What are people being rude about Xavielli? Set us on them, 60-odd pregnant hormonal women in convoy attacking them will set them right Grin

Xavielli · 27/10/2013 17:05

Because it's our 5th, because DP has had a vasectomy, because we live in social housing, because the NHS wouldn't sterilise me before 30.

People don't seem to make the connection that under these circumstances I might be struggling with the fact that I'm pregnant myself :(

Just feel quite hurt, I know the circumstances aren't great but I was just starting to come to terms with it all.

Sorry to post this here where you're all so desperate for happy healthy pregnancies :(

Xavielli · 27/10/2013 17:17

My 5th rather - our 7th. (2 each from previous relationships and this will be our 3rd together - DP had the snip after we had our first together)

LittleBairn · 27/10/2013 17:22

Xavielli oh no that's a shame.
I deleted my orginal account (only had it a few months) after I mentioned I had shingles and not one single famoly member or friend thought to ask how I was feeling. Yet I'm expected to constantly comment on photos and keep in touch. I made a new private one just to use for liking pages for info and my interests.

moominleigh94 · 27/10/2013 17:25

Xavielli, sorry to hear people are being twats Sad

For what it's worth, I've had mostly good reactions, but a few nasty comments - young parents, going to be scrounging off the state, doing it for a house etc etc. I've realised that these people aren't worth bothering with; if they can't be happy for me then why the hell does their opinion matter to me?

OP posts:
LittleBairn · 27/10/2013 17:27

Xav gosh it's none of their business to comment on how many children you have or the circumstances surrounding them. How self involved of them to not consider how you are feeling.
Can you not delete them?

That sounds like a very unsuccessful snip! A friend of mine ended up having her 6th less than a year after her twins were born due to an ineffective vasectomy.

Please don't worry about feeling down, that's what these threads are for the good and bad moments.

loopylou52 · 27/10/2013 17:41

Gosh, if people can't be supportive why can't they just keep quiet! And of course you can talk about your feelings on here - they're just as valid as anyone else's.

wm3010 · 27/10/2013 17:58

xavielli people can be so insensitive, sorry to hear that was the reaction. Just ignore as much as possible.

FrightFlea · 27/10/2013 18:24

Xavielli that must hurt so much. Sad and post here about any stuff you want. There are ups and downs to pregnancy for us all.

Rebecca hope you have a fab time in Bali. Hopefully you'll feel better when you are on the plane and can just relax. Getting ready for hols is stressful even without the pregnancy hormones raging.

MS is still in full swing for me. Had to stay off the interweb the past few days as that made me sick too. Wish i could get back into my crocheting as I have tons of presents for Xmas pending and feel the time pressure now. Does anyone else find they can't do things they used to because of the nausea? Or am I a weirdo?

moobaloo · 27/10/2013 18:31

I'm not going to announce this on fb as I don't want any negative comments Sad Just going to tell people as I see them once we've told our parents etc. (After scan. 3 weeks. can't wait!)

A distant friend of mine only announced hers on fb when she had the baby! A big surprise to all of us who hadn't seen her in real life (She lives across the country) but it was a nice surprise when she posted "I'm a mummy!" with a pic!

I'm still feeling ill but am lucky really as only thrown up once, I find it really hard to plan what I'm going to eat though as I suddenly can't face certain foods but I don't know what I'm going to like or not until I get to the point of eating it! Driving dp mad by refusing meals and just eating bread or fruit lol

10 weeks today - I have a prune Grin

mumof2aimingfor4 · 27/10/2013 18:34

Xavielli dont let their negative comments get you down. I find when people are negative/bitchy about others it is mainly due to jealousy. You have a loving partner of whome you have been blessed with several children. I know a couple whome when she fell pregnant after he'd had the snip he questioned her about it being his! They're probably also jealous that your relationship is that solid that that sort of thing wasnt an issue.
Be proud of your baby bump and hold your head high with a solid finger up at the knobs that have been insensitive.

dobedobedo · 27/10/2013 18:47

Sorry you've had a shit reaction xavielli. Facebook can be awful. Thankfully I've blocked the vast majority of my family and all my Bible bashing friends from school. It's really not worth having negative people around. They suck the joy out of everything. I advise you get trigger happy with the block button!

