February 2014. The cake mix is in the mug, the microwave is on, it's slowly rising and we'll be pinging in three more months!

Sadly my cake mix is rising too much and resulting in a serious muffin top.

Cheers lastnight.

Btw, has anyone been watching Masters of Sex on Ch 4? It is fab BUT I must warn you to avoid like blue cheese Episode 5. Not suitable for any pregnant women.

lastnightopenedmyeyes · 03/11/2013 13:39

Masters of sex? I'm intrigued :)
Major update due, just need to get on my mac as I can't type it all out on here Grin

sunflowered · 03/11/2013 13:53

Nesting instinct encouraging me to cook but not a lot of space to put it in which is creating a bit of a build up in the kitchen this weem. There's likely to be about three quarters of a roast dinner going spare at mine later as I sit sadly and look at all those tasty roast potatoes that I can't finish.

Finally found a bonus of being preg though (apart from the baby, obvs) - sitting in the car in the sunshine being told by dh not to help unload things at the tip. I wonder if I can persuade him the 'no lifting' rule also applies post natally Grin

Knackered after wedding yesterday and we didn't even stay late. Feel sort of hungover and only had one glass of bubbly. Awesome wedding though not at all jealous of gorgeous bridge in gorgeous designer size 8 dress still able to walk in her beautiful shoes without a hint of back pain

Julietee · 03/11/2013 14:13

Thanks Whoput and Winter.

sunflowered I'm finding I can eat endlessly in the morning but feel so uncomfortable in the evening I just look at food sadly. Weird.

When did you hiccup feelers start feeling them?

Whoputtheramintheramadamadingd · 03/11/2013 14:48

Get thee to a mac pronto lastnight, I'm intrigued!

lastnightopenedmyeyes · 03/11/2013 15:05

I think I first started feeling definite hiccups about 4 weeks ago, around 24 weeks but they're much more obvious as time goes by Smile

gnittinggnome · 03/11/2013 18:44

Hello fellow preggos! Back from my trip, and there is no way I can catch up on 5 days' worth of posting, unless you've all experienced power cuts / sudden onset shyness and there aren't in fact pages and pages of updates.

New York was nice, although I saw everything a lot more slowly than before - seriously, a flying visit to a city where everyone walks everywhere was interesting...I've been going about my normal life a bit more slowly than before, but compared to an active family grouping I'm like a glacier in support socks. The wedding was lovely, my frock from Crave stood up very well and will do me now for all smart occasions till probably this time next year, and I am now fretting about my glucose tolerance test after French toast with maple syrup for breakfast every day.

misskatamari · 03/11/2013 19:32

Whoput - that definitely sounds like a crazy preggo dream Grin. Also sounds a bit like an AIBU thread as they love crazy parking Qs lol "AIBU to reserve parking by drawing figures spelling out fuck off in semaphore?"

Gnitting glad you had a lovely time - I'm with you on the glacier like movement! You must be knackered after walking around so much!

Mmmm homemade pizza for tea tonight and now I'm crocheting squares for a baby blanket Smile and forgetting that it's back to school tomorrow xxx

jenpatnim · 03/11/2013 19:49

Hey all, just checking in. I am mainly ok apart from being bamboozled by all the baby stuff and have no idea where to start ... I am hopeless! Very tired a lot of the time, and really not looking forward to school tomorrow.

Roll on Christmas holidays!

DawnOfTheDee · 03/11/2013 20:19

Gosh...lots to comment on - i'll catch up properly this week hopefully. Must say big congrats and fx for sticky bean for ruggles - I'm very happy for you love x

And just one thing to say to ALL of you. RINGS Take off your rings sooner rather than later! I've managed to get all mine off last week (been meaning to mention this on here since then) but with DD1 I didn't until i was actually on mat leave.

I had a very uncomfortable hour involving washing up liquid, olive oil, rubber gloves, ice and ribbons. Got all of them off except one. The last one had to be cut off by a jeweller. Not fun....excited couples shopping for engagement rings, etc don't want to see a fed up, angry hippo being worked on with a pair of pliers. I could tell by their 'you've just ruined my luffly fluffy vision of the future' type glances.....Grin

So, anyway, RINGS. TAKE THEM OFF NOW!

As you were.

lastnightopenedmyeyes · 03/11/2013 20:39

I'm loving the fact my rings actually fit me! They're usually too big. Mine didn't get too tight until after labour when I swelled up like a puffer fish Grin and I reckon I'm ok this time round too!

My fingers haven't swollen up either. Didn't realise they would. My rings still come off easily

marzipanned · 03/11/2013 21:13

My rings are hard to get off at the best of times so I've been taking them off every couple of days to make sure it's still possible! Will feel weird not having them on... maybe put them on a necklace or something.

lastnight masters of sex not how it sounds - it's about a scientist in the 50s who studied the physiological impact of orgasm - however, there was an extremely traumatic scene in which a woman loses her baby at 24 weeks and you saw the delivery... was in floods of tears and DH bloody snoring beside me!

gnitting glad you had a lovely time in NYC!

