They DO only date you up to 3+, spinninggirl. I think she means she got 2-3 weeks since conception which equates to 4-5 weeks pregnant! Don't buy more as you'll be disappointed.

jbiscuits · 29/10/2013 18:57

Hi Ladies, can I hop on board too please :)

Got my BFP yesterday, still doesn't feel quite real. Was hoping for a GP appointment to help it sink in, but they just spoke to me on the phone and got me to book with the midwife, but that's not for three weeks.

I think my due date should be 4th-6th July (not sure what my average cycle length should be), and I'm about 4w+5.

MrsB2013 · 29/10/2013 19:43

Evening all! Hope everyone is ok?

Congratulations Jbiscuits My doctor just wanted the 1st day of last period, she didn't ask about average cycle. Have you used any of the due date calculators online? Is this your first?

Has anyone got any real symptoms like increased sense of smell, peeing more often? I've still got nothing at all and I'm 5 weeks today!

Thanks ladies, I will go search for some info on cs.

MrsB2013 · 29/10/2013 19:45

Oh and I've started with the coco butter lotion, hoping to avoid stretch marks!!

spinningirl10 · 29/10/2013 21:05

Oh ok thanks Lady for clearing that up Grin

Welcome JBiscuits and congratulations!

MrsB.....I always use cocoa butter body lotion from body shop but with my last pregnancy I used Bio-Oil.....you can buy it from Boots or Superdrug, it's fab stuff and I never got any stretch marks with my second and the few I got first time round faded loads with use of this oil!

Just thought I'd mention it as I actually bought some yesterday Grin

Um, I tested + yesterday morning. I am in shock. One contraceptive failure and one unexpected surprise. I am going to be 40 next month and already have 3, my youngest is 6 :-o

AhoyMcCoy · 29/10/2013 22:07

Yes, sorry spinning - what ladygonegaga said!!

Welcome to other newbies!

I think all my friends may have guessed already- went out for a curry tonight with them all, and at the end the waiter said "here are some complimentary Baileys for you all!" And I had to turn mine down, and they looked at me like "WHO ON EARTH TURNS DOWN FREE BAILEYS?!!" Grin

jaykay987 · 29/10/2013 22:37

DH is sick, but Im just angry with him.

He's his own worst enemy. He worked late, and by the time he got home he was a feverish shivering wreck. Then I had to look after him.

Ive felt bad today, so came home and went straight to bed. So to have to get up to look after him, when he can't be bothered to ask how I am, just riled me.

I was so angry I was being a b*tch. Now I can't stop crying, because I was such a cow.

I was clearly never destined to be a nurse. I have no sympathy.

Now can't stop crying. I need to get off this roller coaster. Aaaagggghhhh!!

spinningirl10 · 30/10/2013 07:09

Oh Jaykay I would have been angry with him as well!!

And he should have just looked after himself when he got home....you don't want to catch his bug!

Hope you're feeling a bit better this morning? :)

spinningirl10 · 30/10/2013 07:11

Ahoy it does sound as though your friends might have guessed now!

Free Baileys....I'd have struggled to turn that down :)

Welcome anyclue do you know when you're due?

Oh no I've just been to the toilet and I'm bleeding :(

I've never had this before so don't know what to do....do I need to tell doc or midwife? I have a contact number for midwife even though not had booking in appointment yet. Will they even want to know??

Spinning, first off don't panic. Bleeding is pretty common in early pregnancy and isn't necessarily sinister. Some questions? Is it just spotting or more? Is it brown (most likely old blood from implantation) or red (which could be a fresh bleed?). Do you have pain or cramping? Do you still feel pregnant? Sore boobs, nausea etc?

I would ring the midwife but until you get to 6 weeks they probably won't scan you as too early to see anything yet. so you'll be a bit in limbo I guess until then. I had bleeding at about 5 weeks with DS and it was put down as an implantation bleed. The bleeding when I mc'ed was a bit different and I felt different.

