking if I go to work today and tomorrow, time will go a little bit quicker before my scan on Wednesday!

Hope everyone has a great week Thanks

Morning all.

So jealous of those starting to feel better. I'm 10+5 and feel like I'm getting worse. Had an awful second trimester last time. Hoping for better this time.

Have a ms free day all! Grin

cheesysmile · 18/11/2013 07:38

Not too much to report here really. Ive been having a few tummy pains. Nothing really bad but can feel them ... Is that normal?

A week today til my scan, just want this week to go by quickly.

Good luck to those with scans this week. Only 2 more sleeps for you Gilly!
