wm I'm a knitter too when pregnant I totally loose my mojo, typical the most useful time to have such a skill ( barely admittedly Blush ) and I can't utilise it.

snoozysleeper · 27/10/2013 23:19

Calling in late in the day..

Hello coke Smile

xavielli I'm sorry to hear there are some unsupportive people out there but ignore them and focus on your little bean Flowers

snoozysleeper · 27/10/2013 23:22

moomin make sure you keep hydrated

dobedobedo · 28/10/2013 06:40

Morning! How are we all with this storm? I'm hoping a tree has fallen on my route to work Grin

I'm really aware of the baby now... I can feel it all the time. Not specifically the baby, but my uterus has got way bigger the past couple of days and I can feel a hard ball in my tummy. I can still fit in normal trousers but I'm sure that's only because I've lost weight. Will need to buy some maternity ones this week!

thistlelicker · 28/10/2013 06:50

How do u know things r changing inside???

I've had periods type pain this morning Hmm

mumof2aimingfor4 · 28/10/2013 06:59

Good morning ladies :)

Thistle they're most likely stretching pains. Just yake it easier today.

Storm isnt too bad here (West london) only pulled a hanging basket off the wall. Dog wasn't impressed when I sent her out for a wee though!

2nd morning running I've been able to drink tea! Really hoping its because I've turned a corner rather than something being wrong.

10+4

AliOh · 28/10/2013 07:09

Hi coke and congrats on your scan!

Hope you're feeling better rebecca and made your flight ok!

xav ignore all the shitty people, I'm sure you'll care a hell of a lot less when you have beautiful baby in your arms :) they're just jealous of you :)

Hoping I can get home from London ok, apparently a lot of the morning trains are cancelled but we have an afternoon one so fingers crossed :/

12 weeks today!!!

hamncheese · 28/10/2013 08:25

flea same not wanting to do anything. I spent two months doing nothing and feeling very low because of the ms. Just now starting to get some energy and will to do stuff back.

Another knitter here. Reluctantly did mittens for DS the other day but didn't enjoy it. Bah

I have a car! Ended up buying the one last night woohoo. Celebratory trip to asda to follow (I'm very much out of cheese and its 90% of my diet at the moment)

Anyone else getting the headaches? Urgh. Mind you, they are nothing compared to ms so I should be happy!

thistlelicker · 28/10/2013 08:35

Migraines here :-(

Hezbean · 28/10/2013 08:42

Morning everyone!

hamandcheese - I've been getting headaches, they feel a bit like tension headaches. I know what you mean about cheese, I can't get enough of it. I guess we need the calcium!? Congrats on the new car!

Last night about 11.30 I had a really strong hankering for tinned pears. Random!

impatientlywaiting · 28/10/2013 09:24

Morning all,

Congrats on being 12 weeks AliOh. Hope those who aren't feeling great start feeling better as the day goes on. Xav just try and ignore the Facebook comments. Bet all of your real friends and family are over the moon for you, I suggest a Facebook cull!

My first and last day at work for the week today. I'm going to Lisbon tomorrow for a city break so looking forward to that. Although I doubt any clothes will fit me. In general I watch what I eat, I'm not always on a diet, but I try not to over eat, and I'm usually a size 8-10. Well since I've been pregnant I have pigged out on anything I even mildly fancy. I have felt hungrier than normal but I've also lost any sense of restraint and I've already put on a stone (no morning sickness for me) none of my clothes fit anymore so feeling a bit crappy. DH was surprisingly unsympathetic saying I'm pregnant get over it and don't let it bother me, but I know that the majority of the weight isn't baby related. So I've been on a bit of a downer this weekend about it. Know I just need to start eating healthily and buy clothes that fit and stop moaning, so will focus on doing that.

Hope everyone has a good Monday.

13+5

Hezbean · 28/10/2013 10:30

Ahhhh impatiently. I know exactly what you mean. I didn't exactly diet before I was pregnant but I mostly followed a clean eating plan with lots of good proteins and vegetables, weight training, limited carbs, healthy snacks, and was good at treating myself (wine, chocolate etc) but not going mad and bingeing. I felt brilliant for it and had been eating like that for about a year and never felt deprived, it all just felt normal.

