Will this do? I bet someone's beat me to it now!

Thanks for the sling advice ladies! I'm definitely going to look into it. Sounds like a great idea if I can master it!

Good luck with the scan tomorrow randdom!

LittleBairn · 25/11/2013 17:29

hobb and dobe sorry you both have dealt employers that's the last thing you need.
Will you be going back after the baby is born?

I've been meaning to email my PILs to update them on my scan from Friday but not really sure what I should say, I don't want to concern them (or talk about my cervix with my FIL!) but I sort of feel like I'm lying to them if I say everything was normal. [comfused]

LittleBairn · 25/11/2013 17:30

Dealt ? I'm sure I wrote Crappy!

thistlelicker · 25/11/2013 22:09

Maternity trousers are the best thing since bread !!

dobedobedo · 26/11/2013 06:51

Little there is no way I'm going back after baby!

Maybe you could say "everything is great with the baby" in the email. That way you're not lying but you don't have to give them info about yourself.

LittleBairn · 26/11/2013 08:45

dobe oh that's a good reply side steps it nicely.
I don't even have a good photo to show them baby was asleep on its front, ass in the air with he turned in wards.
Why do my babies like showing me their arse? Hmm and always sleeping hope its this good a sleeper outside of the womb but I doubt it!

Spirael · 26/11/2013 08:46

Got my Downs results yesterday, low risk here too. :) Though not huge numbers, more like 1 : 1,200-ish. Can't remember exactly, but it was a smaller chance than I should have for my age, and less than 0.1%, so I'm happy with that!

LittleBairn, maybe write and tell your PIL that the doctors are monitoring you closely, but that there were no major concerns raised from the scan and everything is fine with the baby?

Nausea is back a bit today, here. Bleh! Caused me a bit of grief yesterday evening as well. Looks like I'm not completely out of the woods yet, but hopefully it'll be gone soon and I'll be blooming by Christmas. Wink

I'll be going back to work at 9 months after the birth, like I did last time. So will need to make sure I have a nursery place arranged for the new LO by then! DD will be at school, so just need to make sure she has wrap around care.

I'm a bit strange in that I think I make a much better WOHM than I would a SAHM! I'm much better spending quality time with them at weekends and evenings, while giving them all the fun and opportunities at nursery during the week.

Probably just as well, as it's not like I have a choice anyway. Wink I'm the breadwinner for the family (just) and we need both DH and my salaries to get by!

LittleBairn · 26/11/2013 08:53

spireal most of my bosses (I was a nanny) have said the same and the kids really did benefit from the quality time they got due to parents focusing on them during their free time.

I'm going to write my email using yours and Dobe explanation baby is fine I'm being monitored closely.

randdom · 26/11/2013 09:38

One healthy happy baby. Initially stubborn but after lots of hip wiggling got on to its side. New due date of the 30/5/2014.

Will try an sort out a picture later :) very happy!

Spirael · 26/11/2013 09:52

Congrats, randdom! 30th is an excellent due date. Wink

Is anyone else suffering from itching? It's not my palms or feet, so unlikely to be the liver issue. It's primarily my chest, bump, bottom and back, so probably related to stretching and the fact that no matter how much I drink my skin is really dry!

It's slowly driving me insane and I'm having to keep my nails nice and short so I don't cut myself to ribbons. If anyone has any miracle remedies, I'd like to hear them! I already have DH rubbing pregnancy safe massage oil in all the problem areas once per day. He's well trained. :)

I didn't have this symptom last time... [mutter, grumble] I also had lovely skin and thick glossy hair! However I did have a constant stream of colds last time, which doesn't seem to be happening this time. One small relief there!

mumof2aimingfor4 · 26/11/2013 09:54

randdom glad scan went well and baby is healthy.
Were you the last one on here to have scan?

mumof2aimingfor4 · 26/11/2013 09:55

spirael good old E45 should do the trick. I think they do a specific one for itchy skin.

Xavielli · 26/11/2013 09:58

Congrats Random! Lovely news.

