February 2014. The cake mix is in the mug, the microwave is on, it's slowly rising and we'll be pinging in three more months!

Sadly my cake mix is rising too much and resulting in a serious muffin top.

Wow lots of activity on here yesterday!

Re car seats we have a maxi cosi cabriofix and the base. Got it in red and love it.

We have a Moses basket then a 1980s cot which is slightly smaller than standard modern cots. After its outgrown the cot it will go into a low level single bed which we already have. Was a bit worried the cot would be too small but my parents pointed out it suited me and my brother until I was old enough for a single.

Fun weekend ahead here - flu jab clinic this morning followed by cuddles with my 3mth old goddaughter then we are starting to decorate the nursery!

Had very emotional/hormonal week compounded by stupid amounts of time wasted in my car on my commute. Had teary row with DH over why he hadn't changed the bed sheets. Made up though and spent the rest if the evening talking baby names. What do you honestly think of Harrison? Still team yellow but mother instinct telling me boy. Finding girl names a struggle.

Sassy20 · 26/10/2013 08:19

Jazz - I know a little boy the same age as dd called Harrison and I quite like it. Smile

misskatamari · 26/10/2013 09:26

Awww somany your day in the woods sounds lovely! I can't wait to be able to do things like that with my little one Smile I hope you can get some rest today though!

Littleen - try not to worry too much, as others have said baby has probably moved into a different position. Is your placenta anterior? If so that can definitely muffle things. Some days I feel quite a lot from mine and others not much at all - just vague moving as opposed to kicks. If you're worried though I'd call the mw to help put your mind at rest!

Jazz I really like the name Harrison. Grin Picking names is so exciting - but bloody difficult too!

Were off to visit my mum finally today! Not seen her since we found out due to sickness and general feeling grotty and bit up to the drive (as DH is still learning so can't take us). I've got scan pictures copied and gonna take my Doppler Grin. She's gonna be shocked at the sight of me! We talk most days on the phone but she's not seen a pic or anything as only just sorted out her internet. As long as her and my aunt don't tell me I'm looking fat all will be well!

Have a lovely Saturday ladies - I hope the weathers a bit nicer were you all are!

littleen, do you have a home doppler? I find it helps when I'm getting worried just to reassure me. Baby will be fine though, she/he has probably changed position for a short while.
Grotty weekend here in the Midlands too. DP is laying down laminate in the living room and hallway which I'm hoping will be finished by Christmas at least. DP seems to think it'll be done by tomorrow. Hope the baby takes his optimistic deluded attitude to everything. Grin
Have a great weekend everyone. We will be trying the choc microwave cake tonight. Can't wait.

jenpatnim · 26/10/2013 10:09

Hey all. I am finally feeling kicks - very exciting!

I hate cleaning the bathroom more than just about anything :(
Plus I am really bad at it so it takes close to an hour so now I'm worrying about breathing in the chemicals for that long. I do use Ecover now, but still very chemical-y. Why do I suck so much?

DawnOfTheDee · 26/10/2013 13:24

Sassy20 Can't believe I missed that there's someone else from Leeds here! I'm in Roundhay/Gledhow - whereabouts are you?

EeyoreIsh · 26/10/2013 14:13

julietee cleaning the bathroom and kitchen is the only bearable bit of housework for me, but it's all so much more difficult with a bump.

I'm exhausted! We got up early and chose tiles for the bathroom, then spent three hours at the allotment. Then I came home and did some gardening here. I'm shattered now, it was almost too much effort to eat lunch. The weather has been lovely here (South Coast) this morning, for the first time in ages.

LittlePandaBear · 26/10/2013 14:30

I've had a nice morning in the library with DD and then lunch with DH. Although I had to share my chocolate brownie dessert with DD and she can eat it quicker than me. I've created a mini-me chocolate monster! Blush

She always tries to lift my top up in public though to see the baby - I keep telling her that other diners don't want to see my belly wihle they're eating but she doesn't understand! She is very sweet though talking and singing to her baby brother :)

Going to the hairdresser now. Hope you're all enjoying your weekends.