Since getting pregnant my diet has been crap, comparatively! Which is all wrong really. I just want crappy carbs like white bread and loads of cheese, popcorn, cake and crisps and just can't stop myself eating!!! And I've been starving the whole time and feel sick if I don't eat. Only 10+6 and already quite a bit bigger round my middle and I too am annoyed because I wanted to stay really healthy, but I just seem to want to eat rubbish. My skin is terrible too - I know it's probably mostly the hormones but the rubbish I'm eating surely can't help!

hamncheese · 28/10/2013 10:31

Don't worry impatiently I did that with DS put a stone on in the first trimester, and then freaked when I put on three stone in total. HOWEVER it turns out two of that (minus DS, placenta etc) was retained water. Seriously, I lost two stone in a week post birth. It was mad. I was so puffed at the end though so makes sense. Generally though I think once the second trimester comes and you have energy and don't spent 20 hours a day stationery, 12 of those asleep, and improve diet, you won't put on as much so quickly :)

I'm going out now, IN MY NEW CAR, to treat myself to much needed new pjs undies and non floaty dresses that I don't feel belly conscious in because I have a legit reason for the pot belly aka bump!

thistlelicker · 28/10/2013 11:25

Sorry f this has been asked already, but what apps do ppl use ?

JuniorMint · 28/10/2013 11:25

Hello Maybies! I posted on the original Maybies thread but then TWO WHOLE threads have passed me by! Wow, but I have really enjoyed reading through them, hearing about how everyone is doing. I'm a teacher and its half term here now so I'm indulging in a lazy Monday with MN catch up!

I have my scan on Thursday (Halloween!) and so just so excited! I'll be 12+1 then. Scan is at 9.20am, so all being well (fingers crossed) DH and I plan to go straight to the shops afterwards to make our first baby purchases- have not allowed ourselves to buy anything yet!

My morning sickness seems to have curtailed, I never had it too bad just a few bursts. I have put on about 5lbs and feel quite bloated, struggling to get my jeans fastened so think I will buy some stretchy top maternity type ones this week (seen some in New Look). I've been getting a little bit of what I think is round ligament pain when I turn over in bed or sit up quickly, I don't know if its a bit early for this but from googling its what it seems to be?

Good luck all the Maybies!

banana101 · 28/10/2013 11:36

Hello everyone - I've been quietly lurking since I posted a few weeks ago too.

I've just had my 12 dating week scan. It would appear that there is something there and all seems fine! :)

I still have to wait for my blood tests as I had my nuchal test too. But should hopefully have a better idea of my risk by the end of the week.

It still feels unreal. I had been worried as my symptoms had started to weaken a couple of weeks ago and I almost feeling normal.

They gave me a revised EDD of 2nd May instead of the 9th. Which is interesting as it would make this an immaculate conception (!)

But the sonographer wouldn't budge. Any one else experienced this?

All the best too you all!

LaceyLee · 28/10/2013 11:40

Hi girls sorry I haven't posted for ages, unfortunately my scan last week showed an mmc. Booked in for the erpc but then started bleeding later that day. Had to go to a&e eventually as bleeding was so heavy and was in hosp for 2 days. Was a horrible experience and such an awful shock as I still had all my symptoms. We are totally gutted but hoping to move on and try again soon. Really hope all of you have better luck than us and have lovely uneventful pregnancies x

Spirael · 28/10/2013 11:44

Morning everyone! :) (Just...)

WB, JuniorMint! I have my (private reassurance) scan on Thursday as well, but mine is at around 5pm and I'll only be 9+5. Hopefully all will be fine, I've no reason to believe otherwise, but there's always that niggly fear at the back of your mind.

My local hospital being enthusiastically organised this time around, I then get my NHS scan a week on Friday when I'm 10+6! I was nearer 13 weeks last time, which is why I'd gone ahead and booked a private scan this time around. Oh well...

Still struggling with exhaustion and MS here. It's not gotten any worse exactly, but it's present most of the time now and can strike even at night when I was previously fine. Hopefully it'll ease soon! I suspect I may be back at the doctor at the start of next week to ask if I can be signed off a little longer, however. There's no way I could work with it at present. Most people found their MS was fading at around 11-12 weeks, right? Not long now...

I haven't weighed myself and I'm not intending to. I tend to gain most weight in the first trimester when my diet goes out of the window thanks to MS and food revulsion for healthy things. I think I'm doing better this time around than last time, however. Less desire for stodge, more for fruit and liquid!

Quite excited here that all the pieces for our new bed are being delivered over the coming days. Hopefully by the end of the week I won't be crowded into sharing a double with DH anymore, we'll be able to sprawl in a super king. Grin Means as my bump grows I can take mountains of cushions and pillows into bed with me and actually still fit in myself and be covered by the duvet. Bliss!

Spirael · 28/10/2013 11:46

Cross posted, LaceyLee. So sorry to hear about your MMC. :( Take care of yourself.
