Ice Lolllys are your friend moomin, feel cool and refreshing and take te sickness away (well they did for me) also keep you hydrated and are tasty! (plus if you do puke they taste alright on the way back up due to water content.)

Hopefully you'll hear abou the part soon!! I think my sickness rletc is pretty much gone now fx... I'm around 11 weeks now give or take though so I think that must have something to do with it .

An worried iv told too many people :( specially with all the extra problems my pg potentially has I really can't wait for the scan!!! Roll on 21st oct.... Sigh....

Finally am less exhausted also girlies so hopefully thats a positive end to the first trimester! secretly a bit (read very) worried that symptoms going is a sign that baby's going too Hmm

Hahahah dobedo that penis beaker thread tested my pelvic floor to the max! Time for kegels ladies ;)

Magpie78 · 09/10/2013 19:18

Hi everyone just got in from work
Think working these hours is horrible right now! Quick question for all you guys currently seem to have all day morning sickness but at 16:30 it seems to get really bad and I get dizzy with a headache. Lasts until about 7 so all the way on the commute home, nearly fainted yesterday!
Any one else having this? Any ideas that might help? 6 + 4 today and flying to Fuertaventura Saturday!!!

bushprincess · 09/10/2013 19:22

nanny please don't worry... I'm sure it's just the horrid 1st trimester drawing to a close but I know you'll be so relieved to get your scan.. we're all going to be keeping fingers and toes extra crossed for everyone now after we've had so much heartbreaking news on here...

dobedo the penis beaker is TOOOO funny!

hamncheese I understand where you're coming from and you don't want any excuse for your supervisors to treat you any differently... will you pretty much be written up by the time the bean arrives? if so then it should have very little bearing and is none of their business! good luck writing up!

moomin hope the ice-lollies work! and can't wait to hear if you got your part... LOVE little shop of horrors!

bluestone me too.. puffing like a steam train! oh the joys!

just called the parents - managed to get everyone on skype and show them the blob picture - they seem v.chuffed... infact MIL was so chuffed that she then told BIL before we had a chance to ring him..grrrr Angry

Night all..sleep well and sweet dreams!!

bushprincess · 09/10/2013 19:24

magpie can't offer any help I'm afraid but hope you manage to get it under control for your travels... with the fainting maybe you should get your bp checked out in case it's low... and try and stay hydrated (if you can keep liquid down) xx

dobedobedo · 09/10/2013 19:47

Today I'm still suffering with a bad cold, but I started to feel a bit smug that I hadn't thrown up in two days. I was just telling dh about it when I got home from work, when I promptly vommed. Confused I did manage some frozen yoghurt for dinner which soothed my throat. Also it was Ben and Jerry's so Grin

Sorry to hear so many others of us are feeling shite! Only a few weeks to go and then we start "blooming" right?

Who was it who asked about norn iron ladies? I'm from NI but I've lived in England now for a year. (sorry I forget names most of the time when I get to the posting bit!)

Cybercat · 09/10/2013 19:57

Hi bluestone I get very breathless too but its worse in the morning. I googled it to check it as normal! Am struggling to load paged on here tonight and its so frustrating.

MasterFlea · 09/10/2013 20:06

So sorry thePFJ. Thinking of you. Thanks

Elastigrrrl · 09/10/2013 20:07

Got a bfp last week and should be 7 weeks tomorrow, thought it was time I joined a group of lovely ladies like yourselves!

bluestone85 I was flummoxed by the same symptoms, but I read that the sneezing is known as pregnancy rhinitis and affects about 30% of pregnant women. Sounds a bit of a suspect symptom I know, but apparently it's due to increased blood flow that makes the mucous membranes in the nasal passages swell. Kind of amusing when you think about it, not enough with the morning sickness and the hormones, got to sneeze as well...

moominleigh94 · 09/10/2013 20:10

Thanks NannyPlum, fx for you. Think we're around the same stage, I'm around 11+2. My scan is a week tomorrow and I'm so nervous. I know I'm healthy, I'm young, blah blah blah but nothing's ever guaranteed. Part of me is convinced there'll be something wrong... and I've no reason to think there is, it's just an instinct Sad

Isean · 09/10/2013 20:41

Thank you very much for your good luck messages today, you are all very kind!
We had our scan today & it was amazing & overwhelming! Our wee one was sleeping with its hands by its head & chin on its chest, I had to do some Shakira-style moves to wake it up! It was really, really incredible & we feel so blessed!
I'm now dated 11+1 & all is looking good! Grin

BoogiesBunny · 09/10/2013 22:41

Hey flixy I'm from N.I. too but have been away since I went to uni and am now in London - but nice to know there's other girls from norn iron on here!

isean oh my goodness I am so pleased for you - how long have you stared at the picture they gave you?! I'm so excited for ours - 3 weeks to go....agh!

thistlelicker · 10/10/2013 06:37

Ok time to phone doctor or midwife third morning I've woke with pins and needles :-( I had bloods done the other day at hospital so will see what happens

Cupcake1985 · 10/10/2013 07:25

Hi easti I'm 7+1 today so your back here with me too. Have you booked your midwife appointment yet?

impatientlywaiting · 10/10/2013 07:52

Ah Isean, that sounds so cute that the baby was asleep and you had to wake bean up.

I know I sound like a broken record but I still haven't got my scan date and I'm 10+6, so impatient now!

thistlelicker · 10/10/2013 07:56

Ring your midwife impatiently x

misscalais · 10/10/2013 08:07

thistlelicker · 10/10/2013 08:07

Hi miss!!!! Welcome :-)

AliOh · 10/10/2013 08:08

Hi misscalais welcome and congrats :)

AliOh · 10/10/2013 08:11

thistle I read somewhere that pins and needles can be quite common during pregnancy but definitely worth mentioning to midwife especially if its bothering you

thistlelicker · 10/10/2013 08:13

Alioh I'm going to ring them at 9 and see what they say :-)

dobedobedo · 10/10/2013 08:32

Welcome misscalais! Congrats on the bfp - friendly bunch of girls here, join in the fun whinging puking and worrying Grin

Moomin, I carry a bottle of water with me everywhere I go. It holds a litre, and I drink at least that every day, normally I get through one and a half or two bottles. It means when I throw up, the majority of the time I just throw up water, which is better than chunky carrot soup (yuk!) and it is stopping me getting dehydrated, I just take sips constantly, even during the night.

Today I'm still in work, still dying with the cold and now I've completely lost my voice. The business owner is coming to do a pregnancy risk assessment today. Not really sure what to expect.

Spirael · 10/10/2013 08:45

Morning all! Hopefully everyone is well and those suffering with morning sickness aren't too Envy this morning.

After an epic bad day on Monday, MS hasn't been quite as bad for me for the rest of this week. In part because I finally gave up trying frantically to eat healthily and now I'm just stuffing my face with whatever I can manage at the time. Blush

I'm going to gain so much weight, argh... At least I've already had my booking in appointment and my BMI was just about ok when it was logged! If it runs like last time they won't weigh me again, so I don't care anymore. Grin I might do when none of my maternity clothes fit...

I've booked a private scan for 31st October (Halloween, woooo-! Trick or treat indeed...) which we can take DD to. I'll be 9+5 then, so hopefully there should be something to see. A jellybean blob with a heart beat, at least! Gives me something to look forward to at the peak of MS, if it runs like last time.
