dollydaydream27 - will definitely report back tomorrow.

Re: GP trip, my visit to confirm pregnancy was strange... Thought I'd go, pee in a cup and get pregnancy confirmed.

Instead: was asked if I'd brought my two positive tests (I hadn't), and was told they needed it confirmed in a specific way in order to deem me pregnant. I was sent down the road to the pharmacy, where I had to buy a sample tube (GP hadn't thought to give me one), and then go to nearby cafe to deal with (!). When I went back to pharmacy, the counter woman screamed 'PREGNANCY TEST' at the pharmacist across the shop (!). Immediately everyone turned to stare at me an DH! Pharmacist tested it positive, and I then had to go back to the GP again with a piece of paper saying this, at which point they then booked me in for midwife. What a palavar!!

Choccywoccydodah · 11/11/2013 13:28

Lemon that is a palava!! Last time we went in and the dr just took our word for it. It was very pointless tbh like ladygg said, so I'm glad I haven't got to bother this time!

englishteacher78 · 11/11/2013 14:09

I wouldn't be able to take my tests - they were digital ones and they only stay for an hour. Worried now. :(

Choccywoccydodah · 11/11/2013 14:22

For those of you that have had your booking appts, how long did it take for your scan date to come through and how far gone will you be?
I can't remember with ds, must dig out my baby diary!

All it is is I've got mine on 28th nov and will be 6 1/2 weeks, I'll be 10 weeks on 23rd dec and would love to have a scan before Xmas!

spinningirl10 · 11/11/2013 14:27

Great news on scan Lady, really pleased for you xx

Sorry to hear the sickness has started for some of you Sad

Lady great news about your scan!! Could you see much at all?

Does anyone else not feel pregnant? I've not had any sickness or nausea (yet) just been really tired. I'm 6w+6.

Incapinka · 11/11/2013 15:18

Oops sorry didn't put EDD. Think it's the 15th. And congratulations to everyone and hope no one is feeling too shabby. I have managed to not cry for 6hours now so that's a bonus!

englishteacher78 · 11/11/2013 15:30

I really want a scan before Christmas too (I'm pretty sure we all do though).
A little bit worried that they may want to be extra vigilant with me due to asthma and history of depression but constant appointments would just worry me.
Think it's a little strange (and somewhat frustrating) that procedure is different in different surgeries. I had to wait for a non-routine GP appointment - I would have thought that would be within a week but it'll be a week and a half sinice I contacted them when I see them on the 18th and then I have to wait again for my 'booking in' appointment? Is that right?
I hope I'm in the 2/3 of asthmatics that either show no change or an improvement. Although I checked on Friday and Ventolin is safe. Smile

jaykay987 · 11/11/2013 15:31

Choccy nhs scan is normally dating and nuchal at the same time, so somewhere between 11.5-13.5 weeks.

My booking in appointment is on 22nd and in my area you don't get your scan date until after you've seen the midwife.

I think the way the dates come through for scans are different everywhere.

LadyGoneGaga · 11/11/2013 15:37

Not much MrsB. She pointed out my enormous bladder, which I already knew was rather full as had had to wait! She showed me the sac (which was nice and round) and a little blob with a flickery heartbeat. She found that immediately so didn't have to wait. She also showed me the yolk sac. She said it was too early to listen to the actual heartbeat as the doppler would be a bit much for the baby. She took three sets of measurements and took the average to give me a date. I've got two glossy pictures of the small blob and so I immediately quipped that it's got it's fathers eyes. It was very lovely though and I do feel a bit less anxious.

Hopefully only about 4 weeks to wait until the next one! (no date yet though)

Choccywoccydodah · 11/11/2013 15:50

thanks Jaykay, knew that Smile just wondered how long after booking appt you got you scan date?

Choccywoccydodah · 11/11/2013 15:50

Choccywoccydodah · 11/11/2013 15:56

Aww ladygg that's lovely. Glad everything ok in there, it's reassuring seeing them as you actually start feeling pg then!
I remember I called ds a blob with a heartbeat ha ha.
I saw him at 7 weeks due to a bleed. It's going to be a long wait this time if I (hopefully) get no bleeding this pregnancy. But I would rather not bleed!!

turnwest · 11/11/2013 16:36

Hope everyone is doing ok, is anyone on here having their third?

Told my mum today, could nt help myself, and she said it was a bad idea as our house is too small for three children and she was generally really negative. Feel so miserable and lonely now. Maybe she s right, maybe three children is not a good idea.

LadyGoneGaga · 11/11/2013 16:59

Oh, Turnwest. Sorry your Mum is being so negative. Last thing you need. Try not to let her put a downer on things. as to house being too small, kids love sharing rooms and having other kids to play with. And it won't necessarily be the house you are in forever.

We are also having our third so you are not alone. Our house is fine, we have a spare room, but I still have this "OMG, what have I done?!" feeling every now and then. Especially when the kids are playing up and fighting. I think it's natural but you tend to regret the childen you don't have more than the children you do.

Choccy I booked a private scan due to nervousness (mc'ed my second pregnancy) and was only 50 quid so could be an option to set your mind at rest? I agree 12 weeks to wait is long! I can kind of offset the price versus the savings of all the booze I am not drinking nowadays.

jaykay987 · 11/11/2013 17:31

Sorry choccy - guess I was trying to say if you're ten weeks on Xmas ve you'll be very unlikely to ave a scan before Xmas unless you have to go to EPU or pay privately.

I've been a sobbing messy today. Feeling so sorry for myself. It's ridiculous. I just can't seem to pull myself together. I can't call in sick again tomorrow just because Im emotionally weak! No idea how Im going to get to Friday.

Littleangel21 · 11/11/2013 18:08

Hi all,

First day back to work for me. I have hated not saying anything.

That's great news lady. I can't wait to be reassured. I did another test today and got a positive. I just don't feel pregnant today, don't feel sick and boobs aren't very sore. I wondered (I hope you don't find this disgusting) whether any of you were getting discharge? I have a little and although it's normal I just don't know if it's normal whilst pregnant.

Sorry to hear that your mum is being negative. If you are happy then it's the right decision. I wish I had 3 children.... I'm so paranoid with the first 5 weeks with my first!

This is so reassuring - it's been great xx

LemonLovely · 11/11/2013 18:10

Littleangel21: I noticed discharge too for the first time. Not sure either if that's normal though...

LadyGoneGaga · 11/11/2013 18:17

Yes, white discharge is very normal in pregnancy. Has the lovely name of Leukorrhea. Envy

turnwest · 11/11/2013 18:30

thanks lady glad it's not just me, I am excited and I think it will be great having three children but my mum reminded me of all the worries I have. How old are your two other children?

I ve had discharge in other two pregnancies and also lots and lots of period type cramps, it's completely normal. Just thought I d say in case anyone was worried.

Feeling more cheerful again now. I ve never had morning sickness in other pregnancies so I m crossing my fingers and hoping my luck continues!

StrawberryNesquik · 11/11/2013 18:53

Hi all, I woke up today to a rotten cold to go along with the nausea and tiredness - oh joy! Think it'll be an early night for me, would it bad if I go to bed at the same time as DS? I can't even have a lemsip or little hot toddy to ease the pain, will have to settle for a bath and honey and lemon instead.

coco808 · 11/11/2013 19:27