Itching is a nightmare here too, seems to be my thighs at the moment. I did have OC last time so keeping an eye on it but it's no where near as bad. At the end I used to get the kids to scratch my legs and feet with a hairbrush

moominleigh94 · 26/11/2013 10:00

Two weeks and two days until my 20 week scan. 18+1 today Grin

Hope everyone's doing well. I feel nervous, because I have hardly any symptoms anymore but I guess that's normal?

LittleBairn · 26/11/2013 10:06

spirael oh yes my armpits are so itchy now a days, I use Coconut oil. I can only use Simple body wash otherwise my whole body is itchy.
I have sensitive skin anyway but I've never been this bad before.

Cocnut oil is fantastic, its expensive but last for ages I've still on the same tub from 6 months ago.
I used to have really server eczema on my hand no cream (including presciption) could fix it after 5 years of bleeding sore hands I finally used coconut oil its like a miracle cream totally healed my hand.
Any time I have a dry patch I slap some on, its also antibacterial.

randdom congrats on the healthy scan and cooperative baby.

impatientlywaiting · 26/11/2013 10:11

Congrats Randdom. Great news.

LittleBairn · 26/11/2013 10:11

Is anyone loosing hair?
My mine is seriously bad probably being pregant twic win a year hasn't helped. I did a bit of research it seems Argan Oil shampoo is recommended, has anyone used it?

LittleBairn · 26/11/2013 10:13

moomin yes it's normal to have less or no symptoms during the 2nd trimester that's why so many woman say its their favorite trimester. Grin

SicknSpan · 26/11/2013 10:29

Congratulations all on the positive scans Thanks. Small sighs of relief all round!

randdom and spirael I am due on 30th too, nice to have some due date buddies!

I am still so so tired, thought this was supposed to fade! I cant recall being this shattered when pg with ds1 and ds2. Have a feeling this is another boy, anyone else already got a gut feel as to which they are incubating? I was really quite sure ds1 was a boy, right from the start, but didn't have any idea with ds2.

Even though I am 13+3, I still don't really believe I am having a baby! Still hasn't really sunk in properly.

moominleigh94 · 26/11/2013 10:58

SicknSpan I was convinced it was a girl - no real reason other than waking up one morning absolutely certain it's a girl - until a few days ago, when now I'm thinking it'll be a little boy. All will be revealed in two weeks time Grin

LittleBairn · 26/11/2013 11:09

sicknspan I have really struggled with sleep and being larthargic I'm 17 weeks so suprised it hasn't improved. That said I've slept the whole way through 2 nights in a row, so sleeping is a bit better now but I'm still feeling tired by mid afternoon.

loopylou52 · 26/11/2013 13:39

congrats on the scan randdom! Smile

Sorry to hear a couple of you are having trouble with work. That's really bad! I feel really guilty about causing hassle but my managers have been really good about it.

One for the slings experts - any thoughts on the Caboo? It looks like it might be a bit simpler to use than the Moby but have the same sort of benefits. I haven't looked at one in person yet.

We still haven't bought anything yet either, but have browsed round a couple of shops. I feel a bit under pressure for us to buy something (e.g. an outfit or a toy or something) because I'm worried certain excited members of family will buy us baby things for Christmas and I really want us to buy their first things, but don't know how to tell people we don't want them buying us stuff yet. This is a great example of one of those 'my diamond shoes are too tight' situations isn't it! Grin

thistlelicker · 26/11/2013 13:41

Aww I have my 16 week check up today!

randdom · 26/11/2013 14:25

I have attempted to upload some pictures to my profile. I don't know if they are visible? I like that in the second one baby is sucking its thumb :)

dobedobedo · 26/11/2013 14:39

Randdom I'm in work so can't check pics but will when I return home.
It's lovely to hear so much good news on here lately. Glad everyone is doing well.
I've just had my flu jab so my arm is dead. Other than that, I'm doing good. Anyone else had it yet? My baby is getting noticibly bigger and more uncomfortable Grin last night I dreamed it was born but I still couldn't tell the sex or pick a name! Lol
