Midwife appointment was basically just to tell me they're in the process of changing the way they do things - so my booking-in appointment will be done with the scan. She talked through what I can expect at the booking-in and at further appointments.

She's going to call me tomorrow with my appointment but said hopefully they'll be able to do the week I've got booked off - which is week after next.

Smile
superlambanana · 14/11/2013 13:18

Utter fail here...

Went to station after hospital. Got train to city centre. Felt awful. Got off train, had mcdonalds as it's the only thing that doesn't turn my stomach (go figure) and am now about to get train home as I am just feeling too ill I go to work. Fail!!!

jaykay987 · 14/11/2013 13:21

oh dear super. that's not good. I could eat a McDonald's too!

gin - that's exciting!

Bezzabelle · 14/11/2013 13:53

Gilly, my letter said to empty bladder an hour before scan and then to drink half a pint of liquid and not to go toilet again till after scan.

Chicken McNuggets always go down a treat!

BEEwitched · 14/11/2013 13:53

Ack, super, get some rest and feel better! McDonalds is one of my food groups as well right now.

wispaxmas · 14/11/2013 14:38

Oh my gosh, I just got the letter in the post with the date for my 20-wk scan, too! 14 January!

kittygirl33 · 14/11/2013 15:28

Lady it is surprisingly nice just plodding along, also means the chance of injury is pretty low! I wasn't sure about running while pregnant to start with, but I feel more confident now I'm a bit further along and feeling slightly better, and I'm actually enjoying it.
Gilly I've been asked to go to my scan with a full bladder. But we're probably quite behind the times here up in Aberdeen with our outdated maternity hospital....

seatfor5 · 14/11/2013 15:31

Goodness Wispa thats half way!! :)

Liquid that dress is lovely :)

wispaxmas · 14/11/2013 15:39

Oh, and as for the bladder thing, the letter I just got does say that I should have a 'moderately full bladder.'

ohcluttergotme · 14/11/2013 15:41

My letter for 12 week scan said to come with full bladder and if travelling and will be too uncomfortable allow enough time to arrive and fill bladder up at hospital!

GillyBillyWilly · 14/11/2013 15:54

OMG wispa! That's very good of your hospital to have you booked in for 20 week scan already! Also.. A bit weird! What if your dates are totally wrong? They'd only know for sure at the 12 week scan which you haven't even had yet! Grin How strange.. But exciting!!!!

OP posts:
BEEwitched · 14/11/2013 16:05

My letter didn't give any bladder instructions!

I have my 20 week and my 30-something date in March already. I still need to find out who b to call about my 16-18 week appointment, though. That's with a different person yet again. ..

wispaxmas · 14/11/2013 16:07

let's see if this works...

Liquidambar · 14/11/2013 16:23

Aw wispasx that really put a smile on my face after a long day at work. love it! !

GinandStripes · 14/11/2013 16:54

Oh Wispa Too super cute. Smile

wispaxmas · 14/11/2013 17:18

Thanks Smile. I hope H likes it, he's back on any minute now!

MarlenaGru · 14/11/2013 18:03

Awesome wispa

MTMD · 14/11/2013 18:17

Oh ladies I'm so upset. Haven't used the kitchen for ages but today i opened bottom drawer where we keep dry ingredients (pasta, oats, etc) and realised we have mice! Who knows how long they've been here, the whole draw is a mess :( I'm really upset because we renovated the house last year and I bought loads of mesh wire and told builders to use it all around pipes, ect but they clearly ignored me! I really don't know what to do.. is pest control the only way out..? :( :( We got built in cupboards, the whole wall is full of cupboards with no way of even looking behind :(

cheesysmile · 14/11/2013 18:17

Ah so cool Wispa.

Gilly my letter says you do not need to attend with a full bladder, so different to others. Maybe it depends on the equipment???

Kitty was it you that said you had your scan on 25th? Mines that day too! Smile Not too long to wait now.

Lmf679 · 14/11/2013 18:31

Mtmd we had them in our old flat and got one of those plug in things that sends vibrations and sounds through all the electrical cables, it was about £40 but it really worked, we never had any again after plugging that in

Magpie78 · 14/11/2013 19:12

Hi ladies need some advice. My other half was away last night and as I have had a rubbish day I spike to him at lunch and he promised he would be home when I got back. He is not, he is at the pub and seems to think that it is no big deal breaking a promise to me. Can't be doing with this when I feel so shire and emotional. Just feel he should be putting me first, am I being completely unreasonable?

wispaxmas · 14/11/2013 20:06

I would be upset, too, but not overly so. Does he really understand how rubbish your day was? Has he been apologetic?

Bumblebeesmum · 14/11/2013 20:09

Magpie sorry about that - is he usually 1 to break promises? I have to say in my 1st pregnancy my husband was really quite rubbish at this stage v intolerant of my tiredness / feeling crap etc. Once I had a proper bump & especially with kicking he completely changed & was so attentive. I told a friend & she said same had happened to her - I think some men can find it hard to emphasise until they can see the pregnancy physically - obviously I've no idea what's relevant in your situation but hopefully it'll be something like that which resolves itself.

Magpie78 · 14/11/2013 20:12

Nope, still not home and he isn't particularly interested in my day, to be fair he isn't generally. Just really fed up and don't feel like I have any support from him, don't even know whether he wants this with me. Maybe the hormones though Confused

Magpie78 · 14/11/2013 20:13

Thanks bumble yeah he does this a lot, it is just harder to take though now.
