Frizz and MrsA arghhhh! Exactly! Would LOVE to say something, BUT I may well need some sort of job to come back to and I would effectively be cutting off my nose to spite my face for just a moment of satisfaction!

Toby loving your comment!

Humpty boss kicking - yeah!!!

Welcome Amandine! I too thought £200 was a lot of money for NCT classes, BUT with only two of our sessions left I have to say personally it was one of the best things I decided to do. Partly for DH, so he could meet Dad's to be and learn about what is going to happen, but also because despite not really going to meet friends in the area, it has actually happened and the others are really keen to keep meeting up! Frizz what a shame your lot aren't that keen yet - ours only really spoke up last night and said "we only have two left so let's still meet up on a Tuesday night shall we for drinks/food?" I think it probably takes one or two people in the group to be proactive about it.

Last night we had her previous class come in to talk to us about their experiences - their babies are now around 10 weeks old. I found it so useful and very reassuring!

Peanutsmummy2be · 30/10/2013 14:00

TobyLerone · 30/10/2013 15:44

Hi newbies :)

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 30/10/2013 15:54

Hello peanuts and amandine.
If you want to add your EDDs to our stats thread then we can all stalk you encourage you when you're next in the queue. Grin

Amibambini · 30/10/2013 17:20

Hey there. Just found this thread, thought I'd say hello and introduce myself.

Pregnant with first child, a girl Grin, due Jan 5th.

I live in London with my awesome partner on a little dutch barge that we are madly trying to finish before the arrival of our new crew member.
Have been pretty lucky with my pregnancy so far, very little ms, hasn't really impacted on my life in any way (apart from no more boozing!), still feeling pretty nimble and normal, though I do get slightly more puffed out on my bike, and having to eating A LOT of Rennies.

Fun side-effect, my face is much hairier! I have blond mutton chops!

Halfway through hypnobirthing classes, about to start NCT next week.

Haven't bought ANYTHING yet, no pram, no sleeping paraphernalia, nothing!

TobyLerone · 30/10/2013 17:35

Hi Ami! You and I are due date twins :)
How cool to live on a barge!

I don't think you're the only one who hasn't bought anything. We've got the pram and a car seat but nothing else!

extracrunchy · 30/10/2013 18:02

Welcome, Ami, Peanuts and Amandine!
Ami DH and I lived on a boat before we had DS but had to move because landlady didn't want children and wouldn't renew our lease. I miss it so much!!

flyawayblue · 30/10/2013 18:25

Sad to read that others have horrible bosses. Sultanajo MrsA & Frizz Agree with Humpty that a good kicking is in order. Mine hasn't even got documents to HR yet for advertising my cover. It just won't happen in time even though I told him at 3 months. It's just stupid and as I lead a team appalling for them as they may be without a line manager for a bit.

Sultanajo I'm also worried about changes to my job while I'm off but can't believe the nerve of discussing it like that!

Mythree also woke up with cramp this morning - not nice! Sadly quite a regularly thing for me at the moment, hope it doesn't become regular for you.

nature Go for the green. It's not that much more and it will make you smile later.

Welcome to Amandine, Ami & Peanuts Smile Ami love the sound of the barge - always wanted to live on one.

I'm really tired this week, could go to bed when I get home tired. Cutting back on hours at work, well working nearer to the 35 I'm pain for than the 50 I was doing but still knackered and now things aren't being done.. Need to workout how many weeks I've got left at work and then shout at boss some more.

MrsGSR · 30/10/2013 18:32

Welcome to those who've just joined!

We've bought hardly anything, were given a moses basket but need to buy a pram and new mattress etc

I had really bad cramp a few nights last week and over the weekend. Since taking my iron tablets (28 week bloods showed I'm slightly anemic) I haven't had any. Might not be related but I hope it lasts!

Percypiglet · 30/10/2013 18:40

Mythree I had cramps almost daily in the first trimester and first half of second trimester (way too early, as they say you are more likely to get it in the 3rd trimester). They kill. I was often out of bed well quick, swearing like mad and waking DH up! Very ladylike. It helped me to eat bananas and do stretching calf exercises each day. I also notice that if I stretch out my legs too quickly in bed that's when I am more likely to get cramps, so I gingerly stretch now! Might help you?!

I was naughty today and had a lie on my back this morning - it was soooooo nice. Life is strange when I consider this a luxury!!

Welcome newbies...

quackojuliet · 30/10/2013 18:45

Evening all and welcome newbies!
We had a 3d/4d scan today, groupon deal in london. We had a good view of our little miss asleep, then blowing rasberries and opening her eyes, was amazing! The sonographer put the 3d on for a view of her girly bits at which point I felt we were invading her privacy somewhat...
We've got our first antenatal class tonight so looking forward to that. Its been a very babycentric day!

sarahleanne · 30/10/2013 19:01

hello newbies wow 3 new late comers all at once, the group is growing. There must be loads of us now.

I have bought most of my stuff without even realising it.I just need a breast pump, car seat and ummm I think that's it? I need to go through what I have when i'm on leave.

I asked DH on the phone today if he thought I had spread sideways with this pregnancy as someone at work said I looked chubby Hmm , he said it in jest but it's made me a bit paranoid. DH went quiet then said ' well your bigger than when you had DD'. Sad.He then tried to redeem himself by saying 'but it could be because the babies lying across your belly and not head down' haha.
I'm scared to stand on the scales!!

Some cuntpuffin twats have vandalised DS's school and DD's nursery, bloody idiots! All their outdoor equipment is ruined now!

Re leg cramps I've had them about 3 times now so not too bad but my god I've never moved so fast out of bed in my life.