I should really be cleaning the bathroom too...

Happy Day!

Just booked hotel and treats for me and DH's 5yr wedding anniversary next week. I don't have gestational diabetes. And we're off to see Suede tonight!

Smile
Littleen · 26/10/2013 14:53

Thanks for all the reassurance guys :) I do have a doppler but no gel - lube doesn't work it seems :P Even the midwife struggles to hear his heartbeat for more than a few seconds at a time, as he is very shy and moves away!

On the plus side - he was moving about this morning for a few minutes, so now I am happy and relaxed about it all :)

Don't even start on cleaning :P I am so busy refurbishing our new place, that our current place is an absolute tip. I am not even exaggerating and will not let anyone in here!

jenpatnim · 26/10/2013 15:23

I bought a blanket, nursing bra and maternity tights today! Starting to feel more excited!

jenpatnim · 26/10/2013 15:23

litleen, try baby oil with your doppler

barebranches · 26/10/2013 16:12

i have my pram, travel cot and car seat! whohooo! :)
also bought baby clothes as mumas and papers have 25% off this weekend. A good day! Grin

misskatamari · 26/10/2013 16:45

Awww Dawn - excellent news all round Grin.

Littlepanda your DD sounds so cute! You are very generous to share your dessert tho - I hope I will be as nice when i have mine - I hate sharing food!

Joining you all in feeling bloody knackered after a busy day. Drove over to see my mum and aunt and had lunch out (with a big sundae for dessert). My aunt gave me some cute knitted cardigans that a friend if hers has made - so sweet! Smile

We also had an annoying trip to b&q as our toilet seat has broken off (NOT because I am a giant fatty) but the people who had the house before us put it in and it's a round shape and they didn't sell them. They had the toilet but not the seat available which was very annoying! I think I will give DH the job of trying to get hold of one now. Sofa time now with a camomile tea (whilst my Bavaria chills in the fridge GrinGrinGrin).

Ugh after all my tidying last night I got home to a giant fur pattern right in the middle of the lounge too Confused I like to imagine the cat is making me modern art - not just being a giant moulting pain in the arse!

misskatamari · 26/10/2013 16:46

Jen and bare congratulations on your purchases too Smile sooo exciting to e getting baby things.

Ooooh tesco have quite a bit of stuff on offer too - ours had lots of play gym type things and a bouncy chair thingy.

misskatamari · 26/10/2013 17:34

FFS a replacement loo seat is gonna cost us 60 bloody quid!!! Why would anyone buy such a stupid specific toilet! Grrrr Preggo rage at stupid toilet and the people who chose it!ShockConfused

LittlePandaBear · 26/10/2013 17:50

How annoying Miss Kat! You'll just have to think of it in a cost per use kind of way. And being pregnant with a baby kicking your bladder will probably get the cost per use down in no time Grin

last night sorry to hear that and hope you are able to say good bye in your own way.

littleen my LO is sometimes quite active and then seems to disappear. I guess it's normal at this stage and as ppl have said counting the kicks is for a bit later on. I guess when they are starting to get squashed in there and and we'll feel every little shimmy.

Exciting to hear abt purchases. I still own zilch but am planning a shopping fest after xmas. The 15% off tje bednest seems amazing tho may have to get that now...

jazzcat28 · 26/10/2013 18:22

misskat have you tried going to local plumber's merchants? My mum broke our seat last year and B&Q etc were useless, but plumber's merchants sorted us out. They tend to only be open until 12 or 1pm on Saturdays though. Also we ended up with a seat that didn't exactly match the size/shape of the toilet and it works fine Grin

I am not buying anything other than decorating supplies now until after Christmas. I've decided I have sufficient essentials to get me through the first few team yellow weeks, then will enjoy shopping for girl/boy stuff once I'm able to get out and about. Only really need to worry about packing hospital bag now but won't worry too much about this until January.

lastnightopenedmyeyes · 26/10/2013 18:57

Second the baby oil with Doppler. I so used aloe Vera gel with great results.