I'm currently cooking a roast dinner. Ohmyfuckinggod I cannot wait to get it in my face. I've eaten nothing all day and I'm ready for it!

Anyone else live in the storm area? We do but it's eerily quiet right now.

Hezbean · 27/10/2013 19:06

Hi everyone!

Xavielli thats horrible - such a shame people can be so mean. Hope you're ok.

Glad to hear a few people are coming to the end of ms. Mine seems a bit better too though I still feel rough if I get hungry - and I'm still eating for Britain like lots of you are too, glad it's not just me!!

Had a lovely day today - we went for a long (windy!) walk and lunch with my best friend, her husband and two little boys. So sweet seeing my dh with our godson picking up sticks and collecting leaves and running about - I was just imagining what a lovely dad he will be. My friend also gave me a huge crate of her maternity clothes - will be so so useful and save me loads of money - lots of tops and jeans and bits and pieces. I don't quite need them yet but I'm sure it won't be long.

Bought a maternity bra yesterday as all my usual ones were getting too tight. Most of them in the shops are quite frumpy but I found one that was ok. I thought it would be weird not wearing underwire but oh my god it's sooooo comfy!!!

rebeccax2 · 27/10/2013 19:25

Hey hezbean my age and DD twin. Where do you live by the way?

I'm enjoying my underwire free bras, but I'm already grown out of my new bigger ones... eeek

I keep day dreaming about my other half and him being a wonderful father too. Awww.

Hezbean · 27/10/2013 19:30

Hi Rebecca yes we are twinnies!! Love that.

I'm in west London - been in various places in the area for about 10 years. Where are you? I guess we will move out of town at some point but I don't want to have a long commute when I go back to work after mat. leave initially so we will stay put for now. We will have to have the worlds biggest clear out of our flat to make room for the little one and associated stuff though! It's already fit to bursting.

Bet you can't wait for your holiday! Hope you got everything sorted :-)

mumof2aimingfor4 · 27/10/2013 19:33

hezbean im in west london too!

rebeccax2 · 27/10/2013 19:42

East London here - Shoreditch way.

I'm dreading leaving central London but I suppose it is inevitable. :-/

I'm packed now and less stressed. Lying on the couch now with popcorn waiting for the storm to roll in and roll past and let my flight leave!

Hezbean · 27/10/2013 19:49

Yay London girls!! Which hospitals are you going to be going into (if you're having a hospital birth)? I'll be going to st Mary's in paddington.

I love London - will be really sad to leave when the time comes but we reckon we can do another couple of years in the flat before we outgrow it and the plastic toys and tat take over! I work in islington and my job involves occasional evenings so we won't want to be too far out.

They put scaffolding up outside our entire street this week as they doing something to the brick work. Hope it stays put in this wind!

And Rebecca hope your flight gets off ok. Bring us back some sunshine!!

mumof2aimingfor4 · 27/10/2013 19:58

Im at ealing hospital had both dd's there and cant fault them. Would go to queen Charlotte's but I have quick births and carry strep b so have to have IV antibiotics.

mumof2aimingfor4 · 27/10/2013 19:58

rebecca hope you have a great holiday. Enjoy :)

Hezbean · 27/10/2013 20:00

I was offered the choice of 5 hospitals!

I've heard good things about queen charlottes and wasn't really sure whether to pick there or st Mary's. St Mary's is just a bit closer though so that swung it for us!

moominleigh94 · 27/10/2013 20:01

I hate the side effects of this antibiotic. Didn't realise it was a side effect until I read the packet today. I didn't think it could get any worse than the pregnancy constipation, but the opposite is much much worse (tmi, sorry).

OP posts:
mumof2aimingfor4 · 27/10/2013 20:07

My friend works at St Marys very good hospital. She works in the peadeiatric intensive care unit though.
Queen charlotte's has had mixed reviews from people I know but it all depends on what you want for your labour. I like ealing hospital as its only £65 for a private room instead of going on ward after babys born.

wm3010 · 27/10/2013 21:00

frightflea I know what you mean about not being able to do your normal stuff due to nausea, I am a knitter but between nausea and tiredness my christmas projects are going to end up being pretty last minute I think!

Xavielli · 27/10/2013 22:25

Thanks guys. I don't usually let things like that bother me, but it seems to be a measure of how low I'm feeling right now.