Good luck to the teachers going back tomorrow - only 7-ish weeks til the Xmas hols!

jazzcat28 · 03/11/2013 21:14

My fingers swell loads if I do lots of walking or am too hot. Struggled to get them off after sightseeing in Rome 4wks ago. Hoping I can wear them another few wks yet before I will have to stop.

DH has been a superstar this weekend. Worked sat morning came home and painted nursery, more painting this morning, cooked an amazing roast dinner then more painting this evening. I want to say he is this amazing all the time, but a pg hormone induced teary rage from me last weekend (cos he didn't change the bed sheets) might be the reason.... I'm lapping it up whilst it lasts!

LovesToBake · 03/11/2013 21:18

Champagne I don't think everyone's fingers well when pregnant - mine didn't last time and so far haven't this time - my rings still fit the same. You might escape that particular symptom!

Littleen · 03/11/2013 21:58

I've not had any swelling in my fingers so far, hope I won't get any at all, they are gorilla like enough already! Don't wear a ring at the moment anyway, what with all the painting and decorating :P

I seem to be one of the few that can't sleep on my back then. Whenever I do, or bend down over the bump for more than a few seconds, it gets hard to breathe and I can hear my heartbeat pulsing in my head! It's very uncomfortable, and there's no way I'd be able to sleep with that! So I suppose that means that with my body currently, it's not good for baby to sleep on my back. Shame I can't, because sleeping on the side all the time really does not help my pelvis that much!

Going to the midwife for 24 week check up in a few days (23 weeks today), any suggestions to questions I can ask? I can't seem to think of any!

sunflowered · 03/11/2013 22:20

Littleen I've just started to feel uncomfortable lying on my back as well. Feels a bit like something's weighing down on my throat when I breathe. I don't think i ever sleep on my back so hopefully won't be an issue, but still not a nice feeling.

I'll be asking the midwife this week how to tell what position the baby's in, mainly because I'm curious what the different feelings and movements are. And I'm still a bit paranoid about the size of the baby so will be looking for some reassurance and to see what impact having a big baby might have (if any) on options/decisions further down the line.

PoopPoooDeDooo · 03/11/2013 22:39

One of these days I'll get round to doing a proper post Hmm Blush But in the mean time I found this page on spinning babies which I found very helpful in working out what position LO is in unfortunately he/she seems very happy in OP BELLY MAPPING

Hope everyone's well- I have hardly eaten anything in last 48hours (I'm assuming that LO is squashing my stomach) so its a little frustrating that I am still getting reflux Angry

I can't believe its nearly Monday, after spending most of last week at work in a hormonal weepy puddle I'm hoping this week might go a little better??

...Repeats "You can survive, its only 6 more weeks" mantra

sunflowered · 04/11/2013 05:44

Thanks for the link poop Smile My bump seems to be napping at the moment but will try and pay attention next time it starts to kick and roll around.

Woke up for a toilet visit about an hour ago and on the way stopped to investigate a sort of tapping noise coming from the loft hatch. We now have a bucket catching the drips from the roof Sad Am hoping it's just a couple of loose tiles after the wind last week but don't have a strong enough torch to see inside the loft properly am too short to see over the loft hatch so can't see how much damage there is in the roof. Really hoping it's not a big repair job Sad

sunflowered · 04/11/2013 05:45

And sorry to hear about your bad week poop. Fingers crossed this one is better.

Thingymajigs · 04/11/2013 07:01

I'm glad its not just me! I can feel my pulse throbbing in my temple when I lie on my back. All feels very worrying. Can't lie on my back now because it gives me back ache. Woke up this morning on my back with a fat cat sat on my bump so I've got an idea what 40 weeks will feel like.
Ds2's first day at his new school today. I'm terrified for him. Had to be done though, no way could I have done that bus journey with a baby. His old school threw a big surprise party and gave presents whilst hormonal me tried not to cry. So lovely seeing his friends give him hugs as we left. Not often you see 10yo boys do that.

lastnightopenedmyeyes · 04/11/2013 07:50

I've also not been comfortable on my back for weeks now. Makes me feel woozy, hard to breathe and just uncomfortable.

Julietee · 04/11/2013 08:03

Nice on the Bellymapping! So.. what the hell does it mean if I feel kicking type movements in two opposite quadrants? He is an octopus.

Laughing at the image of your fat cat, thingy.
I am now one week away from my interim goal of 25 weeks! Yay!

Went to see Thor last night. I'm not sure if LO was reacting to the noise or my anxiety (which was fairly bad at the time), but he was flipping out!

sunflowered · 04/11/2013 08:26

I've got an octopus too julietee Grin
