wisps great news about your scan!

is there a Facebook group for this fred? If so can ladyGG please add me to it?

i am so so tired. DH has promised me i can spend most of tomorrow in bed since he is going to the pub tonight. I can't wait!

ohcluttergotme · 15/11/2013 15:56

Can I also be added to Facebook page, if someone can tell me what to do that would be fab!
My dh has said he is going to take ds out all day on Sunday as he is working tomorrow morning then going out.
I can't wait for some time Smile

hackneybird · 15/11/2013 16:10

Facebook? What's all this Facebook page? If so yes I'd like to join if poss.

I'm working from home today- going to knock off early a squeeze in an ep of Breaking Bad before I go to collect DS from nursery.

BEEwitched · 15/11/2013 16:13

super I hope you're feeling a bit better!

wispa lovely clear scan picture, can't wait to get mine next week now!

vicki I'm jealous I haven't been given any freebies yet! They still have me down as end of May and said the same about the 20 week scan. Which is silly asv they're working from what should've been an 8+3 scan but was dated 9 weeks.

I'll see what happens at the scan next week.

Did those of you who had their booking appointment also get the big purple NHS pregnancy book?

Penguin13 · 15/11/2013 16:31

Thanks for posting that lovely pic wispa. How exciting! !

Lmf679 · 15/11/2013 17:12

What is everyone having for dinner tonight? I feel sick but also starving so not sure what to have? Not sure whether to risk a curry? Could make me feel worse or could be a good option to stop the gurgling...

LadyGoneGaga · 15/11/2013 17:13

PM me your email addresses and I will add you to the Facebook page. Kat - have added you.

superlambanana · 15/11/2013 17:16

Tagliatelle carbonara. If my body decides it wants something I'm not going to argue at the moment!

Cherryjellybean · 15/11/2013 17:18

wispa lovely to see your pic, how exciting for you!
It feels like forever till mine.

I have been given anti sickness tablets by the doc yesterday, and today i haven't been sick once! So happy! I even took dd to soft play and I will be cooking dinner tonight! My poor dh has had to do nearly everything the last two weeks so he will be relieved i am getting back to normal :)

LadyGoneGaga · 15/11/2013 17:19

We had Spaghetti Carbonara last night, Super. And garlic bread. Which it accepted but didn't want to eat the salad. My body is asking for chinese now. It is clearly a temple.

MarlenaGru · 15/11/2013 17:25

Yum to the pasta! I feel like Chinese tonight. I must have eaten about 10,000 calories today already though. Good grief. Still not put on any weight thankfully!

wispa's scan is so cool! I want a real picture and I don't want to wait 3 weeks

KatAndKit · 15/11/2013 17:29

They have stopped giving out the purple book here, presumably to save money. I think the books you can get in the shops are better anyway as they are more informative. I found the nhs one a bit basic. I like the mumsnet book and the what to expect book. Although the latter is quite American in style and thinks you can go round interviewing consultants to find the right one for you!

why the nhs is still spending cash on printing emmas diary is a mystery to me.

GillyBillyWilly · 15/11/2013 17:55

Wispa have you told everyone now you've had the scan?!
Tell us about your day! Grin

OP posts:
Liquidambar · 15/11/2013 18:02

Thank God is Friday! Smile
We are having grillled monkfish and roasted potatoes with rosemary. But now that someone mentioned chinese.... hmmm

SicknSpan · 15/11/2013 18:05

Gilly yes 5 days and counting until our scans! What time is yours? Not til 13:50 here so I will be waiting for aaages!

Wendle thank you for giving us hope!

Welcome to panicmechanic. Hope things have been plain sailing for you thus far.

I've been thinking of you magpie. Hope today hasn't been too fraught.

Whoever up thread talked about junk food being the only paletable thing, I am so with ya sister! Have had a hot Stilton and beef pasty from the garage down the road and 2 pieces of of KFC original recipe chicken today. However as it's virtually the only food to have stayed down in about 6 weeks I'm not too bothered. Cherry what did the Dr prescribe? So glad it's working working whatever it is.

wispaxmas · 15/11/2013 18:17

We told my brother and his wife almost immediately because they called us on skype at lunchtime, so we told them first. Then we tried to contrive to have a reason to get my mom on skype while we were at H's parents house this afternoon to tell them all together, but they didn't cooperate, so we told his parents.. It was a subdued reaction of, "you're not..." Followed by congratulation, but it was night and day compared to my mom when we told her this evening. She squeeled, jumped up and down, etc! And we managed to get my other brother on FaceTime shortly after and he CRIED, while out in public at a restaurant no less! Still have to tell H's brother and sister, but we will see her in person tomorrow (along with all his aunts and uncles at a family lunch, eek!), and his brother is due to skype while everyone is together at the in laws.

Bizarrely it has been easier to tell my family, since they're all in North America, because without the option of face to face we can call them anytime, where as with H's family, they're all here, so we are trying to tell them in person.

GillyBillyWilly · 15/11/2013 18:17

9:20am on Wednesday! Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
GillyBillyWilly · 15/11/2013 18:22

Ah wispa how lovely! You're making me even more excited for Wednesday now so we can tell people!Smile

We will be doing lots of facetiming as well because we are in London and all of my family live in Devon and DH's family are over an hour or so as well!

I'm going down to Devon next weekend as it's my nephews birthday and it will be nice to see everyone after facetiming them with the news on Wednesday!
Feeling sad that my husband won't be able to come though as he has work... But at least he gets to tell them all on FaceTime!

And I reckon my mum would like to spend some time with just me anyway... She will probably want to go in mothercare and look at everything! Even though she already knows... But she's pretending she doesn't know and will act surprised because I haven't told my dad!Grin

Lovely pic WispaGrin

Yuck day here. Threw up at work for the first time but managed to hide the fact. Still wasn't good. Felt poorly all day so glad to be home. Don't fancy eating anything but DH gone out to get pizza and I might manage a little Wink

Happy weekend all. Big day tomorrow - Telling DS (age 3) then DHs family. Still a secret as don't see my family til next week but so exciting to finally tell some people! Grin

superlambanana · 15/11/2013 18:41

The doctor told me they don't print Emma's Diary any more - he just directed me to the website.

Cherry yes please do tell because the tablets the doctor gave me didn't work!

Sick I'm confused about the Stilton advice - I'd read it was okay as it's hard, and elsewhere that it's okay if it's hot, but my midwife said no to both. Was she just being over cautious?

Micasaestucasa · 15/11/2013 18:44

Hello everyone, not posted for ages as sometimes mumsnet makes my kindle fire crash (very annoying). I still have to wait another 2 weeks for my 1st scan. Very frustrating as I'll be 13 weeks by then and as it's my second pregnancy I have a proper pregnant belly even at 11 weeks. It's pretty obvious even in baggy clothes. If I see anyone I know between now and the scan I will just have to tell them.

Has anyone's sickness peaked and started to tail off? I think I may have been through the worst, but still struggling every day.

Micasaestucasa · 15/11/2013 18:47

Just adding myself now that I'm on a laptop!

I love your pic Wispa. It looks so real! Grin

Is everyone planning telling the day of the scan? We stil haven't told anyone yet and Im currently trying to line up seeing both sets of parents within three weeks of the scan so we can tell face to face. Unfortunately this might straddle Xmas if I can't get a date secured with the difficult one of the three! Grin

Panic - Im booked in at fmc for Harmony when I am 10+3. I used them for an early scan and Ive been impressed so far.

Vickyvix · 15/11/2013 19:23