Are you meant to be at work or anything today? I'd be inclined to ring in sick and rest if so. I know it's horribly worrying.

spinningirl10 · 30/10/2013 08:02

Thanks lady.....no not working, it's half term so home with my 7 year old. It's fresh bright red blood!
I had some pain overnight on Monday but it went yesterday. It was like a period pain, quite strong but that is how I get them.
I still feel sick which I have done constantly since getting my bfp.

What a worry this all is......and it's the not knowing what's happening that's awful.

OP posts:
LadyGoneGaga · 30/10/2013 08:07

It's good that you are still feeling sick. When I mc'ed I lost my symptoms a few days before I started bleeding. When I didn't mc but bled i kepy all my symtoms. Is there a lot of blood? Any clots? I think there are other causes of bleeding. It is such a worry Sad. I would call the midwife and see what they suggest and try and rest as much as you can today (easier said than done with kids, but maybe you can just put a load of DVD's on today and snuggle up on the sofa?). Here for you though so keep us updated.

LadyGoneGaga · 30/10/2013 08:08

Apologies for all the typo's above.

spinningirl10 · 30/10/2013 08:17

Thank you again lady.....no clots just blood, like blood at star of period really, not spotting.
Got a dull ache in my stomach.

spinningirl10 · 30/10/2013 08:19

Sorry that posted before I finished writing!
Hopefully it wasn't too much blood.....scared to go again now in case there's more.
Have put a pad on to keep an eye

jaykay987 · 30/10/2013 08:58

oh no. sorry spinning Did you manage to speak to anyone yet? Have it stopped?

Im feeling less angry this morning thank you! But definitely more sick. DH hasn't had a day off in 11years....but is off sick today. If I catch it - does anyone know if it'll cause serious problems? I haven't had the flu jab yet - so am a bit worried. I'm only 5w + 4 so a bit delicate!
He's sleeping in another room, but we are sharing the same house...FX I'm lucky and don't get it.

LadyGoneGaga · 30/10/2013 09:03

Jaykay, what does he actually have? Problem with being ill is compound effect of feeling ill due to pregnancy and ill due to being ill. Plus all the usual things you'd take, you are not allowed to! You want to avoid getting a fever if at all possible. You should send DH to the docs though if he's that ill.

jaykay987 · 30/10/2013 09:39

I'm guessing he has a mild flu. He has a fever, sore throat, headache etc etc but also has uncontrollable shivers. Last night he was dizzy and very weak too and this morning he has no recollection of getting home or anything that happened last night.
He's got beechams flu plus tablets, a hot water bottle and a day off to sleep. So I expect he'll be feeling better tomorrow or Friday.

I already have hormonal headaches, really tired and the pregnacold. FX I don't get this too.. it'll knock me for six as I can't take any medicine to shake it!

spinningirl10 · 30/10/2013 10:09

I'm still bleeding, it's like a period bleed :(

I've left a message for midwives, I'll phone doc if they don't call me back this morning.

Can't decide if I'm still feeling sick because of pregnancy or because I'm worried sick!

Nature can be very cruel :(

spinningirl10 · 30/10/2013 10:11

And Jaykay.....hope you dh is feeling better soon and that you keep well :)

My dp has taken my 7 year old out......I wanted to go but dp made me stay put.....I feel so bad for him.

OP posts:
spinningirl10 · 30/10/2013 10:15

There was a number to call incase of emergency on the midwives answer phone message.

Should I call that....I'm not really an emergency, just worried!!

They did say they could take 24 hours to get back to me!

OP posts:
spinningirl10 · 30/10/2013 10:36

I phoned the emergency number and the midwife said to make an appointment for 7-8 weeks and they'll see me then!!!!!!!

I said I wanted to know what was happening before then and she said phone doc and get referred to early baby clinic so I've phoned doc and I'm waiting for them to call me back as they weren't sure what to do with me!!

OP posts:
LadyGoneGaga · 30/10/2013 10:54

Ask them to refer you to the Early Pregnancy Unit at your local hospital. They'll most likely give you a number to ring and you'll at least get to talk to someone who has a clue. Makes me cross that you have to do the running around when you're already in a state.
