Lovely news, Tanny. Crossing everything that this one is sticky.

SicknSpan · 13/11/2013 12:20

Lovely news Tanny. Do hang out with us!

wispaxmas · 13/11/2013 12:38

Tanny, that's amazing news! We did lose quite a few people in that tumultuous first month, thank you for letting us now your happy news, I'm thrilled for you Grin. Do stick around with us for a while if you feel like it, have you joined the antenatal thread for your new edd yet?

superlambanana · 13/11/2013 12:47

Congrats Tanny!

Am at work feeling HORRENDOUS. Keep trying not to throw up. One step forward

tannyLoo72 · 13/11/2013 13:35

Thanks! Finding it hard to feel positive, so you doing it for me is a great feeling.

Gilly, Wispa, Penguin and Sick, nice to see you're all doing well!

I've jumped in to the July thread, but might hang with you guys (a bit like hanging out with the sixth formers) for a bit.

My most positive things so far are that the lines are getting darker and I am close to chundering - something I haven't felt since I was pg with DS2.

superlambanana · 13/11/2013 13:36

Congrats Tanny!

Am at work feeling HORRENDOUS. Keep trying not to throw up. One step forward, three back...

CleverOl10 · 13/11/2013 13:54

Lovely news Tanny.

Day off today. So many plans yet back on the sofa Sad I seem to need my day off to recuperate for the rest of the working week. So much for the housework!

On the upside DH brought me home a cheese and tuna toastie for lunch and I've managed to eat it all!

MTMD · 13/11/2013 14:07

I managed to load the dishwasher but now need to lie down to recuperate, ridiculously dizzy and tired. I wonder if this what it's feels like to be old??

carrie105 · 13/11/2013 15:12

Congratulations Tanny great to have you back!

Strange everyone saying they are loving bananas. I was a massive banana eater, usually 2 a day, but since pg I just cant face them. Weird!

Just returned from my booking in appointment. Midwife was fantastic. I don't know whether I am just extremely lucky, but where I am there is a team of 5 midwives who get to know you before birth (based out of our GP surgery) and then one will come to the hospital to be with you at the birth. I was absolutely thrilled at that. We were considering a Doula, but may not bother now as we will know at least one of the midwives on the day.

Sadly she couldn't get any bloods out of me, but I have previous with that.. A few traumatizing incidents of blood taking as a small child when I had a nasty illness seems to make my muscles seize up when someone comes towards me with a needle to take blood!! Strangely I have no issues whatsoever with injections. They are going to try again at my 12 week scan on Monday, so hopefully I won't embarrass myself a second time.

Also, have been classified as low risk (so far), so have been put down for the birthing centre within the hospital, which is great as I would really like a waterbirth. Quite excited now.

GillyBillyWilly · 13/11/2013 15:39

Wispa my work have known im pregnant since I found out! I was doing 12 hour nights and days and my doctor wrote a certificate to get me off shifts immediately so work had to know from day one!
But I still feel bad about having days off sick Sad

Lmf679 · 13/11/2013 15:58

gilly is there something to say you shouldn't do such long hours? My manager knows but she's not being so helpful and in a couple of weeks we have an event which will consist of two 16 hour days back to back, one of those I'm pretty much on my feet all day! I'm dreading it but she seems to think I'll be fine?!! She's not the most considerate of people and has no children so am not sure what to do?

Liquidambar · 13/11/2013 17:21

A long day at work. I'll come back later but just wanted to say congratulations to Tanny Smile

Hope everyone is well.

superlambanana · 13/11/2013 17:40

Lmf that sounds an awful lot. Is there an hr person you can talk to?

Made it to end of work. Not quite sure how! And DH is out AGAIN this evening!

MarlenaGru · 13/11/2013 17:49

Congrats tanny lots of sticky thoughts coming your way!
That sounds amazing carrie I would love to know my midwife! Will see what happens at 34 weeks as maybe home births you have more chance of seeing a known midwife.

wispaxmas · 13/11/2013 18:13

Ahh, Gilly, that makes sense. LMF, your workplace should do a risk assessment for you now that you're pregnant. Read the health and safety section on this site: www.gov.uk/working-when-pregnant-your-rights, long hours and standing for long periods without adequate breaks are both risks.

If you're coping well for now, I wouldn't necessarily bother going so far as to contact your union or health executive (don't really know what those are), but you definitely should raise the hours and standing with your employer. Pregnant women are more prone to fainting if standing for long periods of time, not to mention the sheer fatigue resulting from long hours on your feet. Apparently if your employer cannot remove the risks in your job you should be suspended with full pay!!

cheesysmile · 13/11/2013 18:13

Ah congrats Tanny, thats amazing news, FX for you.

11 more days til my scan now, I can't wait. Who's is first? Wispa yours is soon isn't it? Will be so nice to start telling people.

wispaxmas · 13/11/2013 18:23

It's Friday!!! Grin Grin

wispaxmas · 13/11/2013 18:24

I bought plain white tshirt and babygro today, and some fabric pens to write 'father Christmas' and 'baby Christmas' on them for our reveal on Facebook. Because we are completely lame like that!

Emmazers · 13/11/2013 18:27

Welcome back tanny! What happy news Grin

Lmf that sounds really inappropriate to me. Definitely check with HR on it and don't do anything your body says is not ok! So sorry your manager isn't supportive.

Well I think I spoke too soon about the b6 as I've been feeling nauseated again today. Then again maybe I'd feel much worse if I hadn't? I remember it peaking for me about week 10 (urgh!) last time, so I wouldn't be surprised.

Smells are the worst for me, especially anything synthetic. Perfume (I'm not a fan at the best of times) and washing detergent on clothes are making me gag. I've bought some second hand maternity clothes and stuff for my daughter online but as soon as I start opening the package the waft of the detergent makes me so sick. I have to wash them in my BioD (hippy detergent) before I can stand to even be near them! Bleugh!

Penguin13 · 13/11/2013 18:29

Hooray Tanny! Amazing news Smile sending the stickiest of sticky thoughts your way.

So much for a healthy day today. Was going really well right up till the er second breakfast at 9am after my weetabix at 6.45 Blush

So exciting wispa! 2 more sleeps!

Emmazers · 13/11/2013 18:29

Wispa a) I think it's Wednesday (or are you quoting again?) and b) that is awesome! Smile

Emmazers · 13/11/2013 18:30

Hahahahahaha stupid pregna-brain! Sorry Wispa I just realised what you meant Blush

MTMD · 13/11/2013 18:47

Still more than 3 weeks till my scan, aaaarg! :)

Sick sick sick :( DH late from work but no energy to cook the soup even if it takes 5 minutes to do! I just want to fall asleep and sleep till the end of this trimester...which is almost a month away!

Great news tiny

littlepickly · 13/11/2013 19:02

Congrats Tanny - that's brilliant news!!

I had my booking in appt today with midwife and it was great - same one I had with DD and she is so great, I think I love her! She's so organised and efficient and the right amount of laid back if you know what I mean Smile

All booked in for a home birth too all being well - my midwife is a big advocate of home births so another positive and she is one of the trained midwives running the new hypnobirthing course at my local hospital - it's £200 though so v.expensive but I'm thinking it could be worth it especially if having home birth - will think on it.

Sickness seems to have lessened a bit now so hopefully the tiredness will go soon too - sending hugs to all those suffering with MS it truly is so horrible!!

Have ordered my first pair of maternity jeans today as I don't think the hair bobble trick will last much longer! Grin