Babies body part is stuck right under my ribs but I cant work out which part it is? maybe a foot? which would be good as it means perhaps it is turning around a bit. But it definitely doesn't feel head down as I don't have that head between legs shit ahhh kind of pain yet.

I havn't bothered with nct classes but that's probably because i'm on my third. I went to them with my first but don't remember much Blush

ooohhh DH is hopefully home tomorrow yippeeee that's not a sarcastic yippee Smile

Naturegirl82 · 30/10/2013 19:07

percy don't feel guilty for lying on your back. My scan on Monday lasted an hour and a half and I was lying on my back that whole time. Consultant didn't seem fussed.

Welcome to the newbies. Smile

By some miracle it looks like I might actually meet my work deadlines tomorrow despite some inept colleagues who apparently can't use a word template! I'm still amazed at how much they messed up the formatting!

I'm in the tired club too but trying to power through to get the house tidy as we have visitors at the weekend.

Oh and I'm going for the green Grin Thanks everyone. I feel I can treat myself given the stress of the last week Smile (although I will be changing the colour of the car seat as well now! Ha! Smile )

Hope rubbish bosses pull their fingers out soon for you all.

TobyLerone · 30/10/2013 19:28

I lie on my back often, and sleep on my back for most of the night.

Angelesque · 30/10/2013 20:09

Hi newbies!

Ami how's hypnobirthing going? We start our classes in two weeks.

Also had a horrible day at work. So frustrating and exhausting... Another 2 1/2 months to go, boo!

Also had leg cramp for first time last night... Woke up with massive calf pain, but just pulled my foot back and it disappeared... Weird!

Amibambini · 30/10/2013 22:17

Yeah what is it with the leg cramps? I have to be careful stretching in bed at night because it triggers a big YOOOWWWW in the leg area.

Thanks for the welcome ladies! Have added myself to the stats page.

Waves at TobyLerone hey fellow birth date twin!

Extracrunchy - ah that's a pain that your landlady was anti-kids. Yeah some people can be quite negatively opinionated about the idea of raising a child on a boat. Sucks to be them. Where was your boat and what kind was it? It's never too late to get back onto the water!

Angelesque - hypnobirthing classes are going ok. Some of it is a bit hippy dippy and I have to hide my eye rolls at some of the examples of mind over matter reasoning. Like really? Poor people are poor because they don't 'Think Rich'? Bitch please. But aside from some of that foolery, I do appreciate the whole fear equals pain thing and trusting that your body knows the way to give birth, so work with it instead of against it. My partner and I definitely fall asleep easily while listening to the relaxation recordings so they seem to work, thigh I'm listening to one about positive birth affirmations while typing not sure if that's the right way to do it. Anyways, my slightly cynical self is giving it a go because I've heard so many consistently positive stories about hypnobirthing from very level headed women.

Frizz1986 · 30/10/2013 22:46

Welcome toall the newbies. Glad you managed to find us crazy lot Smile

Nct class tonight was really good and just felt really relaxed. Everyone seemed to be much more chatty which was really good although i am knackered now and keep thinking about a burger king (damn food thougts)

nature glad u went for the green you would have only regretted ir it otherwise.

I love falling asleep on the sofa as i am propped up on my back. I think its my best sleeping experiences now. I wake up loads in bed and have sore hips and have to turn over, then i realise that my if i lie on my left my hip hurts within 5 mins so its straight back onto my right where i just have to deal with the discomfort as best i can.

Cant wait for the weekend when we do the nursery and i am finally going to get some non underwired bras. I have just been wearing all these old ones that used to be too big but know that i prob should be going for some non underwired ones to help with the milk ducts etc.
Anyway m&s do a pack of 2 fairly cheap so am going to nip in and try some sizes on this weekend.
When are we supposed to get nursing bras? As surely my boobs are gonna explode once the baby arrives and they fill with milk but its not like i can go get measured then.
Also thinking of seeing if i can get a mega cheap nightie for my hospital bag in primark or something.

quackojuliet · 30/10/2013 22:56

Frizz I got a 2 pack of soft cotton nursing bras from m&s that I've been using for past 2 months with no complaints, course my boobs will get bigger when milk comes in but hopefully these will be useful at some stage. Thought I may as well buy nursing if I have the choice and they're very comfy - spotty ones.

Our nct class was good, its a friendly group and we quickly got past the anxious first few introductions... DH was cynical at first but think he enjoyed it more than me and practically skipped out! Am glad he's feeling more involved now and its less abstract for him.

extracrunchy · 31/10/2013 00:10

Haha Ami "bitch please" is my favourite phrase Grin
It was the lower deck of a barge in Brentford. So so nice living on a boat. Think we might consider moving back onto one in a few years if we can afford to buy. Do you own yours?
I miss waking up to the fire boat rocking the crap out of us and maybe moorhens living on the deck! And we had the best parties. We were legendary.

extracrunchy · 31/10/2013 00:11

Baby moorhens not maybe moorhens.
And our cat loved it. He used to sit in the tree on the bank like a leopard and stalk things.

chocoloulou33 · 31/10/2013 07:41

Morning all and hello to the newbies!happy halloween everyone Halloween Smile

We got our pram yesterday yeyyyyy. Our first big buy. We got the mothercare xpedia in black. I wanted blue but oh wanted red. After a 5 min domestic in shop we had to compromise with black.

in other news I had my whooping cough and flu jabs on Monday. One in each arm. Not sure what one was which but one arm is still aching now. Not as nad as I thought though as I hate needles. Also got my blood test results and am anaemic so am on iron tablets now.
Day off for me 2day so have got some stuff to do for the kids as they want to go trick or treating 2nite. Hope you all have a good day x
