mrsb I remember reading an article about why some women get bad morning sickness and others not at all. It was all about how women are affected differently by the hormones. I remember women who get motion sickness and migraines are more at risk of bad morning sickness.

FoxtrotOscarBackToEconomy · 16/11/2013 06:33

Mrsb last pregnancy I had an occasional bit mild nausea in the first trimester. Never sick (except for a food poisoning episode where I nearly threw up over MIL's dining table).

This time strong nausea and yesterday morning I was sick. So even two pregnancies in the same person can be different.

Very Envy of people who don't even get any nausea.

englishteacher78 · 16/11/2013 06:37

Getting frequent nausea but I've not been sick. Had a curry last night and thought I might be sick but just had really bad discomfort. Don't think I'll be trying curry again for a while though.

englishteacher78 · 16/11/2013 07:28

I'm off my porridge and find cereal icky and boring normally. Any breakfast suggestions?

jaykay987 · 16/11/2013 08:12

Pooched egg on toast, beans on toast, peanut butter/Nutella on toast?

(I can't seem to stomach a meal without bread in it!)

MrsA2 · 16/11/2013 08:18

English I've been mainly eating bananas and cereal bars - pretty dull but easy to stomach in the morning.

Has anyone had their 12wk scan date yet? Really hoping to get mine before Christmas but also already worrying about trying to get there without working knowing!

Got called by the community midwife yesterday (7 wks + 1) and have my booking in appt next week.

Pearlsaplenty · 16/11/2013 08:18

english I had to give up my morning weetabix, replaced with toast and marmite. The only problem is is that is doesn't fill me up as well as weetabix did and I get hungry sooner. But I think my body needs salt at the moment.

MrsA2 · 16/11/2013 08:19

Yes, bread too! I'm living on bread these days (previously never really ate it).

RicStar · 16/11/2013 08:23

I have scan date its 30th. I was hoping it would be a bit earlier & may book a private one pre xmas but post 10 week mark.

RicStar · 16/11/2013 08:27

I remember wanting nothing but protien lots of steak with dd but do far I am just feeling a bit meh about food in general though that maybe lingering effects of stomach bug we all had last week oh & fact am only 6 weeks.

roozocheeks · 16/11/2013 08:27

I have my scan on the 16th December, seems like ages away!!

AuntieMaggie · 16/11/2013 08:33

I am so sorry Chicago Flowers

I've not really felt sick at all though really notice when it's been a while since I've eaten. Both gp and nurse I saw yesterday said it's normal not to feel sick and it may kick in around week 8. I feel better than I have since I came off the pill as my hormones are more controlled though be it by pregnancy.

I'm avoiding nights out like the plague because people will definitely notice if I'm not drinking. Luckily our car is playing up so I can't afford it this month anyway!

MrsA2 · 16/11/2013 08:33

Roozocheeks you're due the day before me so I'm hoping I may get mine pre-Xmas too - fingers crossed. Either way it does feel like ages away!

I'm going to pay for an early scan too but wanted to wait until the later NHS one before telling people if we can.

AuntieMaggie · 16/11/2013 08:33

That meant so say I'm so sorry choccy Flowers

MrsA2 · 16/11/2013 08:34

RicaStar - good plan to book a private scan after 10wks

talulahbelle · 16/11/2013 08:47

Hi all, I'm posting on the August bus as well as I'm due on the 26th July - but I've heard 1st babies are often late. I'm 4 weeks exactly today, and absolutely terrified.
I've had loads of early losses in the past and a nasty ectopic, this pregnancy is after IVF.

Symptoms were stronger a couple of days ago, I woke up this morning with my boobs less sore and not really feeling sick at all so I need some positive thinking.

tannyLoo72 · 16/11/2013 08:57

Welcome talulah, I'm trying to think some positive thoughts too, so we can do it together. As people keep telling me, symptoms come and go, so fx everything is fine...

I did another POAS this morning, an Internet cheapy, and still got a line, but these are new tests and seem to be lighter all round, so haven't been as reassuring as I'd hoped. I guess it's off to asda for some first response in a bit.

Sorry if this is TMI at this time on a Saturday, but are you ladies needing to go to the toilet more often? Everything I read says that I will need to pee more frequently, but I'm not, in fact, I think I may be dehydrated so trying to up the fluids a bit, or maybe it's a bit early, won't be 4 weeks till tomorrow.

MargeryDaw · 16/11/2013 09:14

Can I join please? I've had two bfp now, 1 yesterday and 1 today, though both quite faint. A pink line is a line though, right? My cycles have been averaging 36-41 days lately and I'm on day 38 now so might still be that it's an early test. I just can't believe it I think!

EDD would be around 6th July

MargeryDaw · 16/11/2013 09:16

Baby - I have been really thirsty the last couple of days so I'm the same

Littleangel21 · 16/11/2013 09:27

Morning all!

I'm now 5+2 and feel as though I have a constant hangover. Just sick-ish all the time, goes away if I eat but comes back an hour or so after. Sore boobs but not as sore as they were last week but they are so vainy. Have found I've been going to the toilet more either and feel very dehydrated and constipated. Nice. I have been off food generally unless it's something unhealthy. Which isn't great!

Thinking of you choccy.

Big welcome to all the new ladies xxx

MrsA2 · 16/11/2013 09:30

Baby - I'm only going more during the night, at least once if not twice. Very annoying as I am continually shattered and need every minute of sleep I can get!

Babymamatobe · 16/11/2013 09:36

Thanks ladies, good to know that you're not the only person having or not having symptoms!

coco808 · 16/11/2013 09:45

Warm welcome to all the newcomers...
